  1. This is probably the most spot-on thing I've read yet since the tour started, USB. I think you're right, that the next tour will likely be a farewell. Best-of, not supporting a record. I don't think they're contractually obligated for any more recordings now that CA is out (wasn't the Roadrunner deal for TMT and CA?). They're only immortal for a limited time. The farewell tour. Geez. Hard to fathom. Maybe they'll even come out and do a final bow together when each show is over. I suspect there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house. If "The Garden" doesn't sound like the last thing they have to say on record, than I don't know what does.
  2. I will... as soon as I figure out where to host the picture...
  3. Too bad, because an R40 tour would be cool. Each set could have an 7-8-minute instrumental medley (a la R30) kick it off, and perhaps another near the end, or for part of the encore. Good way to hit a lot of birds with a few stones, and without trashing Geddy's voice... then when the rest of the set plays out like this year's tour has -- which I happen to love -- no one, NO ONE, should have a reason to b***h.
  4. Personalized and all, my autographs arrived this afternoon. One of the most Rushtastic days I've had!
  5. QUOTE (djfunkywill @ Sep 14 2012, 11:53 AM) QUOTE (goose @ Sep 13 2012, 11:18 PM)Scars, Available Light Kid Gloves, Afterimage The Weapon Mystic Rhythms I agree... this would have made an great setlist! I agree with all of these, along with Prime Mover.

Second, as I watched the Indy show tonight, the logic of this setlist dawned on me...It comes down to the CA story(the novel). The themes of the songs played line up pretty damn well with the story. Traffic is starting to move, I'll elaborate later. Best. Post. Ever. This should be on a shirt that comes out of the dryers on the R40 tour.
  7. Wondering if the postman will bring my Time Machine trade advertisement back autographed today. Fingers crossed. It's going up in my office matted/framed next to my pic with Ged and Alex from the 4/15/11 Cleveland show. I'm doing five shows on this leg, but only one (Pittsburgh) got the RF seal of approval for where to send a package to. Thanks for the heads-up Amy... I hope they don't hold it against me that I sent it from Ohio. Nice pic. Very cool.
  8. QUOTE (rocketom @ Sep 14 2012, 07:59 AM)I disagree with you. Since they only do a minimal amount of shows each leg I think they will just cut those cities they dont sell well out. They're not playing Milwaukee this leg, those hard core fans will come down to Chicago, that is why most of the seats are sold for tomorrow night. Instead of playing Cincinnati, Columbus and Indianapolis they'll just play 2 of the cities. I agree the days of playing Moline, Toledo and Peoria are over. Disagree. A place like Toledo (with a venue which holds about 7,500) is almost no-brainer: a 75 minute drive from Cleveland and from Detroit. There are easily 2,000 hardcore Rush fans in each of those cities who would make the drive, along with college kids (up to 1,000) and Toledo residents who don't get a good shot at big entertainment. like larger markets do. IMHO, Youngstown wouldn't be similarly wise statistically, despite proximity to Pittsburgh after seeing the upper deck closed off @ Consol Tuesday night... All that said, I wouldn't bank on a huge second full leg of this tour. Maybe 12-14 more cities. I'm still surprised at all the complaining. RUSH is playing (most) of their "Quadrophenia" -- which is brilliant, written late in their career, as they're starting down the third base line toward home, to paraphrase Pratt -- and rarities that they feel they can do justice with. We truly have been spoiled by these guys for a LONG time, we're lucky they came back in 2002 and we'll be lucky if we get an R40 tour before Pratt decides his body can't do it anymore, or he has a motorcycle accident and CANNOT continue... or Dirk decides his throat can't do it anymore, or Lerxst's sense of humor falls down the stairs and breaks its funny bone in 362 places. Spare the synth, spoil the child.
  9. QUOTE (LaPirata2 @ Sep 7 2012, 09:56 PM) I don't know who "Tony R" is but he might as well go to the FBI right now and enter the witness protection program... To his friends, he's known as "Tony R." To the rest of us, "Jack A."
  10. I think that the R40 tour will be more like what some are/were expecting. This seemed like an acknowledgement of the 25th anniversary of the Hold Your Fire tour with CA thrown in. Definitely some missed ops while they have strings (JL and Losing It) but let's remember this is opening night and they're still working out the bugs. Maybe we'll see some adjustments...
  11. Wow, there sure is a lot of bitching from a select few about the set. That's what your DVDs at home -- and the CDs you brought in the car to the show with you -- are for. Sheeesh. Three guys pushing 60 killing it on stage and you guys are whining. Happy much?
  12. I suspect two sets (2nd all/most of CA) and an "epic" encore. If they play three sets I might pass out from all the excitement. I knew I should have bought one of those medicalert necklaces when I bought beer earlier.
  13. I'm getting vertigo from the sheer awesomeness -- that's an awful lot of rocket sauce for the first set.
  14. GRAND DESIGNS!!! I so cannot wait to see this show... It's gonna be like Richfield Coliseum 1987 all over again! PLUS CA!
