  1. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 9 2012, 11:16 AM) QUOTE (myturn2drive @ May 9 2012, 09:03 AM) I got into Rush when Presto came out. I was 15. I loved "Show Don't Tell"...went out and bought the record...then a guy down the street let me borrow 2112 and Hemispheres on CD and I dubbed them to cassette. My uncle let me borrow Rush, Fly By Night and Carress of Steel on VINYL...and I dubbed them...then about a month after that my ex-Girlfriend invited me to a party (parents out of town). She had Moving Pictures on cassette. While everyone else was drinking and "partying" i was sitting in front of the tape play, headphones on listening to it over and over again...then I borrowed it and never saw her again OMG PIRACY!!! lol I know right! I hope the FBI isn't monitoring this forum

  5. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 18 2012, 08:50 PM) QUOTE (vital signz @ Apr 18 2012, 08:46 PM) Rolling Stone has always been unkind to Rush and fans, but lately they have done more pieces on the band and it hit me that maybe they are doing this today as a peace offering and an attempt to be cool to Rush and fans. What to you all think? I think I wouldnt even wipe my ass with Rolling Stone. Despite them coming around after nearly 40 f-cking years, they are likely only doing so because of the bands renewed popularity, staying power, and undeniable legitimacy as artists. F-ck them. They can stick their olive branch straight up their ass. Yes, but how do you really feel?
  6. QUOTE (treeduck @ Apr 18 2012, 01:52 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 18 2012, 12:43 PM) Terrible time to be stuck on a conference call!!! Still haven't heard it... The song is very with quite a bit of and huge amount of Hell yeah!!!! I am so glad that I am not dissapointed! Onmy fourth listen. I disagree with those that say ther is no melody. THe chorus(if you wanna call it that-"stoke the fires of the big steel wheels..etc") is a perfect change for the song
  7. I don't even have to worry about my companies firewall...I just addedd Planet Rock as a favorite on my Wunder Radio app on my iPhone...I will be there definately
  8. QUOTE (Jaminbenb @ Apr 12 2012, 11:56 AM) QUOTE (canadianice @ Apr 11 2012, 07:12 PM) How the hell can you judge anything by a 30 second clip That..... You know what you can judge from a thirty second clip? ...a thirty second clip. I loved it
  9. QUOTE (Gompers @ Apr 9 2012, 09:26 AM) QUOTE (druid13 @ Apr 8 2012, 09:09 PM) I have not heard Headlong Flight yet but I can confirm it sounds much like a fine blend of Bytor, Cygnus X-1, Rivendell, Freewill and Speed of Love..... Having not heard it, you are just making a random guess? I don't think I will be putting my money on your assertion. Not 100% sure, but I think that post is not 100% serious
  10. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 4 2012, 11:18 AM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 4 2012, 06:22 AM) Thus far, they are doing a damn good job of keep everything under lock and key. I don't want to face the killer instinct - Face it in you or me. Rooadrunner knows they carry a sensitive cargo, and the more they hype it, they keep fans like us ticking like time-bombs
  11. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 1 2012, 10:02 PM) http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/worst-album-covers Hilarious. What is hilarious is that the Scorpions have TWO on that list

BTW Tree..not to hijack...but who is that blonde in your sig...i have seen her before, but just can place where?? She's actually a he, it's Tony R in his girlie drag attire. He's pretty good for a 63 year old teddy boy geezer isn't he? I guess I should be nicer to him/her then

  14. QUOTE (Funky Chicken @ Mar 30 2012, 10:59 AM) Don't really know how I will feel about it. It could blow me away. It could suck hard. It probably will fall somewhere between those two extremes. I was in line to buy Moving Pictures on release day. I have bought every other studio release on release day. I was at 6/28/2002 in Hartford, the show that almost never was. I've been to almost 50 others. I shook Geddy's hand at the MFH album signing in Edison, NJ in the fall of 2000 thinking that Rush was DONE. Turns out they are not done. I was 15 when MP came out. I'll be 47 when CA comes out. I'll be standing at Best Buy trying to find the damned thing on release day when they probably won't even have unpacked it because 99.999999% of humans don't give a shit. I give a shit. We are getting new Rush. Be happy about it. Consider the alternative. Since the horrible events of 1997/1998, I consider any new Rush album and Tour to be gravy on the potatoes or the bacon
  15. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Mar 29 2012, 02:22 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Mar 29 2012, 01:13 PM) What you've got to remember is there's no keyboard player in RUSH, just a couple of dabblers, one of which doesn't even like keyboards... i'll bet they didn't plan on using keyboards and than nick the producer fanboi jumped in and said give me some keyboards. geddy and alex: i hear and obey. Please explain something to me. What about Rush, as they exist today, do you actually like? So far from reading your posts you think they write crappy music, hate their fans, and now you think they are spinelessly subserviant to their producer..
  16. ...and you're shocked that false information was given out on the internet
  17. The point of the journey is not to arive.

Ah, chill out - people are losing their mind waiting and trying to let off some steam. That said, I did get fooled myself and was hoping for a linky!
