  1. Anyone recognize the woman crying in the trailer? I know I bawled at times in LA; hope they didn't catch that on camera!

That looked like one of the organizers of RushCon whose name is Jillian. Not sure if it's her though.

    Yep, that was her!

  2. Alleged shooter booked for second-degree murder of Will Smith

The man accused of shooting and killing former Saints defensive end Will Smith on Saturday night in New Orleans has been booked on murder charges on Sunday.

New Orleans police announced that Cardell Hayes has been booked for second-degree murder after allegedly shooting both Smith and his wife after a traffic accident. There was reportedly an exchange of words after a Hummer driven by Hayes hit Smith’s car from behind and the argument eventually devolved into the fatal volley of shots.

“We are devastated and saddened by Will’s tragic and preventable death due to a senseless act that will leave a lasting scar on our community forever,” Saints owner Tom Benson said in a statement. “Will was more than an exceptional football player he was a father, a husband, a son, a brother and teammate to so many and an inspiration to countless more. He will be greatly missed by all those he touched and impacted both on and off the football field and his legacy will continue to shine. The Saints family is hurting and devastated as it has lost a member too young and too soon.”

Racquel Smith was hit in the leg twice and was taken to the hospital. The couple were parents to two sons and a daughter.

This sucks. Throw the book at this POS.

I'll be happy to drag his ass behind my car going 90!! Watch out for da bloody pulp heading down the road!!

  3. Report: Brees offered to help Saints make cap space for Norman

Before cornerback Josh Norman signed with Washington on Friday night, a surprising report emerged that he was drawing strong interest from New Orleans. That raised an obvious question: How on earth could the Saints, with $3.5 million in cap space, afford a premier free agent like Norman?

The answer is that Drew Brees was willing to create the space by agreeing to a new deal with the Saints. According to ESPN, Brees wanted Norman on the Saints and offered to re-do his contract to get the deal done.

Brees, who has the NFL’s highest cap hit this season at $30 million, is widely expected to work out a new contract with the Saints some time this year. But Brees apparently thinks highly enough of Norman that he was willing to expedite the process of getting a deal done if it would allow the Saints to get a deal done with Norman. Brees played against Norman several times when Norman played for the Panthers, and Brees apparently thinks Norman is the kind of player who could help the Saints get back to the Super Bowl.

It didn’t happen, as Washington made Norman a huge offer and Norman quickly accepted. But it speaks well for Norman that an opposing quarterback would have such a high opinion of him. And it speaks well for Brees’ future in New Orleans that he and the Saints are close enough on a new deal that one could have been done as soon as this weekend.

That's why Bree's is pure class!! Unlike these scumbags from NE, lol!!

  4. Gonna throw my two cents in here! Ready for the flame throwers too! :ranton: I think the enormous negativity stems from one thing: If the R40 tour was to be the F-I-N-A-L tour than bill it that way, not "last tour of this magnitude" crap! Sure the ticket prices would have gone to the moon, but at

least we would have known on the front end versus seeing Neil do a final bow in LA and saying "Bye Bye forever!" Are you kidding me?? No European leg

to least say thanks to those loyal fans?! Not everyone could afford to fly across the pond. Not fair at all! Not sure how Neil sleeps at night knowing he's pissed off his supposed best buds, Geddy and Alex, and many fans including me (and yes, I saw 7 shows this tour.)

Oh, and don't get me started about that he has a young one at home! I can only imagine his pain losing both first wife and daughter within a short time period. I do care what happened, but if he misses her so much, it's time to ditch the motorcycle traveling and stay at home with her!! :rage: Okay, :rantoff: !!!!

Yeah yeah, we've heard it all before. Grow up, will ya? ;)

I see I reeled in a flamethrower!! Good!! Hey Eagle, FYI...I'm plenty growed up!! It's a damn shame that our drummer doesn't share

this logic. Last time I checked you don't diss the establishment that feeds you!

  5. Went to the Jazz-Lakers game tonight to see Kobe play locally here in SLC one last time! Besides the fact that the Jazz won the game by about 50 points, Kobe might as well just remained on the bench! I realize that he's doing his farewell victory lap, but C'mon! No energy, no challenging the offense, or nor charging to the basket like old Kobe. If he's totally out of gas, don't bother to dress and play! Just sit there and hear the numerous chants and see the ovations! I do have the greatest respect for him, but I felt like standing up and screaming, "Hey Kobe, you're NOT retired just yet!! :smash:

  8. Sean Payton agrees to 5-year extension with Saints

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a five-year extension through the 2020 season, the coach said Wednesday.

The extension is worth in excess of $45 million, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder. Payton, who has coached the Saints for 10 years, was already one of the NFL's highest-paid coaches at $8.5 million in his previous deal, which ran through 2017.

Payton revealed the news -- actually pointing to his briefcase, which contained the unsigned contract -- during his news conference at the NFL owners meetings.

Sean Payton has an 87-57 record in his nine seasons as coach of the Saints. Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

In addition, the Saints are continuing negotiations with quarterback Drew Brees on a proposed four-year contract extension, sources told Werder, which would also keep him with the team through the 2020 season.

There was ample speculation throughout last season that Payton might consider leaving New Orleans for another team if the Saints agreed to work out a compensation package -- which made for a tense couple of days after the season.

But nothing materialized, and Payton emphasized his long-term commitment to the Saints by the middle of that week during a unique hourlong news conference attended by owners Tom and Gayle Benson, among others.

Payton said Wednesday that the contract extension became a "formality" after that point, but there was no rush to get it done. He said he worked out the details with general manager Mickey Loomis and president Dennis Lauscha, among others.

"There's so much of you in there, that I don't see myself working anywhere else," Payton said of his decade in New Orleans. "There's been really good stability and consistency at ownership. We just had dinner with Mr. B. last night, Mickey, and I think that doesn't guarantee anything, but it gives you a chance. It's been very functional.

"That stability, obviously, I don't take for granted."

Among active coaches, only Bill Belichick of the Patriots (16 seasons), Marvin Lewis of the Bengals (13) and Mike McCarthy of the Packers (10) have been with their teams longer than Payton, who has been in New Orleans for nine seasons, not including his 2012 suspension.

Payton began his first and only NFL head-coaching job with the Saints in 2006, the season after the team had been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Since then, he has gone 87-57 in the regular season with five playoff appearances and one Super Bowl title in the 2009 season. His playoff record is 6-4.

His overall record excludes the 2012 season, when he was suspended in connection with the NFL's bounty investigation.

Negotiations with Brees, who has one year remaining on his own contract, has picked up recently as the Saints have incentive to lower his NFL-high salary-cap figure of $30 million for 2016.

"I know Mickey and [brees' agent, Tom Condon] have had quite a bit of discussion in the last week and a half," Payton said. "I would say ongoing now. It always takes a little longer than you want it to, and they're never the same. This was a different type of negotiation than the last one [in 2012, when Brees was under the franchise tag]. But I know there's been quite a bit of dialogue."

Hey Duckie, you got the brews lined up?? This is great news!!!

Aye! And even better news is it's linked up to a 4 year extension for Brees which is coming soon. So we're set for the next 5 years!

Hey where've you been lately? :o :smoke:

Hey Duckie! Yes, as you noticed, I've been off the radar as I've working my butt off lately at the office! I'm totally out of date in this board...pray tell Brees is ready to go being extended?

That's the buzz, they're working on a 4 year extension tied to Payton's deal so both stay together.

    How's the office??

Starting to calm down a bit, Thank God! I'm an Accountant for a insurance company so our Annual Statement is 95% done....just

some remaining schedules to do now...Whew!

Then what happens, you spend the rest of the year playing Angry Birds and surfing the web for good shopping deals?? :hail:

Nope Duckie, Don't let my job fool you, I've never played Angry Birds and never will! Seems really stupid!! And I hate online shopping too!!! I go to the mall and get my stuff instantly with no waiting!...Yes, I'm a rocker!! Seeing Black Sabbath in September! Waiting for Judas Priest to do more touring too! So it's no wonder I'm going bananas while "waiting" for a certain Rush band member to wake up and realize that there's more shows that could be done...

  12. I've been a Rush fan since 1980. Countless cassettes literally ripped to shreds with excessive playback and piles of worn out scratched CD's. Had to hide my posters as my mom HATED Rush! (Still does...nothing's changed there!) Missed the early years of touring due to finances/moving around frequently, but I have been to numerous shows since the CA & R40 tours. Imagine if this crazy Rat was at the early shows. Everyone would have looked on with great amusement. :haz: :haz: :rush: :haz: :haz:
  13. Don't know if they will beat the Panthers or not , but I go with the Pack to be in the Super Bowl this year regardless.

It's gonna be tough. The other teams will try to do what Denver did - play tight man coverage and rush Rodgers. Not every defense can do it as well, but if the Packer offense doesn't grab another gear, they won't be going to Santa Clara.

Just gotta wonder what the Pack was thinking?? Now they are moving targets and everyone will be hunting Rodgers (takes two seconds to see a weakness and take advantage)

  14. Rant On!! I'm sure that I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I'm not known for shutting up when incensed!! Since Neil has apparently packed it in, and not cared how the tour ended since only his demands/needs were met, how about thinking of a "new drummer" idea? Unless, someone can prove me wrong, I think his exit was tasteless and severely lacking! If this was indeed a "final" tour from him/Rush, than the collective fanbase had a right to know this upfront without having to hear of things coming out now. Okay, Rant Over!!

  15. For all those who haven't seen the show yet, wow,

get ready to be blown away! Tomorrow in SLC will

be my 5th show of 8 this tour and this 1980 fan is still

shaking her head with this over the top tour! Just when

I thought the last tour was great; this one is better!

  16. Well, this game was a real f*ckup!!! Hey Packers, the game lasts

FOUR quarters not three!!! Quitting on the job, eh?? Don't get me

started on Mr. F*ck you Bostick!!! Hey moron, WTF were you thinking??

Just disgusting how we gave the game away....heads better roll for this!!

Kinda glad I'm not "home" now, god knows what's gonna happen! My peeps

are surely madder than hell over this foldup!!

(Hopefully, NE will blow the Seagirls out real good!! That'd make me feel

    a little better...)

  17. If Tom Brady wins another RING I might jump off the Golden Gate Bridge.

    Are you kidding me?

As a Raider fan I will NEVER EVER forget the FUKK RULE, I mean the tuck rule. That fukking rule has been banned by the NFL.

    GO LUCK!!!!! COLTS BABY!!!

You're in for a very bad day.

No worries there, NE should roll over Indy without

    any problem...

  18. I love the Packers too. I actually bought two shares of Packer stock when they became public a few years ago.

I hope Aaron's calf is ok.

Sadly I think the Hawks will win. If the Pack upset I hope they win the whole fuckking thing. ANYBODY BUT TOM BRADY! JESUS CHRIST!

As long as Rodgers gets/got solid protection from his line, I believe he'll

make the plays as usual, if not and he gets sacked too often, we're in big

trouble!!!! Sitting ducks aren't pretty to witness! And like Lost, I'll burn in

Packer hell before I give up being a cheesehead even though I'm in Utah

    now!!

  19. Please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Presale dates for venues start like 1-2 days after the Announcement of the CA Tour?

Is this their way of deterring scalping or?

Not for later dates, it didn't.

Less than 10 hours notice for the second go-round! I just happened

to be online when the email came out around mdnight for presales at

10 am...very short notice!! I know some folks were extremely pissed

    about this!!
