  1. Reading the whole thread, these are my thoughts I dont think they will do a farewell tour advirtised as a Farewell tour. But I do think they understand very well the loyalty of their fanbase through the years and how they had a pivotal role in getting them to the RnR HoF . So i think they will let the fans know, in some way that there is a damn good chance that xyz tour is the end so people can see them one more time. (or 4 in my case). I dont think it would ever be a tour of just prior songs, i think it would include at least some new songs, They are a band that likes to make new stuff and pave new roads, always. R30 even had new recordings. permanent waves would be a nice last tour album, but I would settle for just Jacobs Ladder and Natural Science. Even Grace Under Pressure or Signals would be awesome to hear live. I dont think it would be moving pictures again. Or 2112. They played all of 2112 (song not album) in 1997. I kinda think the end of Rush will be some cathartic event with neil, if it isnt a planned thing. He speaks often of how a motorcycle accident could do him in. He also might just miss his second go round of family and decide its all about them now. I am fine with them going down to a 2 hour set at this point, recognizing their ages, but it owuld be nice if they did that , not to hear some of the songs that we have heard on EVERY tour... i could live without tom sawyer, spirit of radio, limelight. Great songs, but i have heard them 30 times now. I think they have the self deprecating humor that they would play "losing it" on their last tour. I dont see the string thing happening again, and i didnt find it that useful on this tour. I think they seemed to really enjoy being a little spontaneous on this tour. I think they will do more loose jams, instrumentals, I could see JackBlack, Paul Rudd, the foofighters guys, having a role as entertainment somehow tied in. But I think they definitely do want to write music always pretour- i dont think they want to just do a tour of hits. Though i think Ray Danniels is pushing that, an R40-strike-while-the-iron-is-hot, i think they resist alot of the purely commercial ideas he comes up with. I think alof of the 70s stuff is gone forever. too much strain on Geddys voice. I am fine with reviving 80s stuff. particularly moreso early 80s stuff.... my two cents....
  2. I am looking for 1 or 2 Tickets for Kansas City Sprint Center Show! Lower Bowl preferrably. Price Negotiable Private Message me here or Email me at VTHokieman592@yahoo.com I can do a local pickup this weekend, Saturday after 6pm when I land. Thanks!
  3. If you are on the fence trying to pick a Rush show this summer, i have a HIGHEST suggestion! Rush is playing Summerfest in Milwaukee on the 4th of July. see www.summerfest.com (hint: its awesome) But what is even BETTER news, is that there is a fantastic Rush Tribute Band, that will be playing on a stage NEAR the Real Rush show for 2 hours as an appetizer leading up to the REAL Rush .!!! so its like a 5-6 hour Rush affair! I did this very same double whammy in 2010 at Summerfest on the TM tour. its heaven. Here is the SummerFest link referencing the Tribute Band show with the run-up to the real show http://www.summerfest.com/lineup/artist?id=8af1677c-3bf8-4582-8b55-fef19fec242c And here is the website of the tribute band: (I have seen them multiple times, they are quite fantastic) http://atributetorush.com/ Trust me. Make the Drive/Flight, if you are picking a show. You get Two shows out of it !
  4. I just went on the 1st Mariner Arena site right now and was able to pick up a Fantastic ticket in section 105 for Tuesday night! I dont know if they just released them or what. So pick one up if you want to go !
  5. I would like a ticket for the Baltimore Show on May 7th at 1st Mariner Arena So, if you have an extra ticket or someone drops out of your group, please email me ASAP VTHokieman592@yahoo.com or PM me on here. Thank you!
  6. The problem you have, nhlrush, is that you havent seen enough Rush Tours. All of the songs you mention have been resurrected not so long ago. The Vapor Trails tour, the R30 tour, covered all those songs. You just missed them apparently. My only complaint on the current tour is that instead of weird resurrections like middletown dreams and grand designs, which werent even hits in their heydey, i would rather they bring back a couple of other 80s hits like The enemy within or Jacobs Ladder or The Weapon. Big Big 80's fan favorites....
  7. I agree. Neil and the Motorcycling is the biggest concern. Second biggest would be an unforeseen accident or diagnosis of a family member.
  8. There are alot of people in this forum who like to have their own version of the future rather than listening to the words that are right out of the Band's mouths. Listen to the full eddie trunk interview: http://eddietrunk.com/media/eddie-tv/ Right from the guys's mouths you hear it all without the need to speculate and create alternate futures. 1. They are taking at least a year off, There wont be an R40. 2. They arent done, They will make a record again. And they will tour it properly like they always have, they will just have to manage themselves physically. Everyone should see them this summer, more than once, if possible and get your fill. I think the biggest threat to Rush is some sort of external factor. A family member illness, a motorcycle accident, something unforeseen. That is more the worry I think they SHOULD take at LEAST a year off. They have done extensive touring, every year since 2007 except 2009, Let them take a break. Get their family groove back. NOT GET BURNT OUT. They have played so much of their material already since T4E, its not like they have an abundance of uncovered material anyways, except deep album buts mostly. They will turn the machine back on down the road, let them just take their proper time.....
