  1. YESSSSSSSSS. . . . . . .Another slumber party favorite from the 60's & 70's! It was always fun to put on a whole stack of 45's. :D
  2. Happy Belated Birthday, JB!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader: I always enjoy reading your movie postings!
  3. Wow, such good oldies listed today; I'll have them running through my head for days! I always love the girl groups and so many things all these songs remind me of. Thanks everyone!
  4. Here's Narp being interviewed on the TV News!!!! http://www.wfmynews2...nship/32247181/ This was awesome! Narps the newsmaker! They picked a great person to interview!
  5. Yes. They are gone now. The clean-up crew is hard at work trying to get the place is some kind of order. :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:    :7up: :7up: :7up:
  6. Lorraine, so did I miss this in another thread?? Does this mean THE problem neighbors have left?? And I agree with you and disagree with some here, sorry. Everyone knows those words but people who have been around awhile choose not to use them because they know others will be judging them. Most just won't tell you. Stone, best wishes to your son starting his new career! He sounds awesome!
  7. I have had the same Nokia cell phone (all it does is call and text) for like forever. I had it out at check out at Kohl's to see the time and the clerk (about 16) was like, "Can I see that? I've never seen one without a camera! How does it work?" He was serious, not sarcastic. He was very impressed when I told him it costs me $ 7.00 a month . . . . :laughing guy: :laughing guy:
  8. Oh shit, I'm supposed to see them on the 25th. Looks like that might not be happening now. Hopefully just a 24 hour thing and not a broken nose, ha ha, although actually that would have better, the show still went on with that. With a full 48+ hrs to rest I bet they put on an awesome show on the 25th!
  9. I just showed my husband your photos, he is very jealous!! He has been a Deep Purple fan for forever, including the Glenn Hughes years. Wow, Glenn Hughes, and Doug Aldrich, that must have been an excellent show! We ( near Hershey, PA) were supposed to have Van Halen tonight but they cancelled at the last minute saying David Lee Roth has the flu. I didn't have tix but bummer for those that did.
  10. Wow, this stinks for the Van Halen fans in central PA! Diamond Dave has the flu and the whole show is cancelled . . . . . it's too bad because it was outdoors and it is a beautiful, beautiful night here! http://www.pennlive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/08/van_halen_concert_reportedly_c.html
  11. I'm jealous! Saw them very briefly one time and have always wanted to see them again!
  12. New mailbox post and bracket. Ours was rusting out and the worst in the neighborhood although I'm probably overthinking it.
  13. In a lower register I assume I try not to, but kind of impossible Yes, it is. I've sung along to it in a normal voice before and it just doesn't fit. You have to sing it high. Not as high as Geddy (I haven't been able to do that since I was in high school) but you still have to use the higher range of your voice. I feel bad for people who have a deep voice, they can never properly sing along to the 70s stuff ;) The 70's stuff suits me well since I obviously have a higher voice range! :P I find myself singing along with "Fly By Night" and "Beneath, Between and Behind" in the car but forget about "Anthem"; I just have to be quiet and let Geddy rip that one out!
  14. Two of my sister's favorites- Crazy Elephant- Gimme Gimme Good Lovin 1969 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI403cCUSCM American Breed- Bend Me Shape Me https://www.youtube....t=RDzarsqZCXO8Y
  15. I love the old footage from the 60s, and this is a great video. It sounds like they are performing live, not lip synching? The YouTube caption says this is from BBC Sunday Night At The London Palladium on 03/10/1965 and several people mention in the comments that it was live back then so that is what I am thinking, yes, performing live. It was always fun to watch American Bandstand but it kind of stunk that Dick Clark ALWAYS had the groups lip sync; some of them didn't even care and it was kind of disheartening!
  16. It is awesome family viewing. It's one of the few things our sports loving and non sports loving kids will all sit down and watch together for hours.
  17. I like your writing style and Finding My Way is a favorite of mine as well. I'll be interested to see your other reviews! And now you will have a record of them somewhere to look at later. As EagleMoon said, (and I agree) sometimes it's surprising how a feeling about a song can change either with repeated listenings or with the passing of time before you hear it again.
  18. The Hollies- Look Through Any Window 1965 Graham Nash was in the Hollies then and is on the far left, playing guitar; he doesn't get much camera time but you can hear his distinctive harmonies! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1E-9ZwoKnA
  19. The Hollies- Long Cool Woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP94PlEtsEQ
  20. My sister and I wanted to be Go Go dancers as well. We thought it would just be the BEST to be able to dance on top of the interesting stuff they were always dancing on top of on TV! :P
  21. Nope! I'm here, so that makes two of us. Anyone else out there? Welcome Musical Override! Nice to have you here! :)
  22. :yay: :yay: :yay: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: Happy 11th Anniversary TRF!! A great place to be!!
  23. Excellent movie but the theme song stays in your head for days!! :D
  24. I think you will really enjoy it; it has a very uplifting message and is based on a real life story. My daughter lives near the actual high school now, outside Washington, DC. Cool. Hard to go wrong with Denzel. Even when one of his flicks is subpar, he never is. I recently saw Hurricane on Showtime. He should have had that Oscar instead of Spacey and this is someone who LOVES American Beauty. They're both great movies that I love and yeah I'd agree that Denzel had the better performance. Ah well, it's all opinion anyway. I saw Malcolm X not long ago and he was excellent in that as well. Movie itself was a bit choppy; I think it helped that I had to read the book, "Autobiography of Malcolm X" for a class years ago. It helped me follow what happened in the end when he turned against the Nation of Islam and the retribution; movie covered that kind of quickly and maybe was a bit confusing.
