  1. A new Megadeth CD is out. It's called "Dystopia" I believe. Amazon just shipped it to me. Hopefully I will be able to listen to it tomorrow.
  2. Has anyone heard the new Dream Theater album yet? I preordered on Amazon, but they say it won't be at my house until it is released on January 29. Also, it's supposed to be a double CD.
  3. Killer version of Sugaree from them here... Yeah, they played that one last night! Great value for the $ for that show. I love smaller venues. Better sound, less riff raff.
  4. Tedeschi Trucks Band. Just left and hour ago. Performance was at Bell Auditorium in Augusta, GA. Must see band for anyone who loves music. Blues, gospel, jazz, soul, and rock n roll all tied into one amazing performance. This band is a lot like Rush in four aspects: The songs are epic. The performers are all consummate professionals. The sound was perfect. The band is willing to try different stuff. Derek trucks has to be the best slide guitarist alive. Just my biased opinion. Susan Tedeschi can flat out sing and even played the blues herself. 2 drummers who did 2 solos, one time where they both looked away from their kits for 10 minutes. Sax, trumpet, and trombone player, plus three harmonizers, and a bass player. Also, a pianist, who played the organ and flute. The warm up band played 45 minutes and then after a break Tedeschi Trucks played 2 1/2 hours. Venue was small and I was able to snag a 4th row aisle seat on a whim. It just so happened that my company told me to come to Aiken to grab a load tomorrow, so I was able to take my personal vehicle. The only disappointment was the lack of black people at the show. I don't understand how an area that is 50% black, such as where I live, doesn't have any black people at a blues concert. Weird.
  5. What did my fellow TRFers think of this movie? It was a good movie, along the lines of "The Matrix" but was too hurried. It left a lot out, but had good philosophy in it.
  6. "The Matrix" is the only movie I'll watch every time it's on. It had a profound impact on my life.
  7. Yeah, I told a friend I'd be happy just to win a smaller prize. I'd have the $, no one would know it, and I'd be off the radar. You'd have a HUGE target on your back if you won the jackpot. Seriously, you'd have to go into hiding.
  8. So, if one of us wins this lottery, do y'all think Rush would play a few shows for $50 million?
  9. My work pool (104 total tickets) matched the Powerball four times, and we matched 3 of 5 white numbers once. A grand total of 23 dollars won. Do you have a contract with the other workers, you know, just in case you happen to win?
  10. I got 2 white balls plus the red powerball, which is $7, so that pays for last two drawings, and half of the next drawing.
  11. Yeah, $900 million now. I just bought the winning ticket here in Aiken, SC. @$900 million, even if you take the annuity, that's over $30 million/year, before taxes.
  12. I'll buy a ticket. But, just one. I'll never understand when the lottery gets this big, why they can't just draw 675 random names out of a hat and give them $1 million, a piece, instead of giving one person all the $
  13. I definitely agree with the sentiments. There was a movie with Michael Crane and Demi Moore where they stole these diamonds from a huge bank. Then, he sold them and gave the $ to Demi Moore. She, in turn, gave it all away. Two or three times in the movie the question was raised : "Are you a giver or a taker". Good stuff. I can tell you one thing that I learned since my mom died. Material possessions don't amount to a hill of beans. All of her clothes and jewelry is still sitting in the bedroom in my parents house. It is completely and utterly worthless and useless. Relationships and quality time spent together are all that matter.
  14. A lot of what I buy is out of obligation. Many of the people that I bought stuff for, this year, I've never met, or rarely met, but I did it so that I could buy my nieces and nephew a PS4 and Rock Band 4. He he he. BTW, the Rush tune on that game is: Drumroll, please: "A Passage To Bangkok"! Seriously, I don't know why I do it, and it's stupid. None of those people that I bought for are likely to give me anything, nor call and say, "Thank You," but they might. Like I said, I don't know them, and I basically look at it as another form or marriage tax. The thing is, the people who I'd like to buy a gift for, whom I like, some of whom are on this forum, I don't buy for, since I spent all my money on these other guys, and my wife would probably start asking questions.
  15. Yeah, where has Narps been? Is he OK, like like his arm and stuff.
  16. Do you have a favorite sports team? If so, NONE of the players on that team were present when your grandfather was cheering for the same team. You still love the team just as much. I don't see why bands can't continue the same way.
  17. What would have been very prophet in that movie is if MJF said, "Here, let me Google that for ya!"
  18. OK, lately I've been reading signs that I swear said something that they didn't say: for example, I'll think a sign says a certain item is on sale, but it's a different item. Also, the same thing is happening when I listen to people. I will swear up and down that they said something, but they didn't say it, and later on, it is proven that they were right. Also, I'm starting to misspell words, when I write them. Basically, I'm switching letters around. For example, Pencasola, instead of Pensacola. I'm a stickler for spelling, like OCD stickler. I'm 39. Why is this stuff happening to me? I've been embarrassed several times lately, due to the misperceptions. Thz
  19. Happy Birthday, dude. Sorry I missed this thread yesterday!
  20. I'll be damned. That's what a genius looks like.
  21. I've met Narp, JD, and Mara. Everyone was cool! Lol!
