  1. Little Queen is one of my favorite rock albums ever.
  2. OH, okay. Well then the joke is lost on you. Go check out "Sister golden Hair"...
  3. Not trying to troll...I guess I just don't like them. I was honestly giving them a listen ready to be blown away cause I've heard so much about them. I was genuinely disappointed. And you don't hear harmonies that sound like America in that one song, you've never heard America.
  4. "Way Out Of Here"....oh jeez..another teenage depression song. The music is pretty cool. But I've about had enough of these reality tv lyrics. Good lord.
  5. "Time Flies" is what happens when Rush and America have nasty dirty sex.
  6. Oh, somone thinks they're late 90's Rush....now I know why Rush freaks love them so much. I see the similarity...but its just not the same. Man this guitar player probably LOOKS like Alex Lifeson.
  7. Okay "time flies" is pretty bad so far. Whats up with these lyrics? Real good players though...I'm drowning here guys...someone help me out.
  8. Okay "fear of a blank planet" is not impressing. Lyrics a little juvenile and its just average. Somebody turn me on to a song they weren't trying to get a hit with. Whoa...the end is really cool. that just happened....NICE!!
  9. I plan on introducing myself to them now. Any suggestions for a first time listener?

    Face Up

to each his own I guess...You know whats funny...I rarely listen to early 70's Rush anymore. The playing is incredible and I love it. But it just seems a little silly some times. Anyone else feel this way?

    Face Up

Man I dont' know kids. When I was younger I wrote off 'ate 80's and 90's rush as watered down, over produced good rock but not real RUSH. But the older I get, the more I love it. I agree with the author of the thread. Great song...I think I love every song on that record. Now Counterparts has great stuff on it. But "everyday glory" and "Nobody's Hero" are both god awful. Oh, and don't let me forget that terrible rap in "Roll The Bones"
  12. wasn't my intent...just bitchin a little gaw!!
  13. I understand the population thing. And agree, it's a pain in the ass. But you guys do come off like sissies sometimes. I thought New Yorkers were supposed to be tough. Power outages? 4 1/2 days? That happens to us about once a year. Funny thing, it happens during ice storms. How the hell does southwest missouri out ice New York. But it does. About every year we have an ice storm that keeps 75-85,000 people out of power for weeks. I understand its not millions. But whats the big deal? We get candles and chess boards. If the house is heated electricly we go over to a family members house with gas. We put everything outside so it won't spoil...some shit we keep in a cooler so it won't freeze. It's no big deal. CNN aint here. Nobody's offering thoughts and prayers. Shit, we had a tornado in '08 take out half as many people has Irene. We lost 24 to an F4 in between seneca and joplin. 24 sorry bastards that happened to be driving. Didn't make a blip on the national news. Realize before you get all offended, I realize that most of this is said out of emotional frusteration and I'm not considering all that facts. I'm not inclined to be academic about it. It feels better to just be pissed off. We always feel ignored down here. And this time, it just kind of pissed all of us off. Thats the banter at the local bars last couple of days. "F'in Irene...thats a bitch of a storm, jeez...."We like to rant about New Yorkers always act all tough but let a little water fall from the sky and the wind pick up "jees yous guys...it's a freakin Hurricane outside...we gotsta evacuate the city...yo" Okay...nuff said. I'm gonna go talk about Rush now.
  14. ha ha yall....it's shitty!!! "But the yankees grab the headlines everytime...whoa oh oh!"...name that song.
  15. Those generators are dangerous too man. People run them indoors and stuff and go to sleep then never wake up. Be careful with those things.
  16. QUOTE (Pags @ Aug 31 2011, 10:45 AM) QUOTE (beanerschnitzel @ Aug 29 2011, 11:00 PM) I hate for my first post to be negative. But good lord, I'm from Joplin Missouri. I watch the news and hear anchormen blow about "60 mile an hour winds" like thats anything I wanna puke. 13 people dead on the entire eastern seaboard? While I agree 1 is too many but try 190 in 5 miles. Give me a break. So what does this mean? Unless we can top your natural disasters with our natural disasters it doesn't qualify? I think it means the amount of coverage is silly. I think means 60 mile an hour winds are a joke. I think it means nothing seems to really matter unless it hits either coast or chicago. You had 13 people die on the entire eastern shoreline. We had 190 in five miles. We had 300 mile an hour winds. It wasn't just an F5, it was the biggest m'fing F5 anyones ever seen. Yet, you're on every station, the president is speaking and theres an "irene" watch on every freaking cable network. NOt too mention, they yanked our FEMA funding so they can take care of the people who matter. Shit man, it's New York!!! Gotta take care of New York. The power is out. Sorry Joplin, you're not New York. Maybe this is an emotional post cause I can't drive across town and not get lost cause theres nothing there. But yeah, I'm a little pissed about the attention Irene is getting. Cut me a break.

Okay, that's two such posts from you in this thread, and they're your first two posts on this board. First, welcome to TRF. Second, are you really from Joplin? Are you posting from there right now? Yes, I am. Well..Webb City..it's the same thing. I know it's a little harsh on my part but call me frustrated.
