  1. I will admit my Springsteen taste leans more towards his more bombastic side, but Nebraska is a stunning example of a master storyteller at the peak of his powers.
  2. Springsteen is one of the greatest artists of any form or medium in history. Haters can go take a trip to the pooper and flush themselves.
  3. Nebraska? The Seeger Sessions? Magic? The River has some fantastic moments. Tunnel Of Love is moving. Human Touch and Lucky Town have a lot of great songs (and plenty of filler). The Ghost Of Tom Joad is an underrated classic. The Rising is incredibly moving and beautifully produced, a River for the 21st century. Wrecking Ball is a combination of classic Springsteen and his folkier leanings that he has embraced a lot in recent years. We can forget about High Hopes, Working On A Dream and Devils And Dust, but my goodness...the b-sides, the unreleased bootleg lost classics, the outstanding live performances...he has never been in a creative rut. He has been consistently amazing for DECADES! After his fourth album, he released three albums that on their own terms have little in common with his earlier work. I love him! Agreed, nothing truly comes close to his first four albums BUT he has never truly lost his way.
  4. Never heard of him. Which normally equates as awesome! Will have to check him out ASAP!
  5. When I first played Rush to my friends they presumed I was playing another femme metal band. Sigh.

  7. Agreed. Except any opinion on Springsteen other than "he sucks" really cannot be valid. You suck
  8. Agreed but I want dumb action, minimum. The fourth film in a franchise rarely, if ever, should be expected to match the stellar quality of the first. Just bring the popcorn, take the friends, have a laugh. And then come on this forum and tear to shreds. That is my approach to this film. I remember hating the trailers for most of the Pixar films, so I now wait to see the film before I judge. Well, those Cars movies were lame, though. Agreed.
  9. Bruce Springsteen's new album is utter crap! Like major turd. And I am a massive Springsteen fan. High Hopes was worse than the flu. A curse of the winter period. Craaaaaap!!
  10. Yeah all these guys get my vote. Not even a fan of any of these, but I really respect them all!

  12. Yes. Yes I want that! I want to go to there. I will support that right. Now hand me the pussy!
  13. I hate Star Wars and Dragonforce. Through the fire and the flames is a guilty pleasure of mine tho
  14. But didn't you like the CGI Great White shark? A homage to "Jaws!" LOL I thought the cgi looked ten times better myself! Ditto! Oh and I'm glad you have ABBA on your list. They Rule. I've written a few ABBA threads on this board before. Since it's my thread I will highjack. Did you pick up the new live double cd album? On vinyl too!!! Played it. Loved it. Will buy asap! Really glad to have a live recording of If It Wasn't For The Nights. Adore that song! ABBA rule

  16. Geddy covering Night Fever would be epic. Actually, any classic Bee Gees song!
  17. You should both meet up! Eat cupcakes
  18. Agreed. But Geddy is an integral part of the Rush sound. Replace him and you have nothing. I have my favourite singers who I prefer, but never would I choose them to replace him. But would I like to hear Perry cover Rush? Yesssss!
  19. I prefer Geddy You might prefer him, but Steve Perry could blow him off stage. Yeah but Perry handle stuff like The Weapon or 2112? NOOOOOO
  20. Wouldn't fit in my view. It didn't really even fit Journeys style at the time but they changed it to suit him and it worked. Sort of like what happened with Chicago when Peter Cetera stepped more up front. They became mostly a ballad band. Great ones too I might add in both bands cases.... Geddy would not suit any other band. No other singer would suit Rush. All perfect pieces in a pretty nifty puzzle!
  21. At least we value Presto. I went back and popped in Presto. It lasted about 30 seconds. Clockwork Angels is superior in every way possible Carnies, Halo Effect, The Anarchist, The Garden are songs that don't do anything for me. A little ouch on these 3. They are actually good in my view especially Halo Effect. Just my opinion of course... :) CA has no rubbish as far as I am concerned. But to many "good" songs to my ears. Rush have many albums where the majority or tracks I deem to be "great". On that we can agree. I am probably more drawn to The Garden and Halo Effect because they are not bombastic and overdone like the rest of the recording overall..... I still think Rush did a grand job on CA. For what it is, it is great, especially for a forty year old band in 2012. But as far as I am concerned, when it comes to Rush and their albums, it doesn't come close to anything from CoS to Presto or Vapor Trails. I am certain I also prefer Counterparts and Roll The Bones. As for T4E and SA, CA is superior (but only just). CA no longer grabs me. I know many find it very impressive, but I just find a lot of the songs to ordinary, the production is hideous (I never took notice until I became more familiar with the classics), and the musicianship is just...well...nothing matches the excitement of Hemispheres. Songs like The Garden and Halo Effect are ok, but they pale in comparison to older slower Rush tunes, like Available Light, The Twilight Zone or Witch Hunt. And tracks like Headlong Flight or BU2B don't come close to the likes of Red Barchetta or Bastille Day (but I will admit to really loving HF). With the exception of Vapor Trails of course, I agree with pretty much all of this. The Cupcake Warrior knows his stuff!!.... Thanks Dude! I love me Cupcake Warrior thingy!
