  1. I get where you are coming from, it seems like I have ended up with extra stuff over the years from this habit! I get stuff "fresh off the press" as you say, and then one of my sisters thinks later on it would be a great gift for me! (they have pretty busy lives) so I end up with another copy or cd. Grateful but trying to get rid of extras these days.
  2. Yes, I was impressed he was so open about it. A lot of people would figure it was over with and not worth mentioning. I know Alex has talked about it but didn't know that about Geddy.
  3. Geddy (actually the book ) is here! I'm about 300 pages in and really liking it!
  4. Thanks for the tip! I am trying to get the audio through our public library app.
  5. I got an email that mine is on the way! Of course I have appointments to run to tomorrow so I'll probably find it on the porch at the end of the day. There's always Tuesday night and Wednesday!
  6. That was very enjoyable! Finally got to watch it today. With keeping a close eye on my mom, it's as close as I will get right now. Thanks!
  7. I enjoyed that, thanks for posting it!
  8. Thank you for your service, Jack! Thank you also, JohnRogers! Shout out to my late dad, USN, Korean War era. He spent a lot of time in the Aleutians, watching for Soviet Union aircraft and ships. I grew up in a whole neighborhood of those guys, and miss them. My best friend's dad- Battle of the Bulge. My father in law- North Africa, fighting Rommel. My cousin- flew a Huey helicopter in Vietnam to med evac wounded guys. My friend's dad- served in Pearl Harbour (after the attack.) . We were all too young to appreciate their stories and they didn't usually want to tell them to their kids, but we were proud they were part of something bigger than themselves. Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served! I appreciate you!
  9. Happy Birthday, ST3V !! I hope it's a great one for you- enjoy the weekend! Cheers!
  10. Thank you for both links! Have a Post subscription, but didn't know about the Toronto Star article! Excited to have the book come Tuesday!
  11. I will have to look for those! I had just seen Night of the Hunter recently so that strange preacher was stuck in my mind! I like film noir so I'll have to look for Angel Face.
  12. Oh no! It stinks when the favorite tech thing has to get repaired. Yeah, the movie was pretty good. Not used to seeing Robert Mitchum as a good guy that much!
  13. . . No, I was trying to post a picture of Robert Mitchum! . I can't figure out how on my phone. I watched Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison. Robert Mitchum was a Marine in WWII and Deborah Kerr was a nun. They were stuck on this island and he fell in love with her. In the end he respected her and helped the US Navy drive out the Japanese, go Robert! It was corny but pretty good. I didn't know until the end it was a John Houston movie. Have you ever seen it? I guess it was on for Remembrance Day.
  14. . Rick Santorum was our Senator but he is not well liked here. A neighbor went to law school with him and said, "Most of us stuck together to study but he was the guy that didn't get along with anyone. " Not a big surprise!
  15. His baseball room is really impressive! I'm glad you could read the article, my husband and has a subscription and half the time I have trouble getting it to load.
  16. This article is a nice review of Geddy's baseball fandom and his collection. He's auctioning some next month. I hope this link works as the Athletic site acts weird on the best of days. You all should be able to read one article without creating an account (I hope.) (Plus I have a question on that 3000 hit ball but I will save it for the autobiography tour!) https://theathletic.com/5022106/2023/11/06/geddy-lee-rush-baseball-collection/?fbclid=IwAR3uNj5tnkqRSovmvzj7dOUjR7Wj2NyqQuHuqQDJy4pjOSNHJyOEWujpvcY
  17. Happy 14th Anniversary, BHR !! Lucky us on the Rush forum, and na zdrowie!
  18. Thanks! It turns out he is a bass player and Geddy is his inspiration. My husband was like, I won't even ask why you are asking an unknown guy to return to the house, I know Rush fans find each other. . I had more Rush stuff than I realized and I'm glad to share it with someone that will appreciate it.
  19. We dragged home (much too much) stuff when my mom's house was sold this summer after 55 years. A hauling crew came today to junk some of it. The one guy was all of 20, but noticed my AFTK album on the sofa! It turns out Rush is his favorite band! We had a good conversation, it was fun to meet another Rush fan! It dawned on me too late that I have multiples upon multiples of some Rush books and DVDs. I have left a message with the office to tell him to swing by, I have a bag of stuff for him! Share the love!
