  1. :( I miss them. But R40 was a heck of a way to go out. Best concert ever.
  2. Well, Grandma called us today. That’s a good sign. Her cardiologist said she’s doing well. No word on when she’s able to go home yet, but she sounded strong today. Things appear to be looking up. :)
  3. Favorites: H, K, N, W, Z W is the standout here. I love the history of the letter W—how it used to literally be a double u, how Latin used a W sound for V, and how some languages shifted to use a V sound for W. Cool letter. Least favorites: C, P, Q, X, Y C is unnecessary when we have K and S. P is silent in front of T and N…why? Q needs a stupid U to work. X is just a K and an S smashed together. And Y…I just don’t like Y’s stupid face.
  4. Toss up between Rivendell and The Speed of Love. Went with TSoL because it’s just…boring. Rivendell at least sounds kind of pretty. Sometimes. When I don’t skip it. Which is…like, never.
  5. I agree with you. :o Le gasp!
  6. I still say Hemispheres is overrated, at least around here. :D
  7. 1. Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland. My first concert was the NYC date on that tour! 2. The Spirit of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987. My dad had that CD on all the time in his car. 3. Grace Under Pressure. Strange choice looking back, but I was really into Red Sector A and Kid Gloves at the time. 4. TM2011 5. N/A. Growing up in the age of iTunes, I’ve always just made my own compilations. 6. Clockwork Angels. Still one of my favorites! 7. Auburn Hills ‘94. Not sure what the actual title is.
  8. Last couple days have been really scary. My grandmother had leukemia back in the ‘80s and was told at one point that she had hours to live. But she pulled through somehow, and decades later she’s still cancer-free. But the chemo ravaged her body, and that, along with old age, has led to a multitude of health issues. Most troubling is the fact that her kidneys are failing. She’s had countless procedures, dialysis, medications; you name it, she’s done it, short of getting a transplant, which she is unable to. Anyway, for the last few years—and the last few months in particular—she’s been on so much morphine she can hardly stay awake most of the time. Last week it was decided that she was going to stop taking morphine, but there was one problem—she was addicted. So her doctor prescribed her oxytocin instead. Fast forward to yesterday, and she’s in the hospital having suffered a massive heart attack. We’re not sure yet if it was an OD on oxytocin or if it was withdrawal from the morphine, or what. She was put into a medically-induced coma with a ventilator, and I seriously thought we were going to lose her. I was mentally preparing myself all day. Around 8:30 my dad is told by a nurse that Grandma pulled the ventilator right out of her and was breathing under her own power, so we think her condition is improving. She’s in and out of consciousness, but she is breathing. It looks like she might pull through after all, but I’m still steeling myself for that terrible phone call. I’ve never lost anyone so close before. I’m not sure how I would handle it, and I don’t want to find out. :(
  9. Best: 1. La Villa Strangiato 2. 2112: Presentation 3. The Analog Kid 4. Xanadu 5. Limelight WORST: 1. Force Ten (studio, live is awesome) 2. Bastille Day (great song, but the solo is like five unique notes) 3. One Little Victory (boring, just the vocal part but on guitar) 4. Driven 5. Wish Them Well Oops, was I only supposed to do three?
  10. If you anger the pilot on an airplane, don’t tell him cool his jets. It won’t end well.
  11. You’d expect flashlights to come up eventually in a thread about pleasure, I suppose…
  12. I agree. The 1997 section of Different Stages is awesome! Need that whole show on Blu-Ray.
  13. Entre Nous is another easier one.
  14. Still three. Forever three…:( R40 will always have a special place in my heart. RIP Neil. ♥️
  15. Take a Bow (Muse) Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding (Elton John) Xanadu (Rush) One (Metallica) Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) Over the Hills and Far Away (Led Zeppelin) New York State of Mind (Billy Joel) Baba O’Riley (The Who) Foreplay / Long Time (Boston) Money for Nothing (Dire Straits) There’s so many!
  16. You realize you may be waiting for a reply for a couple YEARS, right? That was very funny, ORFie. I got quite the laugh out of it. It's true too. I hope Disk isn't holding his breath awaiting a reply. What, is my return not enough of a momentous occasion that he should bless us with his presence? I am offended.
  17. The Wreckers is really easy, too.
  18. Best of luck, Lorraine! We’ll definitely miss you around here, but hopefully your internet problems will be resolved soon. It’s not “goodbye,” it’s just “see you later!”
  19. My little brother’s preschool lost his vaccination papers. So my folks tried to send another copy via e-mail and were told that not only could they not accept the file by e-mail, but that the only way for the kid to go back to his preschool was to get vaccinated AGAIN. Four shots later, and here he is the next day with a fever and a sore arm because someone doesn’t know how to handle documents. Nothing against vaccinations, by the way, I just hate that my brother had to be punished because his school can’t get its sh*t together.
  20. The Snakes tour was probably the beginning of the end for Geddy. Every live album after R30, he got progressively worse, except maybe R40 was a little better than CA. His voice got deeper after Rio, and I think he sounded good on R30, but things went downhill after that.
  21. You know, Neil didn’t seem like someone who cared all that much about how many millions he had. I don’t think he was in it for the money.
  22. Anagram (for Mongo) Hand Over Fist The Speed of Love Oh, and side one of Hemispheres is pretty boring, too. ;)
