  1. I get the point here, but I think if you can nail 10,000+ butts down to their seats that is quite the command and power of the music you are pumping out.
  2. This is a killer. If I didn't have a wife with 2 children, I'd be going tomorrow!
  3. For me, I think I would have also chosen differents '90s/'00s songs, but they aren't going to make everyone happy and only have so much time anyway. To the OP, I think your observation is a decent description of where I am at with this set. I think it is the first one that will have any debate.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if it was alternated with Xanadu. I think the show in Lincoln will answer this question.
  5. There were some nice selections in the first set and some songs that didn't blow my mind so much. Oh well. I am going twice.
  6. Yes, I realize I am the "meh" vote, but I chalk that up more to the first set rather than the second set.
  7. Neurotica and Heresy would be nice. So would The Speed of Love and Bravest Face.
  8. I would like to add that, with the exception of the R30 and Snakes and Arrows tours, every tour has had the opening song be the opening song from an album. I'd bet that on that happening, but maybe it will not be like that. We'll know tonight!
  9. There was someone who had mentioned seeing a pic on Facebook of this (with the black pearl pickguard), but it has yet to materialize (and maybe it won't).
  10. I'd love to see a seafoam green option. That's probably my favorite color on a guitar or a bass. I sold my GL jazz last year, and would like to eventually have 2 more. I have considered doing a refin on one of seafoam green and losing the pickguard. We'll see. I may get a red pearl guard (a la drop D bass on the last tour) or refinish it in a color that would have been available in 1972 (Lake Placid Blue being my likely choice).
  11. I concur. I think cutting out the intro to Vital Signs and just starting with the cymbal crashes would be a good move on this. I would also cut out that last F (I believe that is the final root note played on Chemistry) and then going into Vital Signs would work. Maybe I should make a mash-up of that to see. I was thinking something like starting with the cymbal crashes on Vital Signs. As in starting with Vital Signs?

  13. The Kid Gloves part bums me out a bit, but I will believe this when the first couple setlists are released.
  14. I won't disagree. I think they are probably the founders of what is now called progressive metal, but by the time that phrase started its employment Rush had moved on from doing that music.
  15. I too, am hoping for Limbo. Cut to the Chase would be sweet, as would Everyday Glory. We will see.
  16. That's what I was referring to. That singing the vocals down worked for that song. It may for some, but I'm not sold it would work on all of them.
  17. It worked for A Passage to Bangkok, so maybe it would for others. I think the big question would be if Rush wants to do key changes (again, I think it would work for some stuff but I think it would be more interesting if they tried that out song by song rather than just tuning down a step for everything. We'll see what happens).
  18. I think some of the power of the song would be lost with a drop that big in the vocal. FWIW I have a version of Hemispheres I plugged through Audacity a whole step down and I think this tune would work in that key. IMO it may be best to take the key change thing song by song (a la The Police on their reunion tour). Some songs it would suit better than others. IIRC Geddy also said they did not wish to change the key of this song. Having done the same as above for Hemispheres, I think that tune would hit pretty hard in C# standard tuning.
  19. I am glad to see this. It would be nice to see Fender make a green version of the GL jazz (even if what we have here is Sea Foam and the one with '70s spacing is surf).
  20. While I don't disagree that the sonics could have been better at this time, I think that using the Counterparts equipment for Presto may have been a jump so big in the sound that it may have turned some off. Because of this, I think what they used did a good job of capturing the material (even if it could have been better). And the big fat sound probably wouldn't have worked with most of that material anyway. It sure does work with the Counterparts material though - I really enjoy that album. But who wants a band to record the same album over and over? I love that they try new things all the time. Even if it doesn't always work. I think it would have worked with at least some of those Presto tunes (I think that jazz bass would have suited Show Don't Tell and the Pass nicely at least). I base this opinion on subsequent performances of Presto material. Edited to add: We'll never know though. I think that not doing that was better than some give it credit for, and I'm glad it can't be changed.

  22. To my ears, this seems to have been a problem from Hold Your Fire up to this tour (with things finally straightening out on the Test For Echo tour). I will add that if you can find it, he did a great job (to me) with this on the San Diego stop on this tour.
  23. So you couldn't receive a WeTransfer file or even arrange a trade with someone?
  24. It was dropped by this point in the tour, with its final appearance being on July 16, 1984 in Quebec City, Quebec. Excellent first post! Welcome! Yes, welcome! Is your username a Queen reference? Nope.
