  1. It's that time of year again, and DMB has released its 2015 dates for their annual summer tour. Hate DMB, love DMB, indifferent towards DMB... It doesn't matter to me. But are there any other Dave fans on here? I've become obsessed in the last few years, and beyond excited for these dates to surface while continuing to wait on word of a *potential* Rush tour. Anyone considering attending a show? Personally, I'm going to try and hit both Denver shows and the KC and STL shows. So excited! http://davematthewsband.com/tour
  2. Okay, so this is driving me crazy. Ever since I heard this almost six months ago, I can't get over how much it reminded me of Xanadu, but I didn't know who else to ask. Finally, it occurred to me that I should post it here! Am I crazy?! It's an imrove intro to 'Pig.'
  3. I'll bet the announcement comes within the next month or so, and the actual tour begins in April.
  4. Absolutely destroys life on SnA Live. I'd love to see this one unearthed again.
  5. Was it Colbert that really wanted them on The Colbert Report or was it his producer? I can't remember.
  6. I just want them to play a lot of Signals to Hold Your Fire material. :)
  7. as a college kid....seeing kids use this i think THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA
  8. Trivia: A former MLB player (fairly well-known, too) used a Rush song as his walkup song for quite some time. Who was the player, and what was the song? (I voted, by the way. Twice.)
  9. mine is based on a Fountain of Syrinx located somewhere in Greenland, i think? no real relation. traveled there as a kid. place was riveting. haven't looked back since.
  10. i think he SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! i can't BELIEVE that anyone would pay HARD EARNED AMERICAN MONEY to go see this SHIT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i saw them THREE TIMES on the CA tour and they SUCKED EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kid. He sounds great. I'm just glad it seems like they tailor the sets for his voice. It sounds better overall, and we all get to nerd hardcore on the 80s. I'd put money on a heavy Presto/HYF (HYF especially) influence on the upcoming tour. I'd kill to hear Prime Mover like seven times a night.
  11. We've pretty much decided to pass. I like the Mazdas a lot, but it's too much of a risk.
  12. So that's really something to avoid? Would taking it to our mechanic help at all? I am no car expert but taking a used car to a mechanic is always preferable prior to buying. At 41,000 miles the engine in theory is barely broken in so that is good. I would still want a pro to go through it due to its status. Also I would check with my DMV regarding the rebuilt title to make sure that doesn't cause you any problems now or later... Will do. Thanks for the advice. It's only two years old and pretty darn cheap, obviously because of the fire issue. Maybe it's something kind of like hail damage, where the price is driven down because of what happened, and the actual car is fine. I'll look a little more into it. It's hard to get information of the car without paying for a Carfax. But if it's something I want to pursue, it needs to be done. We've got a deal to sell my 2003 Suburban for $6,000. It's a great car, but it isn't fuel efficient and isn't practical for me living off-campus next year and ten hours from home. Something around 25 MPG would be perfect. If we could get the deal for $8500 or something like that, hopefully we could get a good warranty and keep the overall cost around $10,000 - or only $4,000 out of pocket (based on what we've got now).

  14. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tab=summary&recnum=&actLog=&listingId=600709323&paId=&listingRecNum=5&criteria=feedSegId%3d28705%26rpp%3d50%26isDealerGrouping%3dfalse%26sf2Nm%3dmiles%26requestorTrackingInfo%3dRTB_SEARCH%26sf1Nm%3dprice%26sf2Dir%3dASC%26stkTypId%3d28881%26PMmt%3d1-1-0%26rn%3d0%26zc%3d76118%26rd%3d30%26crSrtFlds%3dstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-pseudoPrice%26mdId%3d21446%26stkTyp%3dU%26mkId%3d20073%26prMn%3d0%26sf1Dir%3dDESC%26prMx%3d10000&tracktype=usedcc&pageNumber=&numResultsPerPage=&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE&certifiedOnly=false& Christ, that's a long link. Anyways, I'm going to get a new car next week. I really like the Mazda3's, and feel like it'd be perfect to last me through college and then some. They get really solid mileage, and they look really slick. I came across this one last night, and aside from the headlight fire, I feel like it's fairly solid. My concern is that there's something severely wrong with it. Would y'all (car people) even consider looking into this? Or should I find something that doesn't seem as sketchy. Thanks, folks!
  15. Or, it might be the exact reason why they DON'T play this live - might stir up too many negative memories. Clem doubt that's it. the pass could potentially stir up negative memories for those who knew a loved one who committed suicide, presto could offend ex-magicians who quit the biz, etc and they still play those I don't think it would offend anyone. Maybe if they tour in 2016, they can do some sort of 30th anniversary deal. I don't know. The band likes the whole 30th anniversary thing. ;)
  16. While they loved Fountain of Lamneth, it was nothing compared to 2112, which essentially saved their careers. They had to play 2112. They didn't really need to play Fountain of Lamneth.
  17. Dave Matthews Band on May 17th, July 4th, and July 5th. All tentative at the moment, but I'm sure as hell hoping it all works out! Should be an interesting tour. 2 sets, some acoustic, some electric work. I'm stoked.
  18. This song could really utilize video bits in the background. And pyro. Maybe a tribute to Challenger/Columbia at the end.. The instrumental bit that eventually fades out could feature the picture of the crews (kinda like the soldiers with angel wings on WTA).
  19. A 7-song set. I can't even imagine, given how I've only seen them in the past 10 years. I see lots of various indie bands, and it's just weird to think of Rush being at that level at one point in their careers. It's very interesting. Sorry, I digress.
