  1. I can't wait for this disc. Was it september for release date? I love all 3 blu ray discs equally like children, which means that secretly TMT is last, and S&A beats R30 just by a hair. This is probably because I've had it since release date and have had lots of time to enjoy it and I was able to see that tour. These days I also watch the Grace Under Pressure Tour DVD a lot. Stupid clothes, mediocore video, great sound and it captures the band at their peak!
  2. I know were getting off topic here but It was pretty safe to say that was just an easy excuse. They postponed the Calgary show due to Seger being sick, and the Sasktoon show that followed Edmonton's date was postponed with 1 days notice with no explanation. Then when they played the make up show a few nights ago here in Edmonton he apologized to the crowd for missing the previous date due to a terrible cough.
  3. I know for a fact that a show for Edmonton at Northlands, now known as Rexall place, was cancelled last minute, PW tour, horrible snow storm and they couldn't come up from Calgary where the gig was the night prior. This was before my time. Good thing this hasn't happened too often in our winter wonderland. Although Bob Seger was postponed this March, supposedly, due to a terrible storm we had.
  4. 3, and soon 4. Edmonton in 02, 08 and 12 and Calgary this summer.
  5. Side fills are commonplace these days. Even though most acts are using in ears, most rock bands still have wedge monitors on stage. Funny story, one of my friends is a touring sound engineer and while touring with one current popular female star management refused to allow wedge monitors on the stage, even though this singer didn't like using only IEM. Management didn't want the view of her blocked, said it would make her look short if her legs couldn't be seen. Sorry for getting sidetracked
  6. I might try for Calgary Saddledome. I would think that you would also have to have a self addressed and postage paid envelope along with it to have any hope of getting it back.
  7. Have any of you guys actually received your tickets yet? I'm starting to get nervous. I know it's months away.
  8. I picked SOR. Mainstream hit so it gets the average guy into the show right away, I never get tired of it, I still love it to this day. Even subdivisions is a great opener, being a mainstream song. Way better than Limelight to open the show.
  9. That would be cool, but I fear it's unlikely.
  10. Why is is that they shortened up all the old Concert videos? I love the X3 DVD's but I sure with GUP and ESL were complete shows. What is the point of stripping songs out? If something was less than perfect its not the end of the world. They are human after all
  11. Not sure if anyone else posted this, but you'll have to stay tuned on this. Around The Basses with Rush’s Geddy Lee Rush bassist Geddy Lee gives us his picks and predictions for the base runners in the 2013 MLB season, and discusses and plays music from the influential bass players in his life. Listen to this hour-long exclusive discussion with Deep Tracks host Earle Bailey! Airtime: Monday April 1, 2 pm ET Rebroadcasts: Tuesday April 2, 11 pm ET; Thursday April 4, 6 am ET; Saturday April 6, 12 pm ET If you don't have Sirius/XM, or you don't want to sit in your driveway listening you can sign up for a free trial of the online streaming from your pc
  12. Wow, really tough pick as I love all the live albums. Even though Geddy's voice was still awesome on Show of hands Alex's guitar sound ruins that period for me. He got way into the flanger sound of the times and it is just too raw and over polished. Too bad because I thought the suits period was cool. By TFE the raw heavy guitar sound is back. Anyways I think the peak must have been power windows tour. Musical peak and I freaking love exit stage left even though the video quality blows compared to others.
  13. I hadn`t even heard of this `musictoday`until yesterday, never used them before. Hopefully they are legit because you guys talked about it, I`m surprised they don`t email a receipt like ticketmaster does. It also drive me nuts that dates are announced and the first pre sales start a few hours later. This isn`t enough time to try and ask any of your friends if they want to come, or arrange further distance travel if you have to.
  14. I just scored 2 row 13 floors for calgary. You can still get row 15 floors for vancouver. Good thing someone mentioned it. Right now the American express presale would have put you in the back of the lower bowl.
  15. New dates just posted! Hamilton July 6 and Halifax July 12!
  16. I know it makes me sound like an impatient jerk, but we live with a pretty packed schedule, and really need all the notice I can get to try and make a date or 2. Calgary is only 200 miles away, so it should be a safe bet, but until the dates come out, you just don't know. I would love love love to the Gorge Wash on the list!
  17. I would sure like to have a few pulled out. Cygnus bk1 would be a top request, AFTK, By Tor, Something for nothing. The R30 setlist was pretty sweet, and I think it should have made most happy. At this point I feel there is some songs that really can't be left out: TSOR, Subdivisions, La Villa, 2112 with finale, YYZ. I know I will get flamed for it but Red Barchetta is big for me, I would drop TS or Limelight to keep it. Maybe FM radio where you live has ruined it, but I've never heard it on the radio so it's not ruined for me. Keep Bravado.
  18. I wish they would quit dragging it out and tell us. I need to know where I'm headed!! Calgary? Gorge? Vancouver?
  19. This person is either a class clown or has never looked at a map/globe. No rock tour on 1 day breaks would play Toronto, then Calgary, then Quebec City.
  20. I thought Rush could have or at least should have been in the running for this years Grey Cup half time show. That's Canadian Superbowl in short. It was the 100th time the game was played, and it was in Toronto, I couldn't think of better circumstances. The opted for Beiber instead (Barf)
  21. Fourtunetly I don't recall any particularily miserable people at any Rush shows I've been at, not that I would let it bring me down. But I did want to chime in because a few nights ago I had the pleasure of seeing Sir Paul Mccartney for the first time. My friend and I were having a good time but these clowns behind us were talking constantly through every non beatles song like Mrs Vandebilt and Band on the run. I wasn't going to let it ruin those songs for me so I stood up to block their view. I think the most annoying thing was that when he was speaking, somewhat softly, in between songs paying tribute to his lost friends we couldn't hear most of it. It's like they were at home watching a baseball that already had a 10-0 lead.
  22. At least they know from experience that they can fill Foro Sol in Mexico City.
  23. I haven't actually been to concert there, but if there is a second leg that goes to The Gorge in Washington state that would probably be a steller choice. Another good choice would be Mexico City if they made it there next year.
