Posted by someone over at RIAB who was on the side of the stage in Austin last night. I had a working pass for the show and was able to watch half the set from the side of thr stage. I was able to see a bunch of various set lists and lighting cue spreads on a few screens and some printed out near the soundboard. It had one showing the month of June on it and Big Money was there but Clockwork Angels the song wasn't and Kid Gloves was A/B with Distant Early Warning and Between The Wheels and Losing It was slotted with no Big Money. Second set had La Villa Strangiato alternating with Natural Science and Camera Eye. YYZ and Barchetta had a C and D * next to them. Everything else was the same from The Wreckers to How It Is remaining rotated. Im not buying it yet but Ill be in columbus for the first show of June so kinda adds more anticipation.

Also it was the first outdoor show of the tour...wonder if the tech guys struggled a bit with that or if its really any different at all im not to sure about that kind of stuff.

T4E, half the world, driven, resist (acoustic) wouldve been fine with me but im not really upset there not playing anything from it. I do wish HYF was represented somehow though..mission or prime mover wouldve been nice

Some of these songs are extremely difficult even for him and the arthritis definitely doesnt help..another thing a guy over on RIAB said he had some type of pass and saw the 2nd half of the show from on the side of the stage..he said that he was able to see something that indicates a different setlist in june that has la villa replacing camera eye and/or natty sci and has yyz/barchetta with a C and D next to them and also kid gloves alternating with BTW and DEW. Also one variation where GUP was dropped and losing it was added...I dont buy it just yet but the show ill be in attendance for is the first one in June so Im pumped

Okay yeah we all knew ged's voice is gonna struggle. With his age and what he did early in his career there is definitely gonna be limitations. However with that said..this is my opinion only..i believe the guys have never played their instruments better..i know some dont like CA but man the way they played on that album and tour was just amazing.

They shouldve been doing this I dont understand why they wouldn't but they are doing it in Toronto for those 2 nights.

Ill take any mix of anything just keep jacobs xanadu cygnus and prelude please..i was hoping theyd mix up the encore a little but hey I'll take it

Ive read a few comments on RIAB about how there were a few upset people bringing their kids and not hearing limelight, freewill etc.. and i can understand that i guess..me being only 19 ive seen Rush once on r30 and twice every tour since then. So ive been around the block with the limelights freewills yyz's and all of those so the 2nd set to me is absolutely awesome! However i can see some parents who are more casual fans being upset there kid didnt get to hear those songs...everyone's opinion is different though, I just cant wait to be in Columbus June 8th!!

Just dont take out xanadu or jacobs..please for the love of all that is holy

I thought clockwork angels as an opener would be bad just because the beginning isnt that "get out of your seat" song but after hearing it in that spot on the videos and stream im in love with it..its epic

1 hour and 30 minutes...the anticipation...

Just dropped 440$ for 2 floor seats row t on alexs side in columbus..im going no matter what the rest of the set is now...

The garden will definitely be played but i cant see it as a set closer.. 1st set closer= dreamline or show downt tell 2nd set= spirit of radio Encore= headlong flight

Wayyyyyy too much Clockwork Angles in this set son. 4 songs?? Enough already!!! Saw enough of that train wreck last tour. Not Happening. Really? If you look at their touring history. The previously released album is always represented strongly during its release and the following concert. Whether you want it or not. Clockwork Angels will be strongly represented during this tour and its far from a train wreck. You may be correct. But on Time Machine they did not bombard us with 'Snakes and Arrows' Only played 2- Far Cry and Workin' Them Angels. I believe they will spread out the music over dozens of albums on R40 as well. So you get 2 from CA. Maybe And CA is a snoozefest...ask around You're right about everything but CA, which is the most exciting album the band released since MP. It's a sonic mess, but not a snooze fest. Agree, was very excited about the upcoming release of CA, with the hype, but it was missing something song in song out. Great lyrics, but not as creative and unique as it could have been. Very produced. Well I still love it! there 60+ years old, appreciate that they give enough of a damn to release such an epic piece at such an old age. Playing wise there better than ever. Obviously the vocals lack. And honestly you could even add a 5th song from CA in there. Id bet a lot of money they play the garden.

The bigger question is do I look at the setlist to see the REAL opening song on opening night or not..ive seen rush on 4 tours now, usually multiple times a tour since r30. but ive known the set each time. Wondering how the experience would differ without knowing

I really would put money down on sit down acoustic session after neils solo..prolly resist than its up for debate..was second nature the one they rehearsed for r30 but then scrapped?
