  1. Interesting. It makes me want to sing Men At Work. Traveling in a fried out comby On a heavy trail, head full of zombies I met a strange lady, she me nervous She took me in and gave me breakfast
  2. The fear is certainly falling...and the sudden stop. I'm fine in a plane or on a rollercoaster, but standing and looking at anything above 3 feet scares the crap out of me. Outdoor Christmas lights is always a challenge. Never look down.
  3. And the smaller, the more dangerous. I almost stepped bare foot onto a small one on a living room floor one evening, also in Arizona. A pretty dangerous place, in hindsight. To New England! Where fewer creatures want to poison me!
  4. That could never be me. Eeeek! Nerves far stronger than mine.
  5. Big tobacco starting off attacking the e-cigs and still try and make laws against them as they get into the market fully. That should be enough of a reason to support ecigs. A good point. Do you believe that big tobacco has a hand in e-cig? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity. I don't know the answer. I would think that RJR or PM would at least be testing the waters and thinking about how to make money in a new market segment (that market being people who like to inhale things). To your point, lawsuits against independent e-cig manufacturers slow them down while the giants come up to speed. Just my skeptical nature, I suppose...
  6. Happy Anni, Lyndsey! :) :yay:
  7. I found the NJoy did die very quickly, but I thought the flavour was the best of the e-cigs I've tried. They're pretty pricey too, especially for such a short lived product. I've found White Cloud to be quite good. Good flavour, they last a while and they're about half the price of NJoy. I do think I get more nicotine with the e-cig than with traditional. I think that part of that is because I can just sit around and puff on it when I'm doing any number of things that I used to do while smoking (when I smoked inside) instead of having to slog myself out to the land of pariahs (also known as the smoking section). I'm still on the fence about moving to e-cig full time. Technically it's "vaping", so e-cig by definition isn't smoking, but it feels like smoking and to my mind the difference in definition is splitting hairs. I try not to "vape" in all of the the same places I wouldn't smoke (not at my desk at work, not in front of the TV, not in the car, not in restaurants, etc.) And, of course, I'm still curious about the long term effects of glycerin being inhaled. Probably not worse than tobacco smoke, but at least smoke is known bad, if that makes any sense. Glycerin is inert and used in many daily products (food, makeup, for example). Is it also safe to inhale in vapor form? I've read studies and lots of literature on the subject, but don't know what to believe. If big tobacco has a hand in it, I'm naturally even more skeptical.

  14. I wish you hadn't said that. I'm in a lot of trouble. The only thing I can hope for is that I go before my mind completely does. I didn't mean to touch a sensitive button. I was just being a goofball. Sorry... :(
  15. Cygnus Gal, I love those lyrics from The Pass too. One day I got some type of publication in the mail. As I was leafing through, I came across this: Oscar Wilde said, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are gazing at the stars." I couldn't help but wonder if Neil, since he is such a prolific reader, "borrowed" this thought from Oscar Wilde when he was writing The Pass. Neil made me read more than I had and certainly more diverse authors than I had previously. Quixote Cervantes and Coleridge and Wilde. Opening my mind was a profound experience. I've always loved the way I felt compelled to learn more. And, I really like how he works in the literary references. :ebert: :) Cervantes, not Quixote. They say the mind is the first thing to go... :codger: Something For Nothing also had a huge impact on my impressionable (and extremely egocentric) teenage mind. :musicnote: In your head is the answer, let it guide you along, let your heart be the anchor and the beat of your song :musicnote: Many years later, I have learned that my head doesn't have all of the answers. I have fewer answers today, but more clarity (if that makes any sense).

  17. The Pass ... All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars. That lyric got me through a very tough time in my life. Moving Pictures (all of it) - I fell in love with Rush and bought my first bass. :)
  18. We had these in the garage when I lived in Arizona. Their webs are very dense and don't look like the typical spider web - just a dense mass of silk. I don't handle spiders well... Eeek!
  19. That is wonderful advice and so true. Thanks, that makes me smile. :)
  20. Just so you know..the album have been remixed, not remaster, its a huge different. Quite right. My mistake. Corrected. Thanks. :)
  21. One of my favourite Rush albums. I still prefer the original and it is top 5 album for me but I think the remix is great since it opens up the album for others. IMO, it is the most emotionally transparent effort of their career. It has some sonic difficulties but, to me, that adds to the honesty of the work. The band had just been through an extreme trauma and it is reflected in this album. Happy Birthday, VT! :yay:
  22. Duff! Happy Anni, my friend! A welcome (and rather strange) part of the mosaic that is TRF. Listen to some Rush, eat a morel, spend some great time with the kids. :D  :cheerleader: :) :givebeer: :hi: :dweez: :codger: :D-13: http://www.thescifiworld.net/img/smilies/galactica/cylon/cylon-pancarte06.gif
  23. Happy Anni to the Dread Pirate Robert! :madra:  :cheerleader: :)
