  1. 3 games above .500??? Brutalized by 11 runs twice this week (Mariners and White Sox)...oh how far will the Blue Jays continue to fall...

    :sigh:

And that was a *brutal* collision, LABT. I just couldn't like the post. I hope he recovers.

  2. I'd like to apologise to Rushgoober if he found anything in this thread offensive.

Tombstone Mountain gave me some Kool-Aid to drink, and the next thing I knew. . .

    ;)

I would like to join you in the apology, if I may, SWS.

I regret my participation in a thread that lead to the departure of a regular. My intent was just to be silly, and I sincerely apologize to Goob for my actions. I did not intend to hurt him or make him feel uncomfortable. I'm sorry Goober.

And many thanks to the OP for making this thread. This has been weighing on me for many months and I've been unsure about how to broach the subject. Thank you for providing an outlet.

  3. Like it or not the death of Williams has really made a splash in the collective pool of human awareness. It seems like his death has been popping up everywhere no matter who you meet or talk to or what websites you visit.

 and it places more light on the disease that is depression. I've spoken to many people this week who's lives have been touched by depression, addiction, and suicide.

Robin touched a lot of lives (my own included) :) But, so has depression :(

I'm hearing now that his wife said Robin was showing signs of the early stages of Parkinsons syndrome.

Yes, I heard that too. That's very sad.

  5. :(

I was very sad to hear this yesterday. She was a remarkable woman and a huge influence in my life. Her strength of character, her beauty and that gorgeous voice. A true star in every sense of the word.

If you haven't seen her movies, you must. She was brilliant in her debut, To Have and Have Not.

Rest in peace, Ms. Bacall. :rose:

  6. Open up the Solar Federalist thread again...?

Yes. The fun part will be going back and listing all the people who have made 2112 since the last badge, and what day each of you got there.

If anyone can do it, you can! Lol

I have no special powers to determine when a person made their 2112th post. I have to take their current post count, display all their posts, and count backwards. Yep. But that's what I get for not staying on top of this.

Do you have raw data available or only the admin screens? With raw data, a program could be written (relatively quickly in the right language) to search the data. But if you only have admin screens...well, point and click is a very long road.

  7. It's good to see that CP survived last year's crash - a brutal one. I was just browsing around over there (it looked the same on the mobile skin as TRF). I thought it was interesting to read other perspectives.

TRF is my only active forum - no Facebook, no Twitter. I'm debating joining a gaming forum so I can talk about the game that I play in excruciating detail, but I haven't made that commitment yet.

  8. Jays and Tigers are in the 19th inning locked at 5 -5. Game is 6 1/2 hours old so far... and not yet decided

Jays win in bottom of 19th... epic game. Onto Seattle, to face and hopefully beat King Felix.

I read it was the longest game in Toronto's history. Quite a bout and I'm glad they could take two from the Tigers. :ebert: Let's keep it going, Blue Jays! :cheerleader:

  9. But, returning to the “Multifaceted” thing, if there's anyone whose a better balancing act of shredding, melody, soul, phrasing, and just sheer "balls out" guitar playing than Alex "Lerxt" Lifeson, they must live on another planet!!

    Ritchie Blackmore.

Shredding - The guy practically invented "Neo classical" whilst Malmsteen was in diapers.

Melody - Rainbow live '77. Intro to 16th Century Greensleeves. Plus Child in Time.

Soul - Sold his to the devil.

Phrasing - California Jam "Mistreated" Live guitar intro.

Balls out guitar - He was quite the ladies man according to the biography "Black Night" lol.

(Just my opinion by the way).

 I agree. Ritchie Blackmore :notworthy:

    An excellent opinion.

  10. Jays are having a terrible stretch and my hopes are fading. I was at the game this past Tuesday as the Orioles beat the Jays 9 - 3. It was a disappointing feeling. :sigh: :(

:hug2: Yes, that was a bad series. The wild card is slipping away.

Still, they've out performed my expectations this year (if they win a dozen more games...which I think they will).

    :sigh:

  11. Is it me or is this all starting to sound like bullying.

Sorry but this is not really the kindest thread I have seen.

I actually had no idea about the thread referenced in Mr.Isnot's video prior to watching it. I thought the video and this thread was all for laughs...and I still think his video was funny. I just went back and found the thread and was skimming through it...boy I got to the end of the first page and I thought it got really heated too fast and reading onward, I began to feel bad.

I took this as playful, not mean. But I could be reading it wrong.

He's probably taking it as the whole forum is against him! This is hurting him.

Well in all honesty thats how it came across to me, especially with that ridiculous video (which I am sorry to say initially made me laff). Its only truly funny when the one at the center of the banter is in on the joke.

I fail to see the issue. Mr.IsNot took his post and put it in a text to speech converter. He didn't modify the content, he didn't give him a silly voice and he made it so you could listen to Zumbi per the question.
