That's too bad. They had some really good (and dare I even say great) stuff after 90125 especially the ladder, talk and Big Generator. Of course that's just my opinion. 90125 was a very good comeback but ulitimately a bit overrated and not very representative of the Yes sound or spirit so it loses points for me. If it was released under the name Boston or Journey or even Styx no one would have batted an eyelash at the time. to each his own of course, but i'm clueless as to how anyone could like big generator but then call 90125 overrated :P i guess it is in a way, since it's the most popular yes / album and song for more casual listeners. big generator has two good songs, the title track and shoot high talk and the ladder are forgettable, the band really suffers without both Howe and Wakeman most of the time Union (popularly referred to as Onion) has "Pick Me Up" - which at least has a very kick ass Dream Theater like intro in it. can't say much positive about their catalogue aside from the albums I ranked, I gave them all a fair shot and honestly it felt like the world's biggest chore.. meanwhile listening through something like Tales From Topographic Oceans felt like an incredible adventure at the time Compared to Big Generator 90125 is definitely overrated which conversely means BG is underrated which is exactly how I feel. They have similarities but BG is more adventurous and has more songs that are more representative of the classic era. The more cutting edge songs are done because they want to do them. Anyway many people jump ship after Going For the One so at least you made it into the 80's. ;)

Really sad news. RIP Taylor. He was a big fan of two of my favorite bands (Rush and Yes) and will be missed. My condolences to his family and the rest of the Foo Fighters.

I think I had it's show time on vinyl way back when but don't remember it much. If you had LOMS up against Freeze Frame I would probably vote for FF. Despite the fact it went platinum it's still one of the most underrated albums of all time.

I don't really see it happening but you never know. Anything is possible.

I don't know all of these but Purple Rain, 1999, Parade and Around the world in a day are all good. I still haven't heard Sign of the times yet though.

I was listening to FEAR in my car about a month ago. I think it's pretty good but not quite on the level of their very best. I saw them live maybe half a dozen years ago or so and they were good. I've been a fan for a long time but there's a lot of gaps in my collection. Clutching at straws is one of my all time favorite albums even though I probably prefer the H (Hogarth) era overall. I've heard mixed things about the new one so far but most of the reviews at this point seem to be very positive.

Personally I believe they are already there. Maybe not household names like Porcupine Tree or Dream Theater but anyone who follows modern prog has at least heard of them.

Countdown (listening to signals and it's almost over)

Anyway, it mostly seems to be "Rush's greatest hits" but it's still pretty cool.

Dude, lay off the crack pipe. Lol. Anyway, I'm seeing them in December in Philly as long as all goes as planned and it isn't cancelled because of covid or anything like that. I've only seen Genesis once before but along with Yes and Rush they are one of my all time favorite bands.

The other night I preordered the new Yes "the quest" from the laser's edge (a prog rock online retailer).

Sad news. I heard about this yesterday. She's was very talented and certainly seemed to have her "own voice." I was never really big into the kind of music she does in general but I really liked her for some reason. Maybe it's because she's just as much folk as country. Not sure. Anyway, RIP Nanci.
