  1. Really like how things have turned. The moving ahead a year was cool. Really like the show.
  2. No, no Welsh ancestry that I know of, but one never knows do they here in the Great Melting Pot. That is some name though. Makes you wonder how the name came about, why they named it that, and who though that would be a good name, doesn't it? Aside from that, I'd like to say thanks to all for the nice wishes and I'd like to say Happy Birthday to few other TRF'rs who share the same birthday as me. Happy Birthday to DiscipleofLerxst, Prince Sphinc-Tor, SomeHalfForgottenStranger, and InvisibleToTelescopic eye. Thanks again.
  3. Got that right...there's a few things I'd like answers to...like how did Billy Bob get out of the basement?
  4. But it takes place in Minnesota and we all know that's how people from Minnesota really talk.
  5. I wish they would show it more closely...I don't know why 'cuz Mara's barforino cyst story almost made me gag...but I want to see it. I wonder if the pellet is still in there. He should just dig around and squeeze all that shit out and soak in peroxide or something...I'm thinking that hand is gonna deal Lester some bad karma.
  6. Watched the first three episodes. really like it. Love the quirkiness and characters. Billy Bob is really good and so is the geek who plays Bilbo Baggins (whateverhisnameis). Like it.
  7. Not 2112 but they did show up while I was playing T4E. They told me to turn that crap off....I happily complied.
  8. I don't see any Ripple....that place sucks.
  9. It must have been terribly bad...horrible almost....or...possibly....the whole thing...might...just...be...a...joke.
  10. I was there in the second row and he kept repeating: o-qua tangin wann qua omsa lagee wann.
  11. I was there in the second row and it was a guy a couple seats over who yelled to Lerxst to shake it off. We were all amazed at what happened and we all agreed that he should just shake it off and continue on with the show which is exactly what he did after somebody from the front row hit him in the face with a bowling ball.
  12. 3 episodes in and it's not too bad. Like how they incorporate actual events into the story. I'm gonna stick with it. Might be really good.
  13. I remember when this movie was released. It had a HUGE budget at the time and there were really high hopes for its success. There was a video game and toy line and talks of a series or something like that. Man, that movie sucked.
  14. I agree. Were fans, we're allowed to like stuff, and hate stuff and thanks goodness there are places like this that allow us to discuss our loves and hates.
  15. If you read the whole series you realize that these characters are complex, and not as one-dimensional as they might seem after just reading the first book. As The Owl mentioned in the comment above yours, Jaime's real character only comes out once he's travelling with Brienne. I get they are complex and after 6 or 7 books better they had better be complex. As for reading any more of the books, I'll stick to the TV show.
  16. If Jaime Lannister truly has changed in character, then you would not be punishing the Jaime Lannister who pushed that little boy out of the tower. That Jaime Lannister no longer exists. You would instead be "punishing" a being who would not do such a thing. If Jaime Lannister truly has changed in character, then you would not be punishing the Jaime Lannister who pushed that little boy out of the tower. That Jaime Lannister no longer exists. You would instead be "punishing" a being who would not do such a thing. Well after last episode, I've lost a bit of my sympathy for him That scene was inappropriate and un called for.. It was not rape in the book, entirely consensual.. Still messed up having incest sex next to the corpse of your dead incest son, but Jaime did not rape Cersei in ASOS.... I don't know why that decision was made. maybe because fans of the show were warming up to him? hypothetical questions following: Granted, it seemed downright malicious and evil of Jaime to rape Circe (or however they spell her name in this series, gah) right by the dead body of her child. Granted, that child was a monster, and Circe is not much better . . . How many of you would have thought it would be justified in a way if instead of raping her Jaime had pulled out his sword and run her through with it, slaying her on the spot right by Joffrey's corpse, while saying "you are so hateful, why was I cursed to be in love with such a hateful bitch, you deserve to die, evil bitch!" Would he have been justified in doing that? Would you think it would have been cool of him to do that? The show has not been kind at all to Jaime's character development.... The books are written from the perspective of several different characters, each chapter you are getting part of the story from a different character's point of view, experience what that character is feeling, and get their inner monologue... In book 3 Jaime becomes a POV character... And you discover that beneath the sister-banging, cocky asshole you have been seeing from other character's perspective is a person who does care what others think of him... who hates being called "Kingslayer" (rightly so, because people mis-understand his true motivations about breaking his oaths). And is a person who is trying to atone for his past wrongs, and is falling out of his enamor with his sister... The show has barely any of this hinted with Jaime's character.... There have been two moments in this series that have been so far out of line with Jaime's character it is infuriating... the moment in this past episode, and the moment in season 2 where he murdered his cousin in an escape attempt.. JAIME WOULD NOT DO THAT!!! Kinslaying in this world is looked at as bad as kingslaying, or killing guests who have shared food under your roof.. Jaime who is trying to clean his sullied name would not have even thought of it.. Writers of the show, QUIT f***ing UP THIS CHARACTER!!!! I read the first book only and one of the things that turned me off to the them was that just about every character is a scumbag and with the exception of the Starks, there was nobody to root for....OK...Things have changed since the first book but we are still dealing with many of these same scumbag characters. Like them or not, now...they are still the same scumbags they have always been. You shouldn't be surprised by anything these pieces of crap do.
  17. What you need is a good old-fashioned Red Rider BB Gun!! http://bestairrifle.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Daisy-Red-Ryder-BB-Gun1.jpg You'll put an eye out with that! But yeah, I've thought about it. Try what I have done for years. I have a portable "air cleaner" that sits in the corner that I turn on at bedtime to drown out all outdoor and most indoor noises. I could care less if it cleans the air but the consistent noise of the fan is wonderful. It has low/med/high. Medium typically works great. I am pretty sure I would have a tough time sleeping without it at this point.... :) I have the exact same thing...I really can't sleep without it.
  18. Because the leaves just stopped falling off the trees and, as usual, it's Easter...so it's time to break out the rakes and start bagging those bastards...What fun.
