  1. I was 10 as well, I never thought I would still be seeing new music from them at this point
  2. Ged's voice caught my attention too, but then I fell in love with the lyrics and the odd time changes
  3. I guess I'm a man, then. Separating the "men from the boys" is a silly trivial male pursuit. Women are above, therefore automatically excluded from such nonsense.. ;) Agreed add to the fact I've been a fan for 40 years...lol
  4. Found them in 1975 at the age of 10...fan ever since
  5. "I don't think Neil has to consider a damn bit how the fans feel. He's got every right to quit if he wants, and spend all of his time with his family. He doesn't owe anybody anything. " This exactly !
  6. That is truly awesome. and hey you weren't at the bathroom this time :)
  7. Ok I haven't gotten mine yet, but in thinking about it I was hoping they would leave the the trouble spots....makes it seem more like a live experience than having it perfect, I have the studio CDs for that
  8. I wonder if Neil has trouble with T4E, being his daughter was killed around that time, OLV is I don't know, is his come back song IMHO
  9. I think he moves well for his age as well, which makes him seem younger
  10. This cracks me up because in the early days I think Geddy would have been considered the 'least' photogenic
  11. genes and I honestly think Geddy takes better care of himself over the years, but mostly genes, his mom is 90 I think and still looks great
  12. Songs that call to me Resist acoustic version live 2112 the whole album(love the back and forth from priest to protagonist) Losing It Malignant Narcissism Working at Perfekt Grace by Grace Whatcha doing Fly By Night Ok really too many to list here, so many for different reasons
  13. This is really hard to answer. What I'm drawn to with Geddy is the passion he puts into his work. Even when he has done a song a million times he still can imbue it with feeling, it is magical really. The music is so much more than just the way his voice sounds, in fact without the support of both Alex and Neil I just don't think it would have the same impact. I like a lot of his solo stuff too, but it brings a completely different emotion out in me than the stuff he has done with RUSH.
  14. FBN was my intro to Rush, I was 10 years old, it hit me on a visceral level, love every song on it for different reasons, love still 40 years later, for many of the same reasons, love it.
  15. I am not sure why they loved that photo, I've seen some better photos from fans.
  16. As much as I love this band and seeing them live, I completely agree and I would do the same thing if I were Neil. Now do I hope they do more live shows of course I do, but I don't begrudge them any happiness and choices they make to have the kind of life they want and enjoy.

    Alex and His Guitar

I bet you were. I would have been too. More so than being in front of Geddy. Yes and I was so surprised because I have always been a fan of Geddy, but wow Alex won me over but good!

    Alex and His Guitar

I can only add that I sat front row in front of Alex this year, and was blown away...BLOWN AWAY!
  19. Ha ha I was just thinking that one reason women, well me in particular, might like Geddy's voice is that we can sing along with him. I mean I have trouble singing along with someone like Barry White...kwim.
  20. Yes, love Geddy's voice. It was a main draw the first time I listened to their music, that, and the lyrics. Geddy sings with such emotion. It really wasn't until I sat front row in front of Alex that I really could appreciate the amazing talent that man has. I could hardly believe how fast his fingers flew across the strings. It was weird many times my brain had a hard time comprehending that the movement I was watching were creating the music my ears were hearing. Truly an awesome band.

    A Show Of Shows

Sadly not as often as I would have liked
  23. My take is that if they wanted to do a look from the concert during that segment there are better shots where the disco ball is not so prominent, and the boys are taken at a better angle. Over all it is ok, but not my favorite look.
  24. Nicely put. It's kind of a developmental thing. I started listening to Rush at age 10, the lyrics was a big factor, they really spoke to me, now at 50 songs like "The Garden" again speak to me, I can find songs in every decade of Rush that echo what was going on in my life at the time. They are my all time favorite band for that reason.
