  1. QUOTE (Alien Girl @ May 15 2006, 12:19 PM)How would I EVER know anything about our government if it weren't for Schoolhouse Rock? When we had to do the whole constitution thing in the 8th grade I seriously got in front of the class and sang the pre-amble the same way SHR did...it was really easy to remember with the tune flowing We the PEOPLE in ORDER to form a more perfect UNION establish JUSTICE ensure domestic TRANQUILITYEEEE EEEE EEEEE

  11. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Nov 23 2004, 04:39 PM) I'm pretty sure as soon as we opened up shop, all the other boards decided to close down Well that was the vicious rumor the first week of this boards existense. Although I have never met any of the admins. I have spoken to RR on the phone a few times ( including a particularly funny call from the Philadelphia airport ), anyway, I got the link the first night.

    Misheard Words

I've posted this before, but in "Show Don't Tell" I thought for the longest time that the line: "I'll give it due reflection" was "I won't give in to perfection" and considering that it was written by Neil I never questioned it.
  13. I had to go with the VT's tour. I saw 1 show on the VT tour from the lawn at St. Louis and 3 shows on the R30 tour all in the first 5 rows, but after all of the events that happened and not knowing if I would ever see them again I have to give the edge to VT. It had been YEARS since my last show and I was unspoiled for it. I took my oldest child to her first RUSH show and she cried when the music began and the exchange between Pixey and I when they began to play Cygnus is something that I will never forget. R30 was awesome and I finally got to meet G&A, but it wasn't nearly as overwhelming as VT's. Now XM is a different story!!!!!!
  14. I can't believe that this thread has been neglected since Aug. 27. Where the hell are Cyg and DaveyT. How could you let this happen which one of those guys are you???? 4:20 is back baby. http://web.valley.net/files/enfieldpolice/marijuana2.jpg
  15. I haven't even seen his name brought up yet so how about Syd Barret and Syd Barret. Syd's voice was so good and when he joined the band in '65' Water's was told to start playing bass so Syd could play guitar. Original Pink Floyd IMO is still way better than anything released since then, except maybe Animals. Syd could also play a wide array of other instruments, I think on 'Live at Pompeii' he only plays piano with very wide eyes.
  16. I hate when this question comes up and I usually go with "Hemispheres" with "Counterparts" coming in a close second. This time, however I did go with "Counterparts". Like "HYF" for BSG this album means so much to me emotionally. When it first came out my first thought was 'Damn, they're rocking HEAVY again', and a few months later my life was turned upside down and this album was all I listened to, no matter whatever happens RUSH is always there for me. CP always will hold a SPECIAL place with me.
  17. QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Sep 9 2004, 03:53 PM) I've been 29 for a years now. I've also been 29 for several years now, I'm just glad to hear that I'm not the only one.
  18. The first time we showed our kids the video 'Darn That Dragon' ,the opening video for the 2nd set of the current tour, our 8 y/o stood there and named the albums off as they were referenced. "The dice from 'Roll the Bones', The FBN owl like on daddy's back"etc then near the end of it our 6 y/o said "the dragon is in the starman pose" The 8 y/o also watches RUSH videos' everytime that he gets on the pc, straight to launch and 'Nobody's Hero', we now regret not taking him this summer so he will definately be going next time.
  19. Thanks for changing the name of the thread. Now we need to break it in!!!
  20. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 24 2004, 10:59 PM)All day long I listen to people give me excuses why they can't work. "My back hurts." "My legs ache." "I'm only four!!" The Santa Clause GB has me thinking holidays
  21. The Enemy Within?? Pounding in your temples And a surge of adrenaline
  22. X-1 Book 2 Hemispheres 'Apollo was astonished Dionysus thought me mad'
  23. This is the easiest one of all the albums for me. Cut to the Chase all the way, this song seems to represent so much about how my life was going at the time. I absolutely loved it from the very first time that I heard it. The country intro(Cold Fire) from the boot is cool too RR. I had forgotten about that until Pixey brought it home from Scranton. We saw 2 shows on that tour and they did that at both of them.
