  1. I chop and change with Toto. Aside from Hydra, every album at some point has been a major favourite for at least a little while. Hydra? The material shines live. I cant get into the studio album at all.
  2. I am going to try an old favourite, Toto. This is based on recent listening, and my overall love for them: 1. Fahrenheit 2. Isolation 3. Tambu 4. Mindfields 5. Kingdom Of Desire 6. IV 8. Toto 9. The Seventh One 10. XIV 11. Falling In Between 12. Turn Back 13. Hydra 14. Old Is New 15. Through The Looking Glass Toto may have had their best years in the eighties, but overall I think my favourite period is the nineties.
  3. Pearl Jam and In Flames the last two days. Yawn, I am boring: Pearl Jam- Binaural Pearl Jam- Riot Act Pearl Jam- Pearl Jam Pearl Jam- Backspacer Pearl Jam- Lightning Bolt In Flames- Reroute To Remain In Flames- Soundtrack To Your Escape In Flames- Come Clarity In Flames- Siren Charms
  4. My ranking is pretty identical to yours! Malina is amazing to me
  5. Amazing band, for a second I got excited wondering if this was a new release. I haven't thought about them for years, but I used to loce post hardcore and the experimental bands of that time, and Oceansize alongside Areogramme were sorely underrated. See also Planes Mistaken For Stars.
  6. When I became a fan around 2005/06, the experimental era was HATED. With every new album, I find more and more fans respect this era more. When all is said and done, Paradise Lost have always been able to adapt their sound to any style. They are incredibly special to me.
  7. Pearl Jam Namely, Lightning Bolt and Binaural.
  8. Pearl Jam- Lightning Bolt This is just a fantastic album. Currently in my top three PJ albums.
  9. Saxon- Hell, Fire And Damnation My album of the year so far. I can't stop playing it!
  10. It's definitely a brilliant work. I wish WISH I connected more with them. But hey, it happens
  11. Personally, it's all so shiny sounding but I find d it an empty experience. Muse are extremely talented but kinda soulless.
  12. Now: Pearl Jam- Lightning Bolt This is such a great album.
  13. Cathedral- Forest Of Equilibrium This doom metal classic never gets old.
  14. Let me try Saxon, even though I have yet to hear everything: 1. Wheels Of Steel 2. Saxon 3. Dogs Of War 4. Hell, Fire And Damnation 5. Strong Arm Of The Law 6. Denim And Leather 7. Thunderbolt 8. Carpe Diem 9. Solid Ball Of Rock 10. Crusader 11. Destiny 12. Power And The Glory 13. Rock The Nations 14. Innocence Is No Excuse 15. Forever Free I have nine more albums to eventually rank. I hear they are mostly killer, so I look forward to that I enjoy all these albums. Some are a mixed bag (Crusader), others are classics for a reason (Wheels Of Steel), and I think their last three albums are pretty fantastic, especially Hell, Fire And Damnation, which is currently my album of 2024.
  15. There "return to their roots" is exactly how all bands should do it. They brought back doom, but not once did they sound like they were trying to recapture their past.
  16. I feel that this is where PL peaked: Gothic Draconian Times Faith Divides/Tragic Idol (that one two punch was INCREDIBLE) Obsidian I want to add the self titled and/or In Requiem, but this is where I really saw DT flourish Obsidian suffered for being a goth metal album during a lockdown, and no tour, bur amongst fans it's incredible
  17. I love this album. But I hear why it changed the game in 1995, I also hear how it's been bettered since, by PL and others. But the first time I heard it, it was my first goth metal album outside LC. So it impacted MASSIVELY. I love it, I love it so much...but I feel people miss out thinking its the last word in its style.
  18. Saxon are such a special band to me. Not sure why being slightly less than other bands is cause to dismiss them. They may not have an abundance of 10's, but they have a huge number of terrific 8's. I'm glad they are doing great with Priest. Because they are not newbies.
