  1. Judas Priest - Redeemer of Souls Judas Priest - Turbo Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East
  2. Half a century has come and gone and Judas Priest is still badass
  3. They still vastly pale in comparison to be Season 8 but the writers have been trying to write more experimental and emotional episodes lately. Stuff that only really works this late in the game. The Treehouse of Horror from season 34 was good because they did an Anime parody (with the original anime animators) and a Westworld parody that made reference to popular classic Simpsons jokes and memes.
  4. Oddly the last year or two of Zombie Simpsons has some pretty good ones. They're still BTFO by the golden era
  5. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death Bruce Dickinson - The Mandrake Project Paradise Lost - Draconian Times Paradise Lost - Medusa Primus - The Desaturating Seven Devin Townsend - Lightwork Amigo the Devil - Yours Until The War Is Over Foo Fighters - But Here We Are
  6. I'd argue Addicted! or Epicloud. Lightwork is a bit more somber but has a chill vacation vibe in places.
  7. Ever listen to peak happy pop Devin Townsend?
  8. Seeing Primus in '21 really woke me up to Les Claypool. I liked some of his stuff before but now that I've poured over his discography, the man really has a great catalog. Oddly some of his biggest misfires are with his main band, Primus.
  9. I've added a bit of a twist to my "new album every day" thing I did last year. One of the major problems I ran into last year was a lack of time to truly digest a record. The real stand-outs were ones I liked immediately. I swapped to "one album a week, but I have to listen to it 7 times". Albums I otherwise would have written off after a single listen are now growing on me. I'll even stick to it through bad albums to really make sure I hate them. I'm hoping to make it to near 100 albums still. I've been listening to a lot despite the 7X rule.
  10. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls Bruce Dickinson - The Mandrake Project KK's Priest - Sermons of the Sinner (This wasn't as bad as I expected based on the original thread) Paradise Lost - The Plague Within Paradise Lost - Medusa (A really solid follow-up) Burning Witches - The Dark Tower Blue Öyster Cult - Mirrors (Never heard this one, I liked it)
  11. My dad caught that tour in Syracuse. Then I got to see them 35+ years later on their 17th post-retirement tour
  12. That's a good price for both of them. I think I had to pay $90 to see Primus at Massey Hall and there was no Mastodon opening.
  13. 3:13: KK's Priest/L.A. Guns/Burning Witches - Buffalo Riverworks, Buffalo, NY
  14. I've seen several of Devin Townsend's band mates in other bands, but never with Devin.
  15. I've seen all the members of The Aristocrats live, but never all at the same time.
  16. If I see KK, then I've seen the whole Painkiller lineup live.
  17. Now would I have fun paying $50 to see KK's Priest? They're take on the Judas songs are cool. But their originals are okay/10
  18. I have a lot of fun at the $20 gigs for smaller bands
  19. I'd love to see him interview Geddy. His music interviews are still great. I haven't listened to his daily show otherwise though. I remember Richard Christie was one of my favorite parts when I listened in college 10 years ago
  20. Awesome thread idea. I hope some others post guides to their favorite bands as well. I'm a fan of The Plague Within and Draconian Times. Based on your guide, I imagine I should give Medusa and Obsidian a shot. Though I feel like after that, I should go in order from the beginning.
  21. Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding (I always forget how good this album really is) Chelsea Wolfe - She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny Amigo the Devil - Yours Until the War is Over Amigo the Devil - Everything is Fine Slomosa - Slomosa Megadeth - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R
  22. Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers Bruce Dickinson - Skunkworks Bruce Dickinson - Accident of Birth Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance Sean Ono Lennon - Asterisms Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains - The Big Eyeball in the Sky Buckethead - Giant Robot The Pineapple Thief - It Leads to This
  23. I still haven't crossed the $150 line. And that's a super rare occurrence
