  1. Go to the lot -- it'll be safer and more interesting, if possibly more expensive. Of course, I don't know how hot it is down your way, so maybe the AC is worth it! He’s in FL, like me. Trust me, you don’t want to go without A/C down here.
  2. I think Subdivisions is overrated. Still a really good song, but they’ve done so much better just on Signals. The Analog Kid, Digital Man, The Weapon, and Countdown are all better.
  3. Yesterday it was 95°F. Today the high is supposed to be 89°F, but in Florida it’s so humid that it always feels ten degrees hotter than it actually is.
  4. Grandma went into afib this morning. She got a positive test for COVID-19 yesterday, and…well, it’s not looking good. She’s survived leukemia, kidney failure, and a heart attack. I sent her a text message last night because she’s too weak to talk…she probably can’t even read it. We’re expecting the worst. :(
  5. R.I.P., ORFie. He and I never interacted all that much, but he was one of the good guys around here. He will be missed.
  6. My grandmother has it. This poor woman has been in a rehab center after her kidneys failed a couple weeks ago and just had to get readmitted to the hospital with a 102.2°F fever. Her COVID test just came back 15 minutes ago: positive. I’m getting really, really scared.
  7. Tough one. Some of my favorite songs were written in the ‘70s, but some of my favorite albums came out in the ‘80s. I think Permanent Waves is the deciding factor here, because it’s right on the edge. So…’70s it is.
  8. Wow. I can’t believe I made that list. 1. La Villa Strangiato 2. YYZ 3. Leave That Thing Alone 4. Malignant Narcissism 5. Where’s My Thing? 6. The Main Monkey Business 7. Hope 8. Limbo
  9. My grandmother, who’s been in the hospital the past week after suffering a heart attack, called me today. She said she’ll be out of the hospital Friday, and she hopes it’ll only be another week or so in rehab until she can go home. Great news, considering it’s only been a few days since I thought we were going to lose her. She beat cancer back in the ‘80s and has appeared to cheat death once again. One of the strongest people I’ve ever met.
  10. Prove your assertion. I know what happened and have witnesses. Well, you kind of lose all credibility when you pull the whole “to be continued” thing, just sayin’. If you wanted people to believe you, maybe you should have charged your phone so you could type the whole story instead of posting it in chunks to milk the thread for likes and replies. Because right now, it looks like you’re just trying to use Neil’s unfortunate passing to gain 15 minutes of fame on an Internet forum. I’m not saying that was or wasn’t your intention—I’m merely telling you how some people might see it. How incredibly arrogant and insulting. You don't and can't know my motives, and I couldn't care less how you think others "might perceive" my posts. Your comment about using Neil's death for personal gain floors me. It's not only false, it's hurtful and disgusting. From one human being to another: You need healing for emotional and spiritual issues. Okay, wow. I was just trying to give you some insight as to why your story isn’t being taken seriously. There’s no need for hostility. I never claimed to know you or what your motives were; I was only telling you what this thread looks like on the surface. I’m sorry if you’re offended that no one believed your story, but you didn’t exactly present it in a credible way. Maybe you did meet Neil. I’m happy for you if you did. But you really ought to work on the way you present information, and try not to take every criticism you receive to heart. Why would I want your insights, seriously? Your initial comments were incredibly insulting, and your most recent reply further highlights your arrogance. I'm not angry, I'm just saying. You're blind to your arrogance. This is super tough, but imagine that my phone really was running low and I noticed it only after I'd begun posting. And try to picture that I have a job, family, and business, so I often have only a few spare minutes. Writing out the entire story would take probably 30+ minutes. Your comment about using Neil's death for gain comes from a black heart. Well, I’m not going to tell you how to live your life, but if I only had a few minutes to spare at work and my phone was dying, I wouldn’t be telling a 30+ minute story only to have to pause right in the middle. It doesn’t make people want to take it seriously, and it looks like you were using an unfortunate situation to make yourself look good. Let me assert here that I’m not suggesting that’s what you were doing, but on the surface that’s what it looks like. I’m sorry you feel that I have a “black heart” for making that observation. So, you don't think such a disgusting thought, but you think others might, so you need to inform me. Umm...thanks? Lol I informed you because you seem so incredibly confused as to why no one is taking you seriously. That’s the impression your post gives. I should also add that I never made the accusation. I never said what I thought.
  11. Raining. Not much wind, so I think it’s just Florida being Florida and not Isaias just yet. That should get here early morning tomorrow.

  13. Losing It My spirits are low in the depths of despair My lifeblood Spills over

  15. Not a cloud in the sky right now. The calm before the storm…

  17. I thought you lived in New Jersey. When did you move? Last May. It’s beautiful down here, but I’m still not used to the constant, oppressive heat. As for hurricanes, I experienced Sandy up in NJ, and that was really bad. So I’m not sure what to expect here. :|
  18. Where do you live? I'm beginning to think I live in the one state in this country that doesn't have its head up its ass when it comes to how they have handled it. It seems almost everyone outside of New York state has dropped the ball on this. Florida. You want to talk about dropping the ball…I mean, they aren’t doing ANYTHING down here. The sad thing is that there are so many people (specifically old, white, and male) that simply can’t be bothered to wear masks because they feel that it’s a way for the government to control people. I know politics belong in SOCN, but I just to point out that people’s very lives are being politicized.
  19. My stepmom had two family members die from it. And three people from the store she works in had it. (She took a leave of absence.) My friend’s mom was exposed to it by her caretaker—friend and mom tested negative, thank goodness. It’s pretty scary. I legitimately have not left my house in over four months. I had to leave my awesome job because I’m terrified of bringing the virus back home to my family. :( Over 150,000 Americans are dead. It breaks my heart.
  20. Hurricane warning all up the coast from Boca Raton to the Brevard County line. We’re in for a beat down. :sigh:
  21. Looks like we're getting a hurricane this weekend...
  22. Greek "i" or Latin "i"...we should just pick one or the other. I isn’t innocent. Sometimes it’s just an I, sometimes it thinks it’s an E. Make up your mind.
