  1. Like this one! Drummer's arms...can't get enough of them! http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj612/Manders36/counterpartsNeil.jpg Or this oldie but goodie of Neil with a book. And that cute smile. http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj612/Manders36/Neilwithbook.jpg
  2. Man, this is a tough question. I really am slightly partial to Moving Pictures, but honestly I don't feel like I can pick just one...
  3. I must be the only one who thinks Mustache Neil actually looked good. I think the wandering poet look fit him perfectly. Nope, I like this look too. However, I'm most fond of Neil in the Presto/Roll the Bones time frame.
  4. Ending up scoring with Mr. Peart is not surprising for this introvert... :)
  5. Yeah, playing Rush on a jukebox wouldn't get rid of this woman! My uncle owns a bar in small-town-Wisconsin and he's a Rush fan and so he's got much more Rush music on the jukebox than a normal bar. He would never in a million years change the song from Rush if a patron asked. (He's asked me in the past to go play "good music" when some of his patrons have been playing too much country, for instance.) I still find the whole "Rush has mostly guy fans" thing funny since the three people that I first knew were Rush fans when I was growing up were my sister and two female cousins. :)
  6. I'm a '81 baby, so my birthday song will be Limelight.
  7. I really like this song as well. It puts me in a good mood whenever I listen to it.
  8. I hate Wal-mart (or I like to say Mall-Wart) with a passion and refuse to shop there. Being a Minnesotan, Best Buy is rather like a "local store" (as is Target) so I am more than happy to give them my business. And hell, Best Buy was cheaper than cruddy Wal-Mart anyway!
  9. I'm all for listening to Neil's voice for the book... As I once read in the comments of a YouTube video of one of Neil's interviews: "I could listen to him read the phone book..."
  10. Per Rush is a Band Blog Neil will be narrating the audiobook for the Clockwork Angels novel! I love listening to Neil's voice in his interviews, so a whole book narrated by him would be lovely. I may have to try the whole audiobook thing...
  11. QUOTE (Union 5-3992 @ May 19 2012, 07:58 PM)But realistically, I don't really care what they do as long as they enjoy themselves on stage. When they enjoy themselves, they play better. We win, they win, everybody goes home happy.
  12. I'm a small, thin person that generally gets shoved out of the way every time I've gone to a general admission concert. I just don't like be squished and pushed around. That and I have recently developed arthritis in both knees and ankles and it's impossible for me to stand that long without a little "sit break" now and then.
  13. QUOTE (Gilbertk @ May 17 2012, 06:51 AM)The last couple tours they had a "religion sucks" part of the set. (Faithless, BU2B, Freewill) and that's when I went to buy my tour shirt and use the mens room. I loved the so-called "religion sucks" part. I thought it was great to hear all those songs together. I plan on looking at the set list, but not watching the YouTube stuff before the concert. I want to make sure I get my dad to listen to the songs he may not know before so he will enjoy the concert more. (He's not a big fan like I am...)
  14. I picked Neil because I am also an introvert and I enjoy his lyrics a lot. He also inspired me to want to play the drums. (Unfortunately my sister ruined that for me by telling me I couldn't play drums because I didn't play piano and my mom was too cheap so I got stuck with a hand me down flute instead...)
  15. I'm listening to the Planet Rock interview with Geddy Lee, and he did say their will be a spring 2013 leg of the tour. n When asked if they were coming to the UK, he said he probably shouldn't be announcing it yet, but yes they will be.
  16. http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj612/Manders36/Rushfixingjackets.jpg I like this photo of The Boys because they are all fixing their jackets at the same time.
  17. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 8 2012, 01:27 PM)While I can probably say I have no use for hearing any of these live anymore, I hope they don't retire any of them. Part of my enjoyment of a show is feeding off the energy of the crowd and there is no denying the whole crowd erupts when any of these are played, and it makes it much more fun, rather than the obscures that only a handful in the audience know and many are sitting down for. As far as what I think they may retire, I'd say Red Barchetta, Freewill, YYZ, Working Man. They're probably sick of the Moving Pictures stuff so dont be surprised if they only play Tom Sawyer and Limelight I feel the same way.
  18. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Mar 27 2011, 12:10 PM) Same question, but regarding the pervasive substitution of "heartbreak" for "high-grade" in "Marathon". What on Earth is a "heartbreak climb uphill" supposed to be? "Heartbreak climb uphill" is a reference to the Boston Marathon. It's the final hill of the 26.2 mile course that comes at about 20.5 miles. If you're not a runner, you may not be familiar with "the wall" that is often hit around the 20 mile mark. At any rate, as I have run 2 marathons in the past, let me just say you're pretty damn tired after running 20 miles, and even this not-so-big hill in a race can make you go crazy.
  19. Since this thread doesn't seem to get as much love as Geddy and Alex's... I was just wondering if any of you ladies have the photography book "Rhythm & Light" by Neil's wife? A book of nothing but pictures of Neil and his drums sounds kind of neat.
  20. I was one of those kids that surreptitiously opened and re-taped up my Xmas presents, so no, there is no way I will be able to control myself enough to NOT look at the set list beforehand.
  21. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 19 2012, 08:45 PM)Definitely. There is no doubt about it. I know some people may find them corny or whatnot, but I honestly LOVE all of the various videos and jokes that the boys have during their concerts. IMO, it all adds to the atmosphere of their shows. It's real cool and special just how much the guys love to entertain their fans. We're lucky. I completely agree. And even if they are "corny", they crack me up. Those guys have such a great sense of humor.
  22. Target Center's website shows the Rush concert on their calendar today. I think that's a good confirmation!
  23. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Apr 16 2012, 03:31 AM)QUOTE (Spike @ Apr 12 2012, 08:52 PM) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/mamidmmk/Rush_Misc/Neil/NeilPeart2012RevolverGoldenGodsAward1jpg.jpg Oh, my! Looking good, Bubba! Hi all, I'm new to the Forum. I've been enjoying ogling all the lovely pictures of the Professor. I watched the Golden Gods show JUST to see Rush get the award. I was of course expecting to see Lerxst accept it, so imagine my delight when Neil appeared instead! Glad to see the official tour dates up today so I can start dreaming about seeing again this year.
