  1. I'm going to see Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and Conspirators at the Pechanga Theater on August 9th. Going to see Alter Bridge with California Breed opening at the Wiltern Theater on October 26.
  2. I've heard of Lindsey Stirling from Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale as she sang a track from Stirling's new album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49tpIMDy9BE After hearing that, I took a listen of her catalog and enjoyed it. It's good listening music while playing online games.
  3. I somewhat liked Test for Echo. I love Half the World and that mandola section. That said, for me, I usually say five songs I like and it's a good album and it's the case here. Half the World, Driven, Resist, Virtuality, and, yes, even Dog Years are good enough for me.
  4. Another new song has been leaked. This one is called Bent to Fly. Some people thinks that it's better than World on Fire and it may be true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxgkI-u-cMw
  5. I'm listening to it now. I don't listen to Judas Priest, other than the songs that comes up on radio, but I'm taking a listen to it now. The first few songs are good. I liked Halls of Valhalla so far.
  6. I like it a good amount. It's probably my 4th favorite song of S&A (behind The Main Monkey Business, Working Them Angels, The Way the Wind Blows). I think it's a good tempo song to dance with someone (if choreographed properly), despite them stating that they are not a band to dance off to (which is true, but I think this song may be an exception).
  7. Let's see. My current fave five of 2014. 1. Sevendust's Time Travelers & Bonfires. An acoustic album that was successfully crowd-funded by their fans where the band made six new songs and redid six well known songs, amongst their fanbase, acoustically. It has a great melodic sound with all the magic touches and stuff. 2. California Breed's self-titled album. Well, I heard of Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham, orginally, due to their various connections with Alter Bridge/Slash vocalist Myles Kennedy. Obviously, as I dig deeper into the history, I knew who they are and are capable of making good stuff and they work well with their young guitarist, Andrew Watt, based on their single, Sweet Tea. So when I dig into their self-titled album, it was filled with very enjoyable rocking tunes. 3. Black Stone Cherry - Magic Mountain. I digged Black Stone Cherry since I heard the news that they were supporting Atler Bridge in Europe in 2011. I wasn't expecting much after their 3rd album, but I think they delivered well on that southern/hard stoney/modern post-grunge rock sound, though their lyrics involved too many innuendos on getting high kinda detracted it a little. 4. Lacuna Coil - Broken Crown Halo. I enjoyed the occasional male/female vocal dynamics, but Cristina Scabbia shined well in Hostage to the Light. 5. Michael Sweet - I'm Not Your Sucide. Stryper vocalist Michael Sweet did a solo album and I think it did what it did which was to distinguish itself from the Christian hard rock/somewhat-metal sound of Stryper. That said, the album did have some of those elements, but it had country elements and Journey-like elements, and it worked well which was hard not to accomplish since Sweet has an awesome voice. Albums to look forward to. Hmmmm, obviously, the new Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirator's World on Fire. Foo Fighters got a new album at late fall as well and, maybe, a Sixx: A.M. album if the schedule is right.
  8. Great speech. I do like it better than Geddy's, which is good as well. Alex made good inspirational points with the right timing in the humor end that makes us want to go out into the world and do our best and so forth.

    Dr. Geddy Lee

It's so weird to see Geddy in a suit. Good speech though.
  10. The new single is out on iTunes right now. It's pretty good as the 1st single. Better than You're A Lie, imo. Everything sounds point on. Slash's guitar playing. Myles' voice. Todd Damnit Kerns' backup vocals. It's all good. This is actually got me pumped right now. They got a headlining show coming up on August 9th in Temecula, CA at a theater in a casino. It's only a little over an hour from here. I may consider going although ticket prices are a bit steep. It ranges from $69-99. It's so close and I really want to see my favorite vocalist of all time for the 1st time, ever.
  11. So I heard news that California Breed is going to open for Slash/Myles/Conspirators in the UK shows. That's cool. Glenn Hughes had played with Slash and Myles during the Kings of Chaos shows and he appreciates a lot of what they do, especially Myles, so this should be a good line-up for the UK.

  13. I say they should start off with The Spirit of Radio. Judging from all five DVDs, the one in Cleveland had the biggest crowd ovation after the "concert hall" part and I think a decent reason for that is due to it being the opening song.
  14. Well, after listening to it, it's a pretty solid album. The craft is pretty good from these guys as it is expected. Nothing too groundbreaking, but just really solid stuff. Might need to listen to this album in a few more weeks to really define my favorites of it.
  15. I still love it. The Garden, Wish Them Well, Headlong Flight, Carnies, and Halo Effect are magnificent songs. I just love the fact that we got those songs and five others in the DVD.
  16. It's very southern-like so far. I don't mind it. Let's where that goes. Ok, that song starts to really lose its flow around the 7-8 min. mark, but it's starting to get itself back in it again now. NVM. This song at this stage looks like it's trying to claw and crawl their way to 11 minutes.
  17. Well, if he hasn't yet, he's pretty darn close. Working with the likes of Lemmy, Paul McCartney, playing with some of the guys in Led Zeppelin (especially John Paul Jones with Them Crooked Vultures), amongst others.
  18. I'm pretty recent but Wish Them Well and The Garden's lyrics affected me very well. Those lyrics, "Thank your stars you're not that way Turn your back and walk away Don't even pause and ask them why Turn around and say goodbye," made me realize that I don't have to stoop to anyone's level. If I'm not satisfied with any dynamics or relationships, I don't have to commit to that if I don't want to. I can just walk away and don't have that hurting me anymore. As for the Garden, that's easy. "The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect, So hard to earn so easily burned." Those lyrics made me realize that you work hard to forge all of these relationships with the various in your life and that it can go away in an instant, and once that's gone, life just seems a little empty and pointless. I just want to do all I can to protect and preserve that Garden full of the good stuff. Oh yeah, the lyrics in Subdivisions would have given a lot of clarity during my high school years. I would have approached a lot of decisions differently had I heard that song in that time. The moment I heard those lyrics, I was like, "Way to depress the dogs and dogs lovers with that one, man."
  19. I took a listen to their last few albums, especially their latest album. I enjoyed Nothing Stands in Our Way, Zombies, and Hostage to the Light. It's pretty good for the most parts. I enjoy it when the male/female vocal dynamics is in play as long as it's done right and it's been the case for Lacuna Coil.
  20. Alter Bridge - Open Your Eyes Rush - Wish Them Well (Yeah, I said it. What of it?) Foo Fighters - Wheels Skillet - The Older I Get Shinedown - Start Over This is always ever changing. The songs, not the fave five.
  21. ^^ On the road, I presume. The guys like Mark Tremonti, Myles, Slash, those are the guys that are really driven by playing the guitar on the road, in their off-time, etc. and that the ideas would come naturally which I presume is the reason why Slash/Myles/Conspirators would want to do an album so soon after doing Apocalyptic Love, two years ago.
  22. Man, I thought this thread was an outlet where I can freely admit that I like a band, that most people would not like, safely here without getting bagged on it and this is the reponses I got? I'm a bit disappointed.
  23. Well, the timeline was this. Bear with me here. Fortress came out in October, AB did a headlining tour in Europe (did seven arena shows, with six of them in the UK, and various music halls) in October/November. Myles/Slash/Conspirators, then, started pre-production out in December/January. I heard rumors that AB was going to do a West Coast tour, earlier in the year, (which would have me a very happy man), but that did not pan out well. Instead, they were slotted to do South America/Japan/Australia around February/March. Allegedly, the South America tour did not pan out due to promoters/agents not agreeing and crap like that, but they did get to go to Australia for Soundwave and did four shows in Asia (two in Japan). Afterwards, AB took most of March off and Myles went to record with Slash/Conspirators with Michael Elvis Baskette (Alter Bridge producer) as the producer. They got everything in the recording process done around early April. AB went back to do a short headlining tour (11 shows) in the US along with some US Festivals. They will head to Europe to do summer festivals (including doing the Download Festival in the UK where they are 2nd on the top of the bill, right behind Aerosmith for the day). AB will do two small festival shows in the US in July, but for the most part, Slash/Myles/Conspirators will tour July/August/parts of September with Aerosmith and will do a few headlining gigs in the US. The album will be out in September, they may play headlining shows in Europe in late Fall. As for Alter Bridge in the rest of 2014? I have no idea, honestly. I'm hoping they will head to the West Coast in early fall and play a show in LA where I can finally go see them for the 1st time and do Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Chile, etc.) since, well, those fans there, as the fans that they should be in that area, are frothing and want to see them as well. That was a mouthful to say.
  24. I'll admit it. I like Avenged Sevenfold. I mean it's not really a band to admit liking around music forums and news outlets, but they are vastly popular and actaully well-deserving of their success. I also like Daughtry, but people think they are Nickelback-lite so that's going to be hard to admit it anywhere.
  25. Just pop in Rush In Rio with him, sit back, relax, and enjoy with him. If he doesn't like it, give a tranqulizer dart to him. Also, pop in the Snakes & Arrows Live DVD. That's pretty great stuff where the S&A songs were better live than the studio versions. Just to convince the guy that they are a magnificant live band. All right, as for albums post-1990, maybe Clockwork Angels. That's what convinced me to listen to Rush on a more regular basis.
