  1. If you read Far and Away, he was actually in a somewhat similar situation...he was incredibly gracious and did the same thing...invited the folks to the show. I'm sure you are probably jesting about Neil, but he's not a prick.
  2. Ha! This is the 8th anniversary of my 29th birthday. So, Sheldon, do I get my birthday whacks...or is that just when you find out I've lied about being sick?
  3. Hi everyone! Thanks so much! Oh, once I get back from taking my daughter to her summer camp today...I'll have the stereo cranking. :)
  4. Mmm, no. Considering their dinner was, oh what, four or five HOURS long? :P
  5. Ah, to be a fly on that wall and experience it all...
  6. Yep...I think there are too many expectations in life that no one can ever be held to. Movies, TV and those with so much money they don't know what to do with but make people feel inferior make us all think that's how life should be...and the reality is we're all just trying to get through the day and maintain some happiness. No one should be made to feel inferior, but if you go around thinking that because every moment isn't as perfect as it is in a script, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. And you WILL be disappointed every single time. Writing a letter may be a good idea. If he doesn't respond to that - and considering what you have described just months into your marriage - I'm not willing to bet he would be one to better himself through counseling. Whatever you do...I'd keep kids off the radar until you two can achieve some equilibrium. Kids will NOT make your marriage better if it is already bad - having two within the first three years of our marriage was not fun and we were already pretty stable as husband and wife at that point.
  7. I prefer his Converse, too, but he's got 60 year old tootsies and he does a lot of standing. LOL I'm not even 40 and I refuse to wear shoes that are not comfy.
  8. It took my husband and I at least the first 7 or 8 years (and two kids) to finally hit our stride. The first five years were the hardest and then it magically got easier - seriously. We celebrated 13 years in June and are very happy. However, my husband would NEVER say anything about my weight or flexibility out loud. I can't speak for what he thinks, but he would NEVER disrespect me like that. That is the trouble with young folks these days (I'm only 37, so young is early 20s to me) is there is no respect...for anyone or anything. We go to church as a family...we have the same political views...we have the same family values and agree on how to raise our kids. If you can't agree on fundamentals, you are going to have a long, hard, resentful road ahead. If you feel you had to give up your faith for another person (whether you wanted to or not), what else will you give up to make him happy? That's not a marriage. My husband and I make concessions on little things, but when it comes to the big decisions, we are a TEAM, first and foremost. If you are not a team with your spouse, you're just two people bound by a legal piece of paper. That's not a marriage, either. Just food for thought.
  9. Is he a Nigerian Prince? If so...go for it. ;) Many creeps out there...'tis why I won't let my kids have FB or Instagram accounts (or even uncontrolled email, for that matter) yet.
  10. I never leave...I paid good money to see a show and dammit, I'm staying! :)
  11. Considering they taped two separate shows, I'm willing to bet we'll get most of the songs...I'm thinking Limelight is out - hoping TSOR is included. Were they playing that during the shows that were recorded?
  12. Any talk of where it will be next year?
  13. Wasn't the TM tour stuff released in November? I would think it'll be around then.
  14. SO many listed here. I have goosebumps just reading this thread! Sensory overload! :)
  15. My workday flew by as I started sorting out my new office. It's nice to have a big office. :)
  16. Most of the albums took months of off-and-on listens to really enjoy them as a whole.
  17. That's what I miss about driving a stick. Downshifting with no brake lights. :)
  18. are you serious? :o Sure. I'm Neil. Nice to make your acquaintance. I thought Neil came here in the guise of GeminiRising. Neil is EVERYWHERE.
  19. There's gotta be hundreds of "good" sites. We all settle on the mediocre because that's how we roll. And that's what pleases Neil. :)
  20. I'm sorry. Would "Run away!! Run away!!" be more of a Neil thing? ;) Ridiculous thread, ridiculous posts. Whadya want? I do this for free. :P
  21. are you serious? :o Sure. I'm Neil. Nice to make your acquaintance.
