Last June I payed $385 for two floor seats for KISS.  That's what happens when they play in a 5,000 seat arena.  This summer I'm paying $110 for Metallica, $85 for John Fogerty, $75 for the Stone Temple Pilots and $105 for Rush.  I also have to travel 8 hours to Vancouver for Metallica and 8 hours to Edmonton for RUSH and both trips are going to cost me a day of work so I'm looking at $1000 per trip plus tickets and this summer is going to cost $2375~.

    Holy shit that's a lot of $$$...

That's the joy of living in the middle of nowhere. You've gotta pay for gas, food, hotel, concert & then since you're in a big city you've gotta go shopping.

Somewhere I have a rush painter's hat...for some reason they were the rage in the 80s. I also have a HYF balloon that I got when it fell from the ceiling back on the 88 tour.

    Like this one?

God, that's it... as horrid as I remember it to be. Had a Van Halen one too.

Don't feel bad. I bought one at the Cow Palace. Grace Under Pressure tour. laugh.gif

That one is in great shape...puts mine to shame. Even 25 years ago the paint was wearing off.

It's in great shape because I never wore it! laugh.gif It's been in one of my closets for the last 28 years!

I never wore mine either. Yours was good quality (although I have recollection of them being sold on that tour). Mine is a s cheap as it looks. A paper visor and the material of the hat is like a cross between tissue and plastic...it's a POS.

    Can I have those.

I normally avoid leaving anything of any value inside my car at any time. I also never lock the car doors, that way they don't have to break my window or door to get in to find nothing.

i use to leave my glove compartment open also which was empty. biggrin.gif

Where do you put your insurance papers?

I picked Freewill just because I don't care for the song. Although most of those I personally wouldn't mind if they dropped, this will be my girlfriend's first Rush show and I'd hate for her to not hear Tom Sawyer or Spirit, or most of the songs on that list live at least once.

Some people have heard Tom Sawyer a billion times since 1981, so it's understandable that you aren't thrilled about hearing it again, but try to remember that Rush shows aren't just for the longtime fans. Look around at your next show and you'll see a lot of new, younger fans and although you've heard a song thousands of times, and seen Neil's drum solo, keep in mind that lots of people there haven't. Shouldn't they get a chance to enjoy it too? .

I've never seen RUSH live but I've heard Tom Sawyer more than enough on the radio to last me a life time.

  6. I've got tickets to the show in Edmonton second tier row 29 of 40 two sections over from the stage and I'm gonna be standing the whole time. I saw Deep Purple back in February and I was in Row 5 on the floor. My dad and I stood up for the first two songs and then sat down because absolutely nobody was standing. When they started their encore with Woman From Tokyo I turned to my dad and said F*** this. I then asked the woman in front of me to move over a little. I climbed to the front row and rocked out for Woman From Tokyo, Hush and Smoke On The Water.
  7. I tried to order it from HMV on Friday and they say it's discontinued. When is Rush going to start re-making it so people can purchase one of their top albums?
