  1. This. I do not find myself influenced by the negative opinions, but sometimes the positive ones will make me give something a (second) try.
  2. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the huge gauges/plugs either. When it's unclear whether or not that's a donut attached to your ear or the ear itself, then the hole is too big
  3. It's very pretty, but also looks like it was made with all the leftover bits of different crayons :D
  4. I've got no problem with them at all.
  5. Hi Lucas, You can take him to the vet for a nail trimming and they will immobilize him, possibly by turning him into a "doggy burrito", and a muzzle if necessary. Sedation would only be required if the dog was large and dangerous. It will probably cost something like $20. His nails might wear down on the sidewalks, but keep a close eye on them because if they don't wear down they could cause him pain or get caught in something. From what I can see they don't look too long right now. Best of luck with the cute little guy :)
  6. It's been almost ten years since I've eaten meat, and I can't imagine ever eating it again.
  7. Oh yes, this. For too many years of my life my weekends were all about getting drunk. Now I can't even remember the last time I was drunk ... probably at least six years ago. I still enjoy drinking wine and beer, but stop as soon as I feel anything from it.
  8. A friend pointed out that I am in this trailer! From :05 to :11, first row about third from the right. Whee! (Although I wish I had been a little more animated at that very moment :P )
  9. One thing I don't recall seeing mentioned in this thread is the fact that Rush WAS influenced by electronic music in the past. It's no secret how they got to that sound on Signals and the following few albums - they listened to a lot of modern (at the time) electronic music. In his latest book, Neil mentions that he/they were listening to a lot of dance music during the 80s, and they pulled inspiration from that.
  10. :( Where do you live now (if you don't mind me asking)? Oakland, but in the hills, on the east side. (Not that far away, but a completely different feel here.)
  11. More wonderful travel photos, thank you! (Sadly, the Thai tiger temple abused its tigers and the animals there were all drugged. 137 live tigers, 40 dead cubs, plus other dead animals were confiscated from there earlier this year :( http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/06/40-dead-tiger-cubs-thailand-temple-freezer-160601073454481.html)
  12. Very nice photos. Thank you rhyv for bumping the thread :) I think it's very important that people visit places like S-21 and The Killing Fields (as well as Nazi concentration camps and American internment camps). These are part of our history and they are things that should never be forgotten, but to most people (most Americans, at least, and probably Europeans and Asians as well) these locations and the events that happened there are shrouded in the mists of time and distance. Visiting those places means you learn about the events, and the local/world situations that lead up to them. Having visited Auschwitz, Birkenau, and Dachau and having stood inside a gas chamber where six million innocent people were killed I can tell you it is a sobering, life-changing thing, and you will do whatever you can to make sure that sort of thing never happens again.
  13. Also, San Francisco. For years I loved The City and loved living there, especially when I was at the point in my life where I was DJing at clubs and going out multiple nights each week. Then my lifestyle changed and I gradually fell out of love and moved away. Now I hate it everytime I have to go back there, and that has extended to disliking urban environments in general.
  14. (That title is a bit awkward grammatically, isn't it? But I wanted to get the idea across in a short sentence!) We've all had something that at one point we really loved, but for whatever reason, over time we came to no longer like it. What sorts of things has this happened with in your life? Here's one for starters: My ex-husband!
  15. That's a very cool looking plant! I only made it to 2:30, and the image throughout that period was blurry!
  16. No. Sleep is a priority for me. Would you sleep until noon everyday if you could?
  17. I went go kart racing for the first time today, for a friend's birthday. It was a lot of fun! I wouldn't mind going again :)
  18. Yes. And I flossed. Do you regularly floss your teeth?
  19. I hope they both return, along with Troutman. He's been AWOL for awhile now.
  20. Even , in the heyday of thrash i cant remember if it even happened. The only release i didnt realky care for was slayers, You know, I used to like Slayer but now I think all their songs sound the same. I don't dislike them, but they're not very interesting.
  21. Exactly. I find the musical opinions of others interesting, but I'm never swayed. I enjoy what I enjoy and that's not changing because of some outside commentary. I am not weak minded, BUT I do at times find myself pondering why someone doesn't like certain aspects of something when I otherwise would not. That's me though Oh, I hear you. My opinions are always right so I cannot comprehend why others do not understand this!
  22. What things do I have zero interest in? Celebrity crap Reality TV Most other stuff on TV Most popular music Sports in general Our current culture of "the cheaper the better" Las Vegas Video games Getting drunk Hatred Intolerance Politics Religion Ignorance
  23. :bump: Hey, I just noticed blueschica does not have a member title. And with ~3700 posts, she's due! What would be a good title for her?
