  1. You're getting bigger pal ! ;) Yeah, the evidence sits right at the waist Curiosity got me buying a scale today, and I got my weight off by 9 lbs. I'm actually 195 lbs. Maybe it's time to train my self discipline. Do you still ride your bike a lot? ...or am I confusing you with another TRFer? I did use to so it could be me you're thinking of. Honestly I don't ride it as much anymore which is not good. I have been going to the gym though lifting weights.
  2. Imagine starting a concert with that speech? Hmmm, I wonder which band could pull this off? I immediately thought of a band but couldn't quite put my tongue on which one

  4. I wish they wouldn't yell the lines all the time; my ears gets tired of it. But I do love how grandpa Rick occasionally burps mid sentence
  5. I love that show. A friend got me into it and at first I wasn't really feeling it, but a couple of episodes and I was hooked. Jerry actually bugs me because of his apparent weakness, but the way you described him makes me think there's a lot more to him. You could say he's the modern day beta male.

  7. Was I the only one walking out after the end, feeling optimistic and wanting to better myself? That's the effect the Churchill speech had on me.
  8. Going to the library and borrow some cook books. I'm tired of having a bloated stomach so I'll see if I can start eating more healthy. After that I will make a plan over what I'm going to eat next week, and do the grocery shopping. I'm also going to bake a banana-chocolate cake, but after that I'm going to be more healthy. Until the next cake. And clean my room.
  9. You're not going to Hamburg, are you? No that would be driving too far. It just across the border.
  10. I've got a BMI of TMI, but am healthy and happy. :D BMI is only half the truth. There is so much more to it :D
  11. Danish men are the fifth tallest people in the world with an average of 5'93". I'm above average with 6'25". My weight is 186 lbs which gives me a body mass index of 23. I'm a lean mean cooking machine!
  12. Well, I'm becoming increasingly a Rush fan
  13. I think they're being sarcastic. Don't mean to be negative.
  14. Your, and others, reaction to this movie is what I think it was meant to achieve. Never was it intended to be a popcorn-entertainment movie. We know Nolan is able to create those. This is one of those rare visceral movies.
  15. I don't like sleeping on too soft a mattress so the choice for me would be a futon.
  16. Going to Germany to shop household items for the next 6 to 9 months. The VAT is lower. I have a storage room that comes with my apartment that I have set up with shelves, so I stack the items up like a happy little prepper ;)
  17. :goodone: Yes, responsibility has been drowned out by virtue signaling.
  18. Have you seen The Book Thief? It's set in Germany during the war and follows the lives of some German families and touches on the fact that not every German during the war was thrilled about Hitler and the Nazi party. It's an excellent movie. No I haven't but thanks for the suggestion. It sounds like it's worth watching :)
  19. This is not a popular part of history to cover, but the way Nolan made fear and desperation palpable makes me think of when the Russians were closing in on Berlin, and the extreme fear of retaliation. A movie like that will never be made, but I think it's important to tell stories from sides not explored from wars. I know it doesn't fit well with the good vs evil narrative, but I'm still curious.
  20. I've seen it and liked it a lot. Netflix even has the movies they made for streaming.
  21. I don't care about him either. I stear away from drama queens and whatever they do.
  22. The realization that within 5 to 6 years with proper financial planning, I will be able to buy myself a house. It means keeping the expenditures down while simultaneously setting money aside and investing some of it, and not having a car. That hopefully means that when it's time for retirement, the house will be almost paid out, and I will have a place to live on my pension. Responsibility is the kind that makes my day nowadays ;)
