OKAY. FIRST OFF.
I'm hearing how awesome the stories are from this show. Mine doesn't compare but it was fine for me me.
The band was off a few times, but it was only enjoyable. The opener with geddys lyric mess up. You can only laugh it off and appreciate how good they are. Also, WTA issues, which made me look bad because I was prepared to drum the start of the song.. but it wasstill funny . It was the closest I've ever been for a show. 7th row, Floor, obviously, and and seat 15 I believe. It was just awesome. I was next to a dude that lived in Dallas and really loved the band. And we talked throughout the show. He was pretty awesome. And I was next to a girl for half the show, and for a girl that looked my age, she was as big a fan as anyone, and she was pretty cool also! So I got to meet two great Rush fans!
It had to have been awesome for my Dad, who grew up in EP. He had season tickets to Miner Basketball, and the seats he had for the shoe were fairly close to the season tickets he had back in the 70's. He loved it. He turned me on to Rush. And without that I wouldn't be so musically influenced. He also had a perfect view of Neil.
THE CROWD WAS AWESOME.
They jumped on YYZ. Most of them rather. And had a fantastic time. I figured they would because Rushhadnt been there since T4E. They loved it. And so did I. The band was so intimate with the crowd. You know that no matter where your seats are when you'll watch them in a C-USA arena (no offense to the UH, Tulsa, Memphis, etc. Fans)
It was my first back to back experience. Seeing them so flawless the other night before that in Austin was awesome. And El Paso was even better. They were playful with the closest rows. Geddy looked directly at the girl on my right during Spirit of the Radio (during the chorus, he kind of pointed at her?), and for someone who has never had a meet and greet, and usually sat on the Lawn or far far back, it was the first time I realized how close I was. It was pretty bad ass.
OH and I didn't have to worry about my Mavs in game 7. (I'm a mav diehard. Pretty much since I lived in Dallas, in '02.) THEY WERE ALREADY NBA CHAMPIONS. :
That was MY experience. If anyone cares
The band is simply flawless, and I'm glad that I've found therushforum
com, especially after visiting RIAB for a while.. just to read sttuff and news. I'm new here obviously but id love to get to know most of these Rush freaks, like me
Thanks dudes and girls.
