  1. QUOTE (cdaddie @ Aug 26 2012, 10:28 AM) QUOTE (bootlegguy @ Aug 26 2012, 12:32 AM) On sept 7th I will definetly be hitting refresh on setlist.fm that night. For some bands I'm okay with surprises, but for this one I HAVE to know. If the selection of non-CA songs is awesome enough I'll have to upgrade my Edmonton tickets and/or get tickets for the Saskatoon show too. (Of course I have to assume that the crowd wouldn't be that great there) I was thinking about trying to make the Saskatoon show....are the crowds typically not that into concerts there, not a great atmosphere? I'm pretty sure that Rush has never played there before, ever, so I doubt that makes for a floor full of lifelong fans. I went there once to see Metallica and seemed like more of a "stand and drink beer and enterain us" crowd as compared to the same tour stop in Edmonton. In fact security forced everyone on the floor to SIT on the ground until the opening act came out. Talk about a way to kill the energy! That being said yesterday you could still buy row 12 floors for Saskatoon yesterday.

  3. I still remember the first time I heard SOR on FM and it blew me away. I had to find this PW CD and didn't know much about them. (age 13). I knew of Tom Soyer so I picked up MP to try out. When I first heard RB it blew me away just like SOR, like it made me feel so alive I couldn't play it loud enough. The next year I saw them live on VT and they defintely jumped to the tippy top of my all time favourite bands list. I went out and bought everything. I started listening to 2112 again on my stereo, off the actual CD, and it's like I'm hearing it for the first time again. I was never into it as much as the other pre-signals albums for some reason but 10 years later I finally get it.
  4. QUOTE (Mark_L @ Jul 14 2012, 05:11 PM) September 10, 2002 in Edmonton. I was 14 years old and had been listening to Rush for only a few months. Of course, that show cemented Rush fandom for me That was also my first show and it blew my mind. I can't beliebe how long ago that was already. I wasn't a huge fan before, only had PW and MP, after that I went out to get the whole catalog. We were in the 3 row in the floor in front of Geddy and my friend had this rediculously large arfo (white guy) which was halarious and at one point I will never forget Alex walking over to Geddy's side, Geddy points to us and Alex did a little chuckle as he strummed the next chord. Awesome!
