  1. I've been wanting to say that I was at the "R40 Live: 40th Anniversary Tour" in Vancouver, and I got setlist G. Before going to it, I wanted, and would've liked either setlist E, or setlist G. For hoping, it was E because I liked to have seen, and heard "the Camera Eye" instead of "Yyz". "the Camera Eye", is, and has been my third favorite Rush song. I got "Jacob's Ladder", which is, and has been my second favorite Rush song behind "Xanadu". For performing "Losing It", I was hoping "Ben Mink", would've been live to perform it, with Rush, like he did on their "Signals" c.d., and album, and he was. I thought it was an outstanding concert. With a few other song picks, and choices how I would've done for it, I have posted it in, and on another thread. I think, and feel it's hard that they won't record, and make music, and tour together anymore.

You are very fortunate to have seen that concert.

I like The Camera Eye very much too. There's lots of live versions of it on youtube.

Losing It, Natural Science, Jacob's Ladder, Hemispheres, Double Necks in Xanadu. What an epic night that was.

:o My friend, how are you doing??? I haven't seen you in such a long time. :hi:

I'm good, not posting here much, since they've quit performing and writing new music.

  3. These sector boxes is very good ones! I think they fixed those faults. I think they got replaced! So as long as you buy the boxes in a real store, I dont think there will be any problems!

There are very few UK record stores outside one chain and they don't stock the sets in-store or online anymore.

Especially as HMV might well be going into administration... Not sure about online though. :sigh:

    I will miss HMV.

I was sad when HMV left Canada, but then Sunrise Records took over, six months later. They are 75% music, 25% random merch, complete opposite of HMV.

  4. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I was a huge Harry Potter fan when the books were being released, picking up each book on day 1 and have read them all multiple times. Loved the first two movies, then PoA came out, and they had a new Dumbledore. I couldn't handle the change and never watched another Harry Potter movie. On Thursday I started a marathon and plan on watching all of them. Goblet of Fire tonight.

I still am a massive fan of the books and whilst I like the movies, the changes throughout really piss me off.

For all the hard work put into these movies, the can come off so lazy.

It took me three days to get through Goblet of Fire, and I'm not sure if I want to carry on. The books are ingrained in my mind, and there are way too many changes that make me shake my head. No quidditch world cup footage, Dolby didn't give Harry the gillyweed,, and so on, that it makes it hard to want to carry on.

Exactly my issue. I really love the audio books as well as the illustrated editions. Visually, tonally and pretty much in all other respects, the Potter movies let me down.

Again I enjoy them, but I have to detach myself from the books when watching them.

I think I'm going to stop here, at Goblet of Fire, and pull out the paperbacks again. Start another journey from the beginning. The one that we know and love.

They did a commendable job with Order Of The Phoenix. It's the shortest in the series, but based on the longest book. And yet somehow it stays fairly faithful to the novel in a way Half Blood Prince (The series nadir) doesn't.

Order of the Phoenix has Umbridge. I can't stand her in the books, not sure I'd want to watch her torture Harry on screen.

  8. Odd that they're doubling up in some of these cities. I wouldn't consider Albany a hot bed for metal. But it's the only other show they're playing in New York state that is outside of the New York city region. Maybe they figured they can pull in strong enough crowds from around the state for both shows. Albany is a five hour drive and that's as close as they're getting to where I am.

Too bad the Canadian dates didn't have anything for southern Ontario.

It's also on a weekend so they must imagine folks will turn out. Also surprised at no PA or OH shows either

Yet they're hitting seemingly every city in British Columbia.

Maybe that's where the strongest concentration of Priest fans is in the whole world??

I highly doubt it. Prince George never has big name bands come by that aren't country. And I landed two tickets row 2 on the floor!!!!!

  9. 2. Freewill

This is one of the greatest Rush songs of all time!

"You can choose a ready guide

    In some celestial voice

If you choose not to decide

You still have made a choice

You can choose from phantom fears

    And kindness that can kill

    I will choose a path that’s clear

    I will choose free will."

Rush have the most amazing ability to write world class melodies, kickass rock songs and still deliver truly amazing lyrics with extraordinary themes. Whilst rock and metal is often bogged down with the themes of sex, lust, hedonism and, especially during the eighties, sappy romance, it is amazing to hear a band like Rush take bold leaps towards a more radio friendly sound, and yet still keep the message so bloody intelligent!

Thunderous performance form Peart here. More of those insane high vocals from Geddy. Alex, whilst more restrained at this stage in the bands history than he was during the early albums, still adds so much melody and vibrancy to proceedings. Freewill is the sound of a band working as a unit, together, to create something grand.

Freewill is a killer Rush moment.

    10/10

Freewill and Limelight are two songs I can never listen to without being disappointed. They are both amazing songs, that I was never able to see live on the last two tours (3 shows).

  10. The Avs have the best line in hockey and I love it. Rantanen, MacKinnon and Landeskog are 1,2&5 in league scoring and 1,2,3 in +/-. And Rantanen is the first player since Gretzky in 82, to get 15 assists in 11 games at 21 or under. And 11 of his assists are primary. If we can somehow trade for or sign a proper number two center, then we'll be cup contenders.

  11.

Rush 2112 Press Kit 3 page bio typed on original Mercury Record Company letterhead (before they merged with Polygram) 3 page press clipping with record company promo photo. All of this comes in a custom folder with the album cover (in black and white) pictured on the front cover.

I can only imagine this wasn't included in the recent reissue because they didn't have one.

$75 (Also include free original vinyl copy of 2112)

You'll be the only one on your block to have one.

    Now $70

    Pictures?

  12. Hey Earl,

Go f**k yourself. I can afford to buy anything i want at any time, anywhere.

This is a shitty 40th anniversary release. Period.

    Sincerely,

    R. T. Pierpont.

This is the guy who slagged off Rush and any other band be likes to make Ghost appear to be the second coming of Christ lol

You're right though. I was looking forward to this release until I actually looked at the contents.

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!

How have I ever slagged off RUSH for GHOST?

    Hilarious!

Just because I hate "Vapor Trails?"

    No band is perfect.

I told Tobias right to his face one fateful night in Reno in 2015 that he and his band were now my new RUSH since Rush retired that same year.

Tobias actually shook my hand and bowed to me for that statement. He was flattered and totally respectful and amazing! WTF???

No band on the Earth will ever touch RUSH.

Keep listening to your Nightwish and other bands in that same genre. Happiness to you and your lover.

    I'm going to Toronto baby!

    No ill will to anyone!

If you guys and gals don't like my midnight banter than fuckking IGNORE ME!

    DUH!

    RUSH ON!

Everyone on the Earth is a hypocrite.

    Amen

Oh. Maybe I misunderstood? You used to say Rush is dead and it always sounded like you meant as in, since VT or something as everything seemed to be negative haha!

(Earl please note I am not intending to fall out or provoke you. Your messages are currently quite terse and repetitive and irritating to read and it's hard to know what to talk about or how to respond when you prattle on as you do.

On a really random note, do you know Mekong Delta? They are amazing prog thrash and thanks to Bathory, I rediscovered the album I love and am hearing more. They are fantastic! They are from the eighties).

Mekong Delta? Heading over to YouTube now to check them out.

  13. They ship out of Virginia now for my NE US location, anyway. Just an update—they got my order out in a very reasonable time and it was packed pretty well, but one coffee mug I ordered was chipped. I emailed with some photos and got a robo-response saying they respond within 48 business hours (you think, oh 2 days, but really it’s 6 business days at 8 hours per day). Anyway, I was pleasantly shocked to get an email one week later that they shipped a replacement. Also gave a pre-printed return free-shipping label for the return of the chipped one. Sigh of relief.

I received the Clockwork Angels ultimate deluxe version from their site and it was missing a DVD. I sent an email saying that the 2nd DVD was missing, didn't get a response but had a disc arrive in the mail four days later.
