  1. Loving the uploads from the 1st gig as well as Rush I love a lot of electronic music, Aphex Twin, DJ Shadow, Burial etc and by the sounds of Neils electronic drum solo so does he This band just get cooler as they age I remember whilst doing my sound engineering course at Uni a few years back there was a couple of guys that would do some amazing stuff with Rush samples for fun that sounded fookin awesome, Im surprised Rush haven't been sampled more, especially Neil.. I love the fact the guys are influenced by and listen to loads of styles outside rock....To me it's a big reason for their longevity and uniqueness...Rush have always been more than just a standard rock/metal band..To me anyway...Fkn love this band I think Ill need to make sure I have tissues ready for Middletown Dreams getting uploaded , really thought Id never see that played live
  2. QUOTE (tas7 @ Jun 9 2012, 01:24 AM) The charts are rigged, who the hell keeps buying Journey's greatest hits?If it charts at no 5 or above it will be amazing but then it will probably drop like a stone. Its amazing what a bit of product placement on Glee club can do for your career..I think that's the only reason that Journey are charting again, could be wrong though! To quote the great Bill Hicks.."I think someone from Journey has been Sucking Satans c*ck" I'd be mortified if Rush ever ended up on that car crash of a show
  3. Best since Power Windows The title track, The Anarchist, The Wreckers and The Garden are up there with the best Rush has done... the other tracks are none to shabby either.... but god damn those four tracks are special.....On a side note there is a section in The Anarchist that reminds me of The Cult, mibee on their track Rain, I cant remember for sure , It just has a bit of that 'f**k you all' swagger to it...as we say back home in Scotland "This is pure dead brilliant man!!"
  4. Yep this is full on Country and Western territory which also happens to be the only style of music I can't get into , every time I go to a local gig it normally involves a banjo and a selection of Cowboy ballads lol I'v put it down to bad luck so Im leaving the gig watching for a while I tend to get most stuff from Amazon UK sent to the in-laws who then forwards it first class, I find this to be the quickest way to get stuff here
  5. Never hated a Rush album as such but for least played its probably Snakes and Arrows for some reason the track Workin Them Angels never sat well with me ...The melody on that track just does not sit well with these ears at all .............although on the plus side the rest of the album sounded not to bad when I listened to it recently after a long hiatus.. Far Cry rocks
  6. I'm in Bargara QLD and it seems to be mainly C&W bollocks no sign of another Rush fan let alone Rock fan around here... I'd imagine Brisbane down the road might have a few fans as it has a thriving Alternative/Prog scene (well a few decent bands), anyway nice to hear from fellow ex pats/Aussies representing from all corners of the country and keeping the Rush flame burning..I've got the fan pack arriving from the UK so should get it around 2013 sometime
  7. Add me to the love it list, I wasn't a big fan of Snakes and Arrows tbh this grabbed me from the off, there is a vocal melody in HF that is similar to an old Marillion track 'Fugazi' a lot of people have dissed the vocal melody yet this jumped out at me right away probably as I have had that same little melody from the track Fugazi locked away somewhere in my subconscious...oh and that wah wah break
  8. Much prefer this to anything on Snakes and Arrows, I just love how Rush soak up the influences of relevant bands of the time..this time round I'm hearing the Foos, a little Tool and a big fat helping of Rush circa 76 courtesy of the wah wah tastic lead break from Lerxt..Two thumbs fresh from me
  9. One of my best mates lived in Launceston Tasmania he absolutely loved it there.Nice to know there is some fellow Rush fans close by I only left for Oz last year....last band I seen in UK before I left at Sheffield Arena on the Time Machine tour
  10. I'm in Australia and I know who Rush are I think you will find there are plenty Rush fans in Oz.At the minute there is a very healthy prog/alternative scene here, bands like Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo just to name a few...........I must admit though... I am originally from the Rushified territory of Scotland
