Genesis - what album to start with?
rushfanforever! replied to jamie's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Sheldon, great albums to recommended, next up: Abacab Invisible Touch We can't Dance Calling All Stations - note new singer is Ray Wilson (Phil Collins left in '96), but Tony and Mike wrote most of the lyrics. Some don't like it, but this Genesis fan thinks it's bearable (meaning okay, not trash). You? Turn it on Again DVD/CD - last reunion Tour in 2007 with Phil and the guys. Great Collection of all their hits with some Gabriel stuff thrown in for good measure! I only own We Can't Dance and Calling All Stations and We Can't Dance is amazing while I can't make it past the first song n Calling All Stations. Yeah, CAS is tough to listen to for the casual listener, as the "where's Phil?" kicks in..as I was a "Tony" freak years ago, that kept me going! LOL!! -

Unless the next tour is called Clockwork Angels Continued, I believe we have seen the last of the "Stringers". :( They sure did rock out during the shows, especially Gerry H, whom I had the great pleasure to meet and hang out with numerous times before/after some CA shows. What a great decent guy!! :ebert:

Taking photos at concerts - what kind of camera do you use?
rushfanforever! replied to Mika's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Yeah, I've been real successful with my IPhone ;) ...most pics are so blurry and distorted I can't make out what I was trying to capture! So much for rocking out to :rush: and trying to get good pics of the guys at the same time! I'll substitute my phone for computer here... :fuckinputer: Huge though always manages to take great pics!!....- 45 replies

2013 VMAs...anyone watching?
rushfanforever! replied to laughedatbytime's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Well, she certainly is the attention-grabbing whore right now, isn't she?....that should keep her wallet full for the next couple months! :boo hiss: ....trust me, 5 years from now, we'll all be saying, "Miley Who?? And no, I can't remember the last time I watched MTV; it's all trash anyway (or I'm getting old and sensible!) -
So...Clockwork Angels Tour on DVD/Blu-ray?
rushfanforever! replied to Alchemical's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Hope they have bonus material on the DVD of the loud boos for Wenner at the opening of the HOF induction! Just Killer!! I can listen to myself in the crowd going, BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!. (Note, this beginning segment was entirely edited out of the HBO show, along with the 5+ minute ovation for Rush.) Wenner was left squirming on stage like a worm on a fishhook...just where we wanted you Jann, you little piece of shit!! :laughing guy: :laughing guy: -
Geddy- ditch the sloganed t-shirts next tour
rushfanforever! replied to GeminiRising79's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Poor Alex needs some breathable clothes. He looks like the Michelin man in a wetsuit. I'm sure its uncomfortable as hell in concert. Nah, he wouldn't wear them if he wasn't comfortable on stage or if it interfered with his playing. He looks rather snazzy in those sports jackets if you ask me!! -
Hey Snowdog! You providing the fire resistant body armor?? :scared: If I expressed my true views in there, I'd get flamed right off the damned board! Don't get me started about all the Reagan/Bush snake lovers in there!!! I gotta hold my breath! Ugghhhh!! :bang bang: :bang bang: :bang bang: :bang bang: :bang bang: :laughing yellow guy: :laughing yellow guy:

VIP ticketing- would you prefer another way?
rushfanforever! replied to sun dog's topic in On The Lighted Stage
As someone who has gone the VIP route almost 100% of the time this tour (no VIP option in Milwaukee), the only thing I'd change personally with the whole VIP thing is the option to buy the swag after the 1st purchase. I got 3 sets of goodies this leg, and 2 sets last leg. Sure, I could offer the extra sets for sale on eBay, but buying the prime tix is the sole reason why I always go VIP. I'm not very patient, so watching the tix boards on a daily basis to see if some good ones drop would just drive me nuts!! VIP ensures a great seat (yes, I've gotten 14th row last leg and I'm not complaining!) In reference to the post above, where the person got 15th row, VIP sell outs are based on demand and also how fast you can get checked out. Fair?? Maybe not, but that's the current game.... -
Happy 1st Anniversary, gangsterfurious!

Wow, it's only been a year thus far! Congrats!! -
That really sucks, man. Sorry to hear it. :( One of my college friends (and fellow Steven Wilson fan) got like ten band shirts stolen out of a washer in one of the laundromats around campus. He was super pissed, needless to say. Band shirts are important! So many memories. :7up: Dude.....I don't blame him.....it physically hurts. I had nearly 100 rock shirts in high school- between my brother and mom, they were all either stolen or ruined. My brother would borrow my coolest rock shirts because he wanted to wear it. He's much bigger than me and stretched them out every freaking time. Then, he went through a really weird phase and for some unknown reason, he would clean up our cats' hair balls or dogs' crap with MY SHIRTS. One time I came home from school to find my favorite AC/DC shirt in the trash- a few days before, it was my Rocky Horror Picture Show shirt- and I was in tears. My mom used to steal them either for herself, or give them to her boyfriends. Boy, this needs to be included in the "what pissed you off" thread...Geez...

The other three songs - major leagues That song - not fit for whiffle ball Don't you ever grow tired of shitting all over Vapor Trails Gary? I swear, we got to get you a new hobby! :P His other hobby is pissing all over Vapor Trails. Let's wait and see if Goobs likes the remastered version!! :guitar: I thought the original version kicked ass...raw emotion and power! :madra: His next hobby will be having a wank on the remastered version No, I think that will be a lot of the other people on the board who will be doing that. ;) You might be right Goobs, but how do you remaster something that's already awesome? Does it become Awesomest? IMO, it takes away from the original frame of mind....

Some serendipitous photos from KC
rushfanforever! replied to coventry's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Awesome!! -
Bingo! As a fan who only normally does VIP to get those great seats in question, I'm willing to pay the 300+ fee for the exclusive VIP package. Worth every penny in my opinion. I need to see the guys up close and interact with them, which isn't gonna happen if I'm halfway back on the floor or up in the bowl levels where I fighting to see (I'm "short" at 5'5"). But I do know others that have brokers lined up so they are ensured front row regardless of VIP package purchase or not. Stubhub is very popular for this very reason!
