  1. I know, it takes a while to learn one song to get to performance standard, but when you take into account that it's Rush, well, unless you're learning the starting guitar riff to CA, it's quite complicated to learn!
  2. I really love the grammar on the thread title and in the first post.
  3. All I know is that the new VT Remix is in it instead of the old VT. I think there may be slight remastering, but I can't be too sure
  4. Countdown' sending when the bass does the cool harmony bit. Everyday Glory "no matter what they say" when Geddy goes really high!
  5. Umm, no thanks. It's a good song, and would work great live, I just don't think it would be a great opener
  6. I'm far from disappointed. Far far far from disappointed,
  7. I don't know your setlist 'A' or 'B' so even more of a mystery for me!
  8. I wish I could be there! Can't wait to see the setlist though!
  9. One great moment off the top of my head is that section in Mission at about 3:21-3:40. I absolutely love that section!
  10. Permanent Waves and Power Windows. Was considering PermanentPower, but I'll leave that for someone else!
  11. Please don't let Rush quit before they play in Australia.\ WE WANT RUSH!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I kind of felt AFTK had a good theme running throughout it. "Mankind's drive to leave a legacy" 1) AFTK (title track) - how the future world will look at us 2) XANADU - one man's drive for fame and fortune, leaves him locked as a prisoner of his own quest 3) Closer to the heart - King's and comoners and artisians using their skills to leave a legacy for betterment of sociecity 4) Cindellra Man - A guy using his fortune for the betterment of sociecity 5) Madrigal - something about love. And love lasts forever. 6) Cygnus X-1 - Man's legacy, to be the first person to visit a black hole. Ends up completely removing himself from the Universe, inorder to create a legacy. Feedback had a concept. To show what inspired Rush to make their own music!
  13. I remember reading the notes to Replay X3, especially the Show of Hands tour booklet, and they expose themes within albums (for example, Hokd Your Fire being about time, or Power Windows being about power). This made me wonder, are there themes to every Rush album, like there are for the synth era, or is it specifically the Synth Era with the concepts (with the obvious exception of Clockwork Angels, that was a great album telling a great story, which is now in books and graphic novels, and I think it would be cool to see a movie done with this story!) which makes them unique in comparison to the rest of the albums?
  14. I thought he said "I lock it up at seven, yeah and I go to work at night" Meaning he had the night shift as a security guard or night watchman or something like that?
  15. I don't have much of a clue, but I would open with a taster of Cygnus X-1 (like Rush in Rio), go into something with a good drumbeat start (eg Body Electric, OLV, Armour and Sword) and the rest is up to you, but I would say end with Kid Gloves, the stabby ending gives you a good opportunity to say your thanks and good nights
  16. I prefer Anagram. But this is a pretty well written song, I don't like how it sounds, but I appreciate the writing of it
  17. I think it fits the overall tone of the video, and the editing seems based around the riff too.
  18. Eh, how about a movie, with about a 35 minute movie that shows before. The feature length will be Clockwork Angels, with the 35 minute film being the 2112 story
  19. Myrtle Beach SC would be awesome... For fans who have seen them in nearby states for almost 4 decades. As a Rush fan in Western Australia who defends their legacy and creativity on a regular basis, I want to see them play in my Continent at least once before they call it quits. Anyone notice the nice banner that gets a fair bit of screen time on its own on the Can't Stop Thinking Big documentary? Maybe they'll look at this and see that they should get here real soon!
  20. I just watched the Metallica snippet with Lang Lang. I don't hate much about Metallica (read: Love everything except LULU, wish that thing never existed) but that performance of One was TERRIBLE! Kirk missed notes, and the piano playing would have been perfect anywhere else than with Metallics. If it were Nothing Else Matters or the Unforgiven III it would have been great, but no. Black Sabbath deserved their award though! About time they got some of the recognition they truly deserve!
  21. Sounds delicious. :outtahere: If the jokes are TASTEFUL, not the family bashing as posted above. However, it may not be too easy as Neil is someone who doesn't really find it easy to be in situations like that now. So, for a certain few Rush fans and then broadcast on the Rush website and it can stay on YouTube
