I'm not advocating them going on for us or anybody but themselves. I just always have to chuckle a bit when I hear how grueling their work load is. You can chuckle all you want. Are you over sixty? If so, maybe you can go with them on this tour and see how long it takes before you get worn out. I know 60 year old coal miners and construction workers that work 80 hours a week. I know 75 year old doctors that work 80 hours a week, up all night and then all day. None of them take a year off after a grueling 3 day work week for 3 months. Rush has built a great thing for themselves and can afford to work the way they choose. Great on them. I'm not criticizing that. Just a little perspective about the terrible work load they are under. I tend to agree with you.

Just saw the Moody Blues in Portland Oregon last week, my first time seeing them, I'm 27 years old. I'll just say I may have been the youngest person there. God but they put on a great performance. Every song was fantastic, a band with guys in there 70's and they're still able to reproduce their music live. Justin was killing the guitar solo parts too, unbelievably awesome. Nights in white satin sounded exactly like the album version, he hit every lyrical note perfectly. I honestly didn't think they would be this good, they totally exceeded my expectations. If they happen to come back, I will definitely see them again. I will mention that the audience was a bit stale, I guess considering the average age was probably around 60-65 its not too surprising. I mean I was getting into it, but after each song only the first 12 rows were standing up and applauding (everyone was applauding and cheering but most were just sitting), I was in about 20th row and was standing after each song giving a raucous applause and I was one of the only ones doing this this far back throughout the entire show. I would have liked to have stood the whole show but didn't want to piss the people off behind me. Luckily the audience got more lively, finally, for the last 5 or 6 songs. They played for a total of 2 hours, I'll reiterate, awesome show!!!

They should just focus on recording like 6 or 7 more albums, so when they die they can just keep putting music out, like 2Pac. That would be epic. Especially considering I'm young and need more Rush for awhile. I do wish they would placate (most) our desires and go back to the old sound though, maybe produce a couple more 20 minute epics. A few more Necromancer's, and Cygnus'. Hey I can dream, can't I? : )

Awesome. Funny that you post this. I had a dream the other night I was getting a bass lesson from Geddy. I woke up feeling really refreshed. That's all I remember though, my dreams aren't near as vivid as yours. Lol

That's interesting. How tall would you presume he is? Neil is 6'4" (1.93 m) Alex is 6'0" (1.83 m) and Geddy is the "short" one at 5'10" (1.78 m) according to a Google search for their heights. This would be the best (and most likely) scenario for them playing a song off CoS. By-Tor is a huge fan favorite and it could segue into the final part of The Necromancer quite easily. Two albums in one song, and finally satisfies everyone who's wanted something from CoS since 1981 besides the brief Bastille Day section from 2004. I think your idea would be amazing. I personally love the Necromancer, the middle portion kicks some serious ass, and the end portion wraps the song up nicely, I've always thought of it as kind of soothing, especially after the hardcore frenetic middle. They'd have to turn up the volume if they played the middle, for sure. Alexs' guitar sounds like a beast.

Yep Andrew I get it to man. "Meh" says it all. I mean I was still excited to actually meet him with eye contact but then when I decided to walk up to him he slithered back onto his tour bus and shut the door. I just wanted to tell him that I had been playing the drums for about 25 years thanks to his influence. I know's it's a cliche but that's all I wanted to say. FAIL Damn. I feel bad for you guys. Reading these stories, I'd just keep walking if I saw him now I guess. I guess that's why they say don't meet your hero's.
