scratch one of my questions there, as i just looked on the internet movie database, and the 3 main roles are STILL (phew!) being played by the same actors - previously, it only confirmed that the actor playing lucious malfoy was the same, but now it's added the 3 of them in, but no one else.

man, i can't WAIT for the new book! my wife and i are harry potter fanatics, and we generally buy them on tape to listen to them in the car - jim dale, the guy who reads them is phenomenal, doing different voices for every character, and generally being extremely engaging and interesting, although actually reading the books themselves can be fun too. regarding the films, have they even announced the cast of the 5th movie yet? as far as i know, the 3 actors that play the main roles haven't even agreed to anything beyond the 4th movie yet which has already been filmed. it would be a real shame if they changed actors - changing dumbledore was regrettable, but with the death of the original actor, unavoidable! still, it was a noticeable difference in continuity that was fine for one person, but if any of the 3 major players changed, it would be quite akward, don't you think? july 16th is right around the corner!!!

since no one seems to be getting this, can we get a hint?

Anyone who has seen the movies should be able to answer the questions if their memory is good enough. Right, then were back in the territory of seeing it in a book or only knowing because you had some obscure Star Wars card game or something else non-movie related that you were geeky with.

john irving has always been a really quirky writer whose stories are littered with fascinating characters and wildly improbably, yet at the same time fun and believable events. I actually read this book so long ago that I can't remember it, but I do remember the movie quite well - great cast and acting, some truly memorable moments, a huge range of human emotions, really quirky and truly original. Mention should also be made that with this movie and Moscow on the Hudson, it cemented Robin Williams as one of the truly GREAT dramatic actors (even though the movie had a fair bit of comedic elements in it too). I always get annoyed when he makes movies like Flubber as it seems such a waste of his incredible dramatic talent. Anyway, a must see in my book...

I'm surprised that no one has said this before, but for me Field of Dreams is THE best baseball movie ever, and while there are a lot of other great ones, and I haven't seen every one ever made, I can't imagine one I could possibly love more. Not only is it the best baseball movie, but it will also be in my top ten favorite movie list of all time forever, regardless of subject matter. The way this movie infused the supernatural into it, with great acting and an amazing cast, and more importantly made people who aren't even baseball fans care about baseball is beyond compare. Also, deeply touching and the part at the end when he plays catch (I won't give it away for those who haven't seen it yet) just gets me crying every time - what a perfect f**king movie!

I just saw this recently with my wife and some friends. WOW! All I can say is that pretty much everyone in the entire Western world owes a HUGE debt of thanks to this guy, and most people don't even know it! Would the sexual revolution in the 60's even have happened if not for Kinsey? Would sex education in school be happening? Boy were we in the extreme dark ages before he came around, and man was he one gutsy sonofabitch for doing what he did in the 40's and 50's! Defintely a very educational movie if nothing else, but also well acted and fascinating... Oh yeah, definitely a hard R on this one, not for young kids for sure...

There are two reasons why I almost definitely won't see this movie: 1. I don't know why, but I hate, really passionately hate almost all Tim Burton movies. 2. It looks too much like the original.

I consider myself a HUGE star wars fan, but these questions seem insane to me - for example on this last one, do they actually mention in The Empire Strikes Back the name of the creature who spits out R2, or do you have to do 30 minutes of research on the internet to know, OR, is watching each move 30 times still not enough to know the answers to these questions???

MTV is but a shadow of what it once was, at least in terms of videos. I got MTV in 1981 VERY shortly after it came out, if not when it came out. The very early days of MTV consisted of maybe 50 videos or so played over and over again since that was all they had! Naturally, that number increased exponentially over time, but in the beginning you couldn't miss certiain videos by Golden Earring, Rainbow and A Flock of Seagulls played constantly. Also, it was all about the VJ's - 5 of them who had their shifts and would sometimes introduce videos and give news. Even throughout the 80's period mentioned above, they still would regularly play older videos, unlike now where if it's more than 6 months old, it's ancient history. Also, they had to get creative in the early days since pepole weren't use to making videos, so they would show promotional things like Queen's Bohemian Raphsody that was now a "video" and they would take Rush concert clips and make those into videos too! It was totally a fun period, and while most of the music they played in the 80's wasn't really my cup of tea, it was still fun. I'd rather watch 100 Rock Me Amadeus's over 1 50 Cent Candy Store (yuck) video any day, but it's way in the past now. Now videos are shown late at night or during strange hours on MTV and VH1 and it's all about the programming of regular shows like now, almost like a regular network. Thankfully for me though, I like a lot of the programming that VH1 and MTV has (Surreal Life, Celebrity Fit Club, Real World, Road Rules, 100 greatest...., When .... Ruled the World, etc.), so that's cool.

oh, COOL, i love this game and haven't played it in years - i acknowledge the rules, and while I think they're biased and HIGHLY unfair , I will abide by them. Just kidding about the biased and highly unfair part!

the first star wars is my all time favorite movie (episode 4 mind you, NOT episode 1 - please!), but i must say that episode 3 is by far the best of the prequel trilogy (though I loved episode 2 as well) and is a MUST SEE!!! may the force be with you...always

My wife and I are addicted to reality tv, but unfortunately all the good shows have finished their seasons, and now it's kind of an empty wasteland. Slightly embarrassed, but I do LOVE: american idol the apprentice the bachelor/bachelorette the real world america's next top model survivor the amazing race nanny 911 the surreal life probably some others I forgot there. I dunno, it just seems so much more entertaining than regular tv these days - the only dramas we enjoy regularly are Charmed, Medium and Star Trek (now defunct ) and there are really no sitcoms that interest me except Will & Grace (and endless Friends re-runs). I'm glad I found this thread as previously I kept messing around with My Controls as I assumed the Long Awaited Froind was what they first gave you as a default until you manually changed it. After spending quite awhile not figuring out how on earth to manually change it, I figured it was an automatic level thing, but didn't figure out how it worked until now -

kind of a wierd one for me as I'll be 36 in two days and JUST made the cut of the up to 35 year olds - phew!
