  1. Thank your stars you're not that way Turn your back and walk away Don't even pause to ask them why Just turn around and say goodbye
  2. God, I totally hated Clockwork Angels. Worst thing of theirs ever. I hope they don't continue along this path for their next album if there is one, because this is the worst possible thing for them to leave on!
  3. :ebert: Look at your young men fighting Look at your women crying Look at your young men dying The way they've always done before Look at the hate we're breeding Look at the fear we're feeding Look at the lives we're leading The way we've always done before I don't need your civil war It feeds the rich while it buries the poor Your power hungry selling soldiers in a human grocery store (ain't that fresh?) And I don't need your civil war What's so civil about war anyway?
  4. I'd say Rush contributed their abilities that it seems like a true collaboration. I will however say that Geddy's voice feels like Caress of Steel and Permanent Waves to me. I think it was around the time they were recording Permanent Waves, but when Geddy's singing his verse his voice really reminds me of Caress of Steel!
  5. Thanks everyone! Had a great day yesterday and came home with a new effects pedal (the awesome Line 6 FBV Express) which I can't wait to play with my new black PRS Tremonti SE!
  6. Actually, I'd kinda like to hear some instrumental versions of songs originally with lyrics, like Xanadu. Being in a musical at my school, I've found that there's a lot more to songs beneath the vocal track, and with Rush, it'd be very interesting to hear what is more blocked by Ged's vocal. I've probably had a poor choice of words but hopefully you understand what I mean
  7. Bold. Very bold. I'd be pissed if I got the New World Man night and missed Digital Man. I love New World, but . . . And then you also miss We Hold On and MalNar
  8. Ok....how's this? 3 Stooges intro Turn The Page The Body Electric Cut to the Chase Finding My Way In The End Bastille Day Digital Man/New World Man (alternates between A and B nights) We Hold On/The Way the Wind Blows (alternates between A and B nights) Emotion Detector Tom Sawyer Cygnus X-1 Video Intro depicting the Rocinante flying into Cygnus X-1 Hemispheres (Prelude, Armageddon, Cygnus, The Sphere) La Villa Strangiato YYZ Where's My Thing Leave That Thing Alone Limbo MalNar/Main Monkey Business (alternates between A and B nights) 2112 (Overture/Temples/Finale) DRUM SOLO Broon's Bane Different Strings Losing It Ghost of a Chance Test for Echo The Pass The Spirit of Radio One Little Victory Limelight Headlong Flight
  9. Test For Echo. Such a great setlist, and then all of 2112 to close Act 1. Also, they were sounding bloody good, and it was their first 2 act tour.
  10. Sorry mate, but I'm pretty sure you mean the Snakes and Arrows Live DVD. It wasn't part of R30. As for my mix: 2112: Grand Finale Hemispheres: Prelude and Armageddon (you can move these around to anywhere you want if you don't want them next to each other) In The End Spirit of Radio Xanadu (instrumental section) Cut to the Chase Animate YYZ La Villa Strangiato Headlong Flight Bacchus Plateu Superconductor (yeah right) Just kidding, give me Available Light Crossroads (from the RnRHoF) The Garden The WavesandWindows Mix . . . I'm curious about the "instrumental only" Xanadu? Everything up to a certain point in the song? And . . . "Crossroads"? I'm digging the selection, though! Thanks. He had me until I saw "Cut to the Chase." But then I saw "Bacchus Plateau" a little farther down and he redeemed himself. "Superconductor" raised an eyebrow but then I saw "Available Light" followed up by "Crossroads" and I just figured he had to meet some sort of quota for crap lol... I once tried to record "Available Light" on a mixtape, but when I played it back imagine my surprise when instead of being subjected to "Available Light" I actually heard the recorded voice of Satan himself on the tape telling me to stab myself in the taint! The silver lining however was that being audibly commanded by Satan himself STILL wasn't as horrific as listening to "Available Light." Well, I like the instrumental section, and that's the bit that I'd be able to play with my band, since we wouldn't be able to do the whole song, and it's a powerhouse of an intro. Crossroads is there for the guest performers, since it was pretty cool, not a fan of the song as a whole, but loved the whole thing with Tom Morello and John Fogerty. What's wrong with Cut to the Chase, it's one of my favourite songs on Counterparts. Available Light I am learning to play live, and it's a pretty deep song to me, it's really meaningful.

  12. Well mate, I respect your opinion, but I can honestly say that my opinions are quite to the contrary. I think this will age quite well, and for me it's only gotten better with time. I don't think Rush or CoS are masterpieces, but I respect anyone who may choose either as their favourites
  13. CA does have a very special place in my heart though, it got me hooked on Rush, it was the first studio album i was introduced to (only 16 as of next Monday) and quite frankly BU2B and Caravan were the first songs I was drawn to on Time Machine, which was the first Rush I ever bought
  14. Excellent. I feel like I've found my brutha from anutha mutha. What really blows mind is how it packs great song after song. We got 5 all-timers on this thing. They even got a song that isn't a song—and that one still kicks ass. Man I hope they keep Nick. He knowz wuz up! This album makes all the 70's stuff look like childs play. When I hit 60, I wanna be that amazing. I LOVE CA! But I disagree about it being better than the seventies... Stuff from the 70's is so dated. Great stuff, but Clockwork Angels has more balls than all of that era's music put together. Here, I start to disagree with you Tombstone. I'd say CA's sort of a 70's revival in a way. It sorta feels like the 70s stuff with a heavier sound to me. However, I don't agree with it being better than the seventies, since I love 2112, Xanadu, Cygnus, Hemispheres, Circumstances and La Villa so very much
  15. Wait, bathsalt epidemic, what is that? I like Presto?
  16. We are the champions my friend And we'll keep on fighting til the end We are the champions, we are the champions No time for losers, cos we are the champions Of the world

  18. It's sonically awesome, having been masterfully mastered by Nick Raskuellnics (I know I probablyy spelt that wrong, forgive me Nick), and, following Vapor Trails and Snakes and Arrows, doesn't disappoint. This is Rush's first full concept album, differing from 2112 and Hemispheres as they only had one epic song on the first side. Words cannot describe the intensity and excellence of this album, and Neil Leart's lyrics have never been better. This is truly an album for the ages! How's that?
  19. "For every sad son of a bitch" tour, where they play some of the less liked songs. I joke of course, but actually wouldn't mind some of this. Anagram, Peaceable Kingdom, even Limbo I would love to see live. Actually, I'd probably laugh at seeing them try Blurred Lines and Wrecking Ball
  20. Ha ha ha. I'm good with being the underdog here. You lead and I'll follow
  21. Actually, here's an idea, as inspired by this thread. Why not play the whole thing...over the course of a number of shows?
  22. I chose Double Agent, I was going to choose Cut to the Chase, but I thought this one may be a bit better for Ged and his voice
  23. No problemo...all about sharing the load Well then I look forward to being a co-ambassador with you on CA
