  1. Yesterday marked 50 years since the release of Zappa's first album.

  7. Happy Birthday to the album that led to me seeing this great band live for the first time.
  8. I spent 8 hours at the local drag strip watching racing. Got to witness the track record being broken as a car went 200.5 mph. Also turned into a lobster in the 30 degree weather.
  9. Does this thing use batteries? If so how much are they?
  10. f**k stubhub. I am so grateful that I was able to find tickets during the presale, but everything about today pisses me off. We should not be seeing a venue sold out within seconds, and then 2,000+ tickets ending up online for 5 times the price. Am I on Hipbase or TRF? Almost no one over there got tix in the public on sale. Ppl were getting "sorry no tickets" one minute after the onsale time. Stunning that the Hip tour is making R40 look like an easy ticket. I lucked out on Tuesday for the 2nd Edmonton show. So grateful I could get them, considering how few people got tickets on hipbase.
  11. I sell these. A good battery powered stihl mower goes for $750 with two batters and a charger, your batters will last roughly one hour.and should last 1000 + charges. And the mower is light enough that you can pick them up with one hand to move them around. Once you buy the batteries and mower, you are set for life, no need for fuel or oil for your saw. And Stihl also makes Weedeaters, and hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers that use the same battery.

  13. Neil Peart asked them to open for Rush on the Roll The Bones tour in an attempt to make them big in the U.S. but they turned it down because they were promoting Road Apples and writing Fully Completely.
  14. I Love Space Dyed vest. it's DT doing Floyd. Spellbinding. Mick The Spirit Carries On is another great Pink Floyd-esque song.
  15. I wasn't sure about travelling for this show, then yesterday they announced four more shows, including one on my birthday. There is no way I'm missing it.
  16. À tout le monde À tous mes amis Je vous aime Je dois parti - Nicks Final Words.
  17. He died doing what he loved, playing music. On the other hand, he ruined a great night of music by dying during a gig.
  18. It's an amazing live album, it's just that everything else is better.
  19. Rio R30 R40 Snakes & Arrows Time Machine Tour Clockwork Angels. Time Machine and Clockwork Angels were two amazing tours, that would rank at the top of some other bands careers. But I have to put them at the bottom of the list. RUSH is just that good live.
  20. I'll do it. :) What am I listening for? How he sounds? Edit: It just occurred to me you might want someone who really knows their stuff to do it. Rio I'm listening to now. He still sounds like the old Geddy Lee. That crowd kept singing along with him and going wild. This version of Tom Sawyer is the best performance Rush has ever done.
  21. Remembering my Grandpa last night, during the local 24 hour cancer walk. It's the first time in a long time that I cried.
  22. Our city had our annual Relay For Life cancer walk this weekend. We are the only 24 hour Relay in Canada. I've been attending this event for the last 15 years, and this year, I hit a personal high, walking for 11 hours and 40 kms.. It hurts to move today, but it is worth it. Edit: I forgot to add, this was the 24th year of the event, and they set a new record, raising $505,000
