Here''s to hoping the live show is a date that has no circulating audience recording.

I recently visited the R&R HOF and some Rush stuff was displayed

It's wild to see that Red Barchetta and Ghost of a Chance swapped in that setlist. -

My guess is that the full Manchester 1980 show is released in 2020. -

Cutting away pieces = I will not buy it. Edited to add: I am with thizzellewashington on this. -
There is at least one photo showing use of a Jazz Bass.

I thought the Ric showed up in '67?
-
Funny you mention a refin, since I suspect at least 1 other R40 bass was also refinished.

While Merely Players does have some questionable info, that white Steinberger has been documented both in photos and videos (Springfield '87, St. Louis '88, Miami '90, and East Rutherford '90 all show this bass). There is also a photo from the St. Louis show in December 1978 showing him with a 4-string Ric that is not black (but for me, it is hard to tell if it is white or mapleglo).

I just saw an ad for this this afternoon on AXS. Is anyone else planning on watching this or recording it? I am curious to know exactly what will be discussed.

What's your random encounter with a famous person?
78jazz replied to HemiBeers's topic in Video Vertigo
Meeting Tommy Morrison working a VIP booth at a music fest in 2006. It took me a few seconds to recognize him. He said he was making a return to boxing, which I thought odd. How odd to later hear that he was going to attempt just that. -
Hey guys! I know "I can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend" but I am flattered and honored that both you 78 and URT responded to my thread. I seriously do try to be creative on here after 12 years. Not sure how people on here put up with me but I am a happy camper. You are both refreshing! RUSH FOREVER! GENESIS TOO!! Listening to "Fifth Of Firth" right now. My God, it never gets old. Like Mercury Records Rush Music. LOL! Cheers! This is a good one. I truly never understood the love TCE gets when there are much better Rush epics. I think this song made more sense as it was performed on the Signals tour.

If they are a parody, then they are BRILLIANT.

This is hard for me, as I think that Rivendell, I'm Think I'm Going Bold, Superconductor, Face Up, Dog Years, and The Stars Look Down are all pretty awful. The rest I think are decent to superb.

it really is but hey, if they player gets enjoyment out of it, I suppose it might be worth it me I'll just go ahead and not throw any personal funds into those pools Everyone is paying for some person to get rich every week. And who's to say that some of these people aren't company fakes? How does anyone know that anyone actually takes home the prize? If I recall, many states have some kind of rule that the winner must be publicly disclosed to stop that from happening, apparently. If I won a lottery I'd wanna be anonymous, lol. Makes me glad I live in a state where I can be anonymous!

What throws me for a loop on that bass is if it is truly blonde or olympic white that has yellowed. While it is a nice bass, I feel like I have yet to see a picture or video that accurately represents the body and seeing R40 twice did not help (thanks, stage lights).

While I am hardly an insider, my guess is that with it being the 40th anniversary we will. I hope that not only does that happen, but part of the deluxe edition includes a soundboard from the band's archive on this tour (and ideally, a date that has no audience source available). Edit: To stay on topic with this, my guess is that based on past comments, the band has no soundboards from this tour. With the sales it had at the time (and I forget if it has hit gold or platinum) and the way the band seems to view the album in retrospect, I am not surprised that it had no 40th anniversary edition.

Probably. Ugh...

If both shows were captured, where is the first night?!
