  1. Do you ever wonder what Fabrice Morvan is up to these days?
  2. For me it wasn't LP's, but singles, particularly a 4 disc box set of Chrismas carols by Bing Crosby on Decca. Most memorable was a jazz version of Jingle Bells, with vocal back up by The Andrews Sisters.
  3. The big 8 CKLW! My older sister was a member of Tom Clay's IBBB when he worked there.
  4. Raining most of the morning, and still is. We've been needing it, but it kept me from taking Rocky on his usual Sunday morning trip to the dog park, so he's in a down mood.
  5. No particular order: Kick Out the Jams-MC 5 The Bob Seger System-The Bob Seger System Live at Leeds-The Who Welcome Back My Friends...-ELP Live at Filmore East-Allmann Bros. Band.
  6. The Gris-Gris Man is no longer with us. I remember WABX in Detroit getting hard into "Gris-Gris", his breakthrough album. The title song and "I Walk On Gilded Splinters" was played a lot on the station. And his performance of "Such A Night" in "The Last Waltz." RIP, my ass. He's probably stomping around New Orleans arm in arm with Queen Marie Laveau at this moment. Stomp on, John!
  7. My father was in Hawaii for training, and SoCal for assignment, with radar maintenance, due to anxiety over the possibility of a Japanese air strike. My mother was a Registered Nurse in the Army, stationed first on Sicily, then in Naples.
  8. No you don't; AWBH (and L) is an aural masterpiece. But Teakbois will always be a steaming pile! Feel better now?
  9. I regularly watch Family Feud, but the Mrs. taped last night's Worst/Kartrashians vs the Junker/Kartrashians celeb episode, what vomit!
  10. Vocalist for the 13th Floor Elevators, who had a hit with "You're Gonna Miss Me"; the band broke up after Erickson multiple drug and mental health problems, the latter of which were treated with involuntary electroshock therapy. https://variety.com/2019/music/news/roky-erickson-legendary-psychedelic-musician-dies-at-71-1203230465/
  11. Possibly Beverly, aka Rushgrrl (not sure of spelling) from the CP board. Toronto native, but attended a lot of out of townshows, including most of the Vegas shows. This would have been before CP dropped out in Jan/Feb 2013.
  12. From my friend John, a musician and electronics buff: "I'd like to do an old Chinese melody called Tu Ning." " Did you hear, the Energizer Bunny died. Seems he got his polarity reversed and he kept coming and coming and coming. "
  13. Mrs. Bear has regressed to watching reruns of "The Big Bang Theory." I'm losing hope for her.
  14. Vice. Goddamn, Dick Chaney was disturbed af.
  15. From Doing Justice, by Preet Bharara (former Manhattan District US Attorney), on the steps taken regarding the Internet viewings of a Federal defendant accused of, among other things, cannibalism: "And he reviewed recipes for human flesh...(yes, they exist on the Internet, not all of which recommend fava beans and Chianti as accompaniments.)"
  16. "That's why we're still talking about Rush", hell yes.
  17. If not too beat from Karen's caretaking, Pat Benetar/Neil Geraldo in May.
  18. Tim Evans, the face of the Trivago commercials on tv, gets popped for DUI in Houston.
  19. That would be the shit. Les has a talent for drawing musicians to him and putting out some incredible music. The Bernies Bucket of Brains mp3 gets some major playing time in my car.
  20. Kim Kartrashian in an apprenticeship to become a pettifoging shyster.
