Looks like there's another setlist revision
SchemingDemon replied to USB Connector's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I enjoyed WM when I saw them in Detroit, but the crowd's reaction when TSOR comes on is just so much better, and there's always a ton of crowd interaction as well. I'm sure the boys have picked up on this and that's probably why they decided to switch them out permanently. That being said, I definitely prefer TSOR -
I heard this for the first time when I was in Dick's looking for batting gloves the other day, but I only heard the ad over the speakers, I didn't see it. I stopped immediately and started looking around like a crazy person wondering why the hell I kept hearing Fly By Night

I met a girl at this bar the other night who apparently was a huge Rush fan. So I went to the jukebox and played the most 'obscure' Rush song I could find, which was Force 10, and as soon as the song started, her head popped up and she smiled and said "I love this song!!" I've inadvertently been meeting quite a few Rush fans lately

How many shows are you attending?
SchemingDemon replied to robertrobyn's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Two already, likely Cleveland on the 28th, and Vegas on November 23rd -
I got that feeling after my Columbus show. The excitement and anticipation wore off after I finally got to see them (twice!) after waiting since May. But, it's not too bad, since I'm seeing them one, likely two more times on this leg (who knows for the next NA leg!). After my final show of the tour, I know I'll be very sad, yet very happy at the same time. Though I joined the Rush fandom late in the game, I'm just very glad that I've been able to see them as much as possible while they're still going strong

Rush looks very out of place on that list. Yet Limelight is almost in first place

The tone and the attitude of some songs, like "The Anarchist," reminds me a little of "Fly By Night," the tune and the album. That's funny you say that because I've been saying that Clockwork Angels sounds like what would happen if Fly By Night and Grace Under Pressure f***ed. I love Fly By Night and it definitely feels like there's some influence from that record on this one.

Well it's said that a man reaches his sexual peak during his late 20s/early 30s

I'm going to get a copy of this book soon. I can't remember the last time I read a book

Review of the Columbus Show
SchemingDemon replied to The Mighty Dudad's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I'm glad I could actually hear the strings this time, in Detroit they were pushed way back in the mix. I really like the touch they added to all the songs, especially Manhattan Project -
My worst experience was during the Time Machine tour last year when I was stuck in front of the exact people you described the whole time: middle-aged, obnoxious guys who were wasted before the show even began. But, they weren't screaming for any songs, no, they were screaming F*CKKKKK YOUUUU all night! Right behind me! Took security half the show to tell them to STFU, yet they were very quick to yell at me for using my camera phone during the first song I had no bad experiences during my last two shows though. In Columbus, I was behind a row of four guys who knew all the songs as well as I did. We were all singing very loudly and we were even air drumming the same fills! Everyone on the floor in Detroit was real cool too. I try to be as polite as possible when at a show, which means I'll smoke a J and maybe have a single ridiculously overpriced beer. That way I'm not too crazy, but I'm still not quite all there in the head

QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Sep 22 2012, 08:27 AM) QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ Sep 21 2012, 02:10 PM) It was a good show, except I had 4 giants standing in front of me and someone spilled beer on me but the boys were top notch as usual. Anyone know what this sign said? http://i.imgur.com/H8qlo.jpg Looks like you were right by me. I was Floor 3 Row D. Damn, I wish I was in D! I was all the way back in T

Geddy is sounding just GREAT on this tour.
SchemingDemon replied to eshine's topic in On The Lighted Stage
At both shows I've been to so far, Geddy's prolonged wail during Headlong Flight makes the crowd EXPLODE! He's nailed it every time -
Let the fans decide a song in the setlist

QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 21 2012, 04:58 PM) No, because then Anonymous would flood the submissions with votes for Dog Years, Rivendell, Tai Shan, You Bet Your Life, Superconductor and Virtuality. I'd still love the show I'd be in the crowd pumping my fists "DOOOOOOGGGG YEARSSSSSS!" -
Review of the Columbus Show

QUOTE (blueowl @ Sep 21 2012, 04:51 PM) The place looked packed to me. I didn't see any empty seats in the main area of the arena. The concert was excellent, lots of energy, the Clockwork Angels stuff was particularly good. Yes the crowd went NUTS with Headlong Flight! Even those who hadn't heard it before (like a couple people around me) really, really enjoyed it. I couldn't stop myself from air drumming
