  1. WTF is with these lines? Can't get rid of them... Am I on acid? What's going on?
  2. More like 75 - 80%... But, then he could write a new book called, "Why did you all stop talking about me?"
  3. I can't believe I'm typing this, but I like this version better than the original. Plus... this woman is way better lookin' than Geddy...
  4. Maybe one day Neil will write a book called, "Leave me alone and quit trying to analyze me."
  5. This is the band that just played at the Whiskey in LA. Amazing Rush tribute.
  6. Phil Collins, maybe? But, he has a net worth of nearly 250 million, so I guess it was okay to "sell out."
  7. BEST drum sound? Has to be Moving Pictures. The way they are produced in studio, but I also love those Tamas. If anyone wants to hear this, the worst drum sound, I think, is on 2112. They sound like there are blankets over top of them... horrible, especially, the small concert toms, 6 through 10 inch.
  8. I think I'm about to get my balls kicked here... but, I think Keith is one of the most over-rated guitar players out there. He hasn't improved in 45 years. If you saw him playing in a club, but he wasn't the "Famous Keith, Rock Star," just some dude, you'd probably be unimpressed.
  9. A sell-out is someone who is sick and effing tired of eating Kraft Dinner and Spam for dinner four nights a week. And, Hamburger Helper for the other three... money is good. I wish I had more. Not that I'm sick of KD or Spam... But, Hamburger Helper can kiss my arse.
  10. Actually, I just remembered... that photo was taken at my Gramma's house in Ontario... and for $1,000 I'll walk you through it, full tour, and I'll show where (exactly where) Geddy once took a pee in the bushes out back.
  11. This has probably been mentioned here before, but I don't give a shit. You must check out this band - Wait until you hear this guy's "Geddy voice." Also - I normally don't like tributes bands... but these guys... wow!
  12. Yes, agreed. Carl is one of the very best technically skilled rock drummers out there. Neil's best asset (of many!) is his grace and creativity. His drums really are musical instruments.
  13. I remember back in 1994 (I think?) ELP played in Thunder Bay, Ontario... that's right, I said, THUNDER ABY, ONTARIO, in a theatre that holds 1500. I couldn't believe it... ELP in a small northern Canadian city? I was fourth in line to buy tickets a month or two before the show day. At the show I was shocked that there were only about 800 people there. They were incredible... Carl's drum solo was so good, I had a hard time even knowing what he was doing and I've been playing drums all my life.
  14. I watched R40 again last night for the first time in a few months... and it is a great concert video. Just seeing Ben Mink playing Losing It with the guys was worth the whole thing to me... Yes, there are a few things that I didn't love, but how could there NOT be? Everyone has different tastes... just the fact that these guys are in their 60s and still ROCK... is amazing to me. Stop your goddam complaining and just be happy that you even know who or what Rush is.
  15. That would be funny as hell, I'm sure!
  16. "If I could wave my magic wand," I'd make everyone stop bitching about Neil and just be thankful that he went for that audition in summer / '74. Nobody is perfect... but, I'll bet if any of you complainers knew the guy, even a tiny bit, you'd probably think he was the best guy ever. Leave the goddam man alone. Go do some Neil air drumming instead...
  17. I forgot to say, that I remember reading somewhere (years ago) that the photo was taken somewhere in England, likely close to where they AFTK albums was recorded in Wales.
  18. I remember looking at this when I was about 15 and convincing myself (and anyone else who would listen!) that they were in Geddy's house... or Al's or Neil's... They were HUGE rock stars to a 15 year old, so they "just had to be" millionaires! But, I suppose it wasn't long after this photo was taken that the boys easily could afford nice homes. And, cars...
  19. Okay, here is what I want - all of my food and water must be organic, free-range, local, artisan, fair trade, gluten free, kosher and 100% certified vegan. Did I miss anything??????
  20. Holy shit face... sometimes it's hard to believe that this is a Rush fan site. No wonder Neil avoids fans when he can. I would too.
  21. Too technical for me... how about this: Any Rush album anytime? Right now, on Youtube, Rush just came on with By Tor... so, I just HAD to turn that SOB up!
  22. Neil is sitting with his wife and they are watching their daughter's piano lessons... or ballet. Geddy is drinking wine and writing a new tune or 7 and Al is playing golf in Florida. Hopefully...
  23. When, years ago, I first learned that Neil went from gig to gig on a motorcycle, I was surprised that he was allowed to. When I say allowed to, I mean by the insurance company that underwrites the tour. Also, I wonder if Neil's management and band mates tried to talk him out of it. Such a huge risk... an accident could affect many, many people who are relying on Neil to play the shows. Many millions of dollars. I guess he just wouldn't tour if he had to ride a bus or plane...
  24. If Rutsey would have stayed, they would not have lasted two more albums because Geddy and Al wanted to play prog rock and JR couldn't or wouldn't... probably both. It would have been one big shit show.
  25. I just watched Bravado, Subdivisions and Spirit of Radio... these guys are really good. The guitar player sings though, which is odd, because it somehow makes me think of Big Al singing... but he can't!! I'd go to the gig, but it would a long-ass drive from Nova Scotia, Canada... Have fun!
