Big rock clash: Queen VS Aerosmith?
Entre_Perpetuo replied to Texas King's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Hm... A Night At The Opera / A Day At The Races vs. Toys In The Attick / Rocks Yep! Hot Space vs. Rock In a Hard Place Haven't listened to the second one...but I still imagine the answer is yep on account of Under Pressure alone. Rock in a Hard Place is actually a very good album. Lightning Strikes is better than any song in Queen's entire discography. Name a better Queen song. You can't, can you? :) Bohemian Rhapsody Killer Queen My Melancholy Blues Nevermore Somebody To Love You're My Best Friend The Show Must Go On Breakthru Don't Stop Me Now Save Me also: The March Of The Black Queen The Millionaire Waltz Tie Your Mother Down Fat Bottomed Girls Ogre Battle Brighton Rock Stone Cold Crazy Another One Bites The Dust Dragon Attack It's Late Spread Your Wings Get Down, Make Love The Prophet's Song Crazy Little Thing Called Love Life Is Real (Song For Lennon) Seven Seas Of Rhye Keep Yourself Alive Liar Great King Rat Hammer To Fall One Vision A Kind Of Magic Who Wants To Live Forever Princes Of The Universe I Want It All Innuendo I'm Going Slightly Mad Was It All Worth It It's A Beautiful Day Made In Heaven and so much more. I skipped so much. oh yeah, AND Under Pressure. ;) -
Your favorite grunge-era album?

Lol, that's what I was trying to get at earlier with the "grunge doesn't exist" thing. -
The Way A Lyric Is Sung or the Music Behind It
Entre_Perpetuo replied to Lorraine's topic in Music Of The Spheres
"Lord of Lords, Has returned to lead His children Home to take them to the New Jerusalem!" --Peter Gabriel, Genesis I have a spiritual reaction to this moment. And the way Steve's guitar weeps at the end...so real. -

Yeah but have you tried Hot Space though? I have listened to every queen album and I've mentioned this several times lol I even tried again in order a couple of years back and I just hated it. One of these days, that one will click with you, just my hunch. -

I just listened to Innuendo the other night. I swear I got more out of it than I have since this time last year. It's a much deeper record than I thought at first, so much Queen dna embedded in there. If I'm not careful, it could slip into my top 5 Queen, lol. LOL - Innuendo is absolutely in my Top 5 Queen :) ANATO QII NOTW SHA Miracle Innuendo ADATR AKOM QI Works Jazz Game HS MIH is unrankable, in a good way. so yeah not quite in my top 5, lol. Hm... News Of The World Innuendo Queen 2 Night at the Opera The Game Sheer Heart Attack and Q1 are right there too.... Mostly on the same page I see, minus The Game. I'm not exactly sure why but The Game frustrates me to no end. Side 2 for me is listenable almost solely because of Save Me at the end. Coming Soon is their worst song imo. -

Knowing Segue, it'll start with Hot Space than he'll write an essay on the brilliance of it, lol. I would enjoy hot Space if Queen didn't make it.......oddly, lol Mick To many another band, it'd be an experimental masterpiece. To Queen, it was oddly focused, almost safe but then not really, and just not very Queeny. -

How about Queen instead? A couple of weeks ago I was in a store when Another One Bites The Dust came on and it put an instant smile on my face because all I could see in my mind was Freddy prancing around the stage with his royal robe and crown on. :) -

Try being me. I love it! Yeah, lol. I'm just listening and I'm like, why do people hate this? It's not bad at all really, it's just a different style. Actually, I really prefer Hatfield's vocals here than anywhere else, much more attitude, much realer. -

Nirvana's from Seattle, REM's from Athens...so probably not? -

Among The Living is better than Master Of Puppets and Reign In Blood. It's so much fun, it's so intense, it's so well crafted and well written and well played. It's thrash perfection. This is the definition of thrash to me.

Music is my anchor right now. REM and grunge. Actually pleased I've come back to both. I burned myself on the style around ten years ago so...it at last all feels fresh and new again. You know Kurt Cobain meant to work with REM before he passed away. As much as those bands aren't usually my cup of tea, I'd have been really interested in that combo, too bad it never happened. -
Uh oh. Your new venture into the world metal will be nowhere near as rewarding if you don't care for the voice of Bruce almighty. It's not that I don't care for it, but it's just not a highlight for me.

I didn't realize you liked REM so much. i respect them. but it's like.......their a little to cold and distant for me. i don't know if you pick that up. but it's like that's a barrier i can't get past. but i love stipe's voice. Peter Gabriel solo vs non-Peter Gabriel Genesis
Entre_Perpetuo replied to YYZumbi's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Cannot vote here. Can't lose either. In Your Eyes is reason enough to keep Gabriel in my life forever, and Collins era Genesis is just too beautiful, too good at what they did. And I don't care if no one else likes Illegal Alien, it's catchy and funny and on the best 80s Genesis album. -
10th anniversary this week! Great Rush album? Good Rush album? Lackluster Rush album? Roll The Bones? Whatever you see it as, it's ten years old today, so happy birthday/anniversary to this most middling of Rush albums!

Bruce doesn't do much for me, especially when compared to Rob Halford. Ozzy's no Rob either, but he's way more intoxicating. Ozzy every day.
