Just the slightest potential of Al and Ged getting together with another drummer and even a singer and coming back with their own brand of actual metal excites me

 

As for actual rush metal im one who never saw them or their material anywhere near that category

Just listened to the original mix and remix again. "Ceiling Unlimited" sounds a lot more alive here than the remix.

 

Removing that little lick Al does after 'If laughter is a straw for a drowning man' was criminal for me, which is a shame as the added solo bits actually improved, as the added solo in OLV did. Removing stuff the band wanted in should never have been allowed - additions the band played with ok as just something new

Was also a sea change era in their development transitioning from old to nu rush so much going on tonnes of material coming out the ether + playing it on tour no chance for anything else

 

When things had kinda settled after the transition you start to get the videos back

Can imagine was a very busy time for them writing stuff were churning albums out, when you in the groove slide hard and fast, no time for paraphernalia like videos and if they did have time they'd just write more stuff in all probability

Apart from One Little Victory and ged's more pronounced bass in ghostrider and secret touch, the remixed album's a disaster for me

 

Original album's superb, i actually dont care about the sound issues is all about feel and structure for me i'll never forget those first couple months engrossed in that album after release was like this great band at their most imperious and mature best and long too

 

The remixed version with all its changes the band didnt choose and in particular a completely unforgivable and obviously unintentional static crackling in various parts of peaceable kingdom, is a godawful monstrosity i nearly asked for my money back

Love fly by night but never seem to play it for some reason so that can go if has to, similarly the debut album hardly gets a play although not a bad track on it and Here Again one of my favs but that'll have to go too i suppose. After that i can only pick two halves, one half of clockwork angels can go for sure and possibly one half of snakes and arrows at a push, in fact is more like a quarter so im a quarter short and dunno where i'm going to find it. In fact yeah, all i can manage is 2 3/4 so sod it.

Moving Pictures Vapor Trails Signals

 

The 3rd choice could change depending on mood, i really wanna stick Counterparts in or even Test For Echo

 

Permanent Waves is obviously note perfect the quintessential fully developed Rush album but can play it in my head note perfect anyway so no need for actual album

I love his sound on counterparts but wouldnt single out they all too good, permanent waves moving pictures even vaportrails power windows all got look in

 

Thinking about it again though, counterparts made me so happy for such a long time i might lean toward, such a good-feeling album

If not a line from Rush:

Remastered Ceiling unlimited is a disaster, some awful static in background at various points i nearly asked for my money back
