I don't generally go to bars anymore, but in college there were several cool bars in Downtown Chico CA.. I think my fav was "The Panama". They served lots of exotic Teas there, my fav was the Texas Tea (because it had more booze in it!!)

*Spoiler Warning*
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Bill die in part 2?
So the next one will have to be called "Kill <insert some other dude's name here>"
Like "Kill Fred" or "Kill Felipe" or "Kill the guy that stole my wallet!"

I just finished the 24oz bottle of Harvest Ale and it was truly fantastic. Very similar to that great taste of Celebration Ale that we love, but even fresher tasting. About the same ABV:
Celebration 6.8% ABV
Harvest 6.7% ABV
That has to be the most refreshing hoppy ale I've had.
And I still have the 6'er of Celebration .. it's going to be a great weekend!

I picked up a six'er at Raley's on the way home. While I was there, I noticed a new SN product I had never seen before.. It's called Harvest Fresh Hop Ale. It was only in 24oz bottles for $4. So I bought one of those too. I just opened the Harvest and it is fantastic! This is the 11th addition according to the bottle, so they've been making it since '96.. This is the first time I've ever seen it bottled. It really has a unique Hop taste and flavor. The bottle says:
"Harvest Ale is brewed using only fresh picked, "wet" hops. Brewing with fresh, undried hops preserves more natural hop resins and aromatic oils, producing layers of hop notes rarely experienced."
I cannot disagree. This is better than their Anniversary Ale, about on par with the Celebration Ale which is one of my yearly favorites!

German Accident Photo - Not for the Faint of Heart - worst accident I've
ever seen!
This is a picture of a horrible highway accident in Germany. The picture
may be kind of hard to take for some of you.
If you look closely you can see what appear to be some survivors of the
accident still in the wreckage.
Although the picture is quite graphic, it makes you realize how quickly
our loved ones can be taken from us.
My friend stayed on the scene to help, and even though he performed
mouth to mouth on quite a few of them, none apparently survived.

Actually, after seeing the brand.. It was probably a worthy sacrafice..

Anyone had it yet this year? I saw it on the shelve in the grocery store the other day. I'm waiting to go to Costco so I can buy it by the case... Maybe tonight!!!
-
After drinking it for a month (approximately 3 cases worth) I DO like it very much..
I can't wait for Celebration Ale 2007. Should be here any day.

You know, there is a fine line between Clever and Stupid...

I never spill...
I don't I don't I don't...

I bought a case of SN anniversary ale a week or two ago... It was OK. It's basically SN pale ale but a bit hoppier. Not near as good as the Celebration Ale. It's 5.9% and they "say" it's an IPA, but it's not near as good as their regular IPA or Celebration.. I'd drink it any day, but they have better. The regular Pale Ale is probably just as good, and cheaper!

QUOTE (softfilter @ Aug 24 2007, 08:45 PM) QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Aug 15 2007, 11:11 PM) Wee lets see here, I just finished a nice tall glass of orange soda. Yummy yum Orange soda... The official drink of Harvey Pekar!
There's a David Letterman joke here somewhere, but it slips my mind
I'm drinking Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale.. NOT their best, but still good.. It's like a IPA but darker with less alcohol... weird combo.. Too bad one of their founders just killed himself..
Steve Harrison Brew Master Legend
Maybe that's why they are doing an Anniversary Ale after "27" years.. ....

In Downtown San Diego (where I saw Geddy Lee), at the downtown Marriott, on the 22nd floor, shots of Don Julio was $14...
Damn.

QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 7 2007, 09:08 PM) QUOTE (doubled_mystic @ Aug 7 2007, 11:55 PM) well it's offical, there is a new homerun record holder. I just feel cheated that there is this much suspicion about the record. Oh well, it'll fall some day anyway. Let's go A-Rod!
756-500=256
256/8=32
A-rod only has to average 32 homers a year for the next 8 years and he'll be to 756 by the time he's 40. Hopefully, Bonds won't hit many more.. I think he wants to get to 800.

QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Aug 5 2007, 11:51 AM) I was in Vegas last week for a corporate seminar and we hired BMG to perform for us in the Mandalay Arena. I'm not sure how similar it was to their normal show since it was obviously customized to our audience. I didn't realize how art-driven the group is. Hilarious references to all the problems of modern life and the need to work together was intertwined with interesting music and effects. If you get a chance, check them out. Did you happen to catch on Saturday night?
I saw BMG front row center at the Venitian about a year and half ago.. It was a blast, but I have to admit I was completely drunk during the show which helped enhance the show tremendously!!
-
It was pitchers-o-margaritas and coronas light night for the Concord show! Wow, what I great night!!
Who knows what it will be tonight. I think they have Sierra Nevada at the Casino, so that's what I'll start the night with.
-
Jim Beam Black
Milagro Tequila with salt and lime
Stone Pale Ale..
-
OMG, he absolutely ripped it in SD last night.. It was.. well.... orgasmic..
Not sure if it's the best of all time, but for this tour... Probably yes!
