  1. The title is likely only for promotional purposes, though I'm shocked it's out this quickly. It'll end up being just three and a half months from the end of the tour, but I guess it'll be about five from the show's recording. The mix sounds pretty solid. Geddy is pretty loud, so I'm sure a whole mess of people will end up complaining about the vocals. But at the end of the day, that's just a part of being in your 60s. Oh well. I'm excited! Sounds good, and I'll have some new Rush material in two months from now. Yippie!
  2. I think most performers don't care as long as personal recordings aren't being sold. Somebody watching on a free site like YT doesn't result in profit for the video maker. Especially for a band as well-off as Rush. Besides, recordings like this really benefit the fans who couldn't quite make it out to a show for one reason or another. As a performer, I would appreciate that.
  3. I get goosebumps any time I watch the intro video with the curtain coming up into The Anarchist. Sick, really. Awesome way to start the show. Had me saying 'Holy Shit!' in Lincoln because I opted not to follow on opening night... The intro video was just really well done all the way around.
  4. It was also the best in terms of setlist. I do love the set - and I'm partial to SnA as an album as a whole, so I love those tracks live.
  5. I think it sounds great. Amazing the difference between it and CA's. You'd never know they were produced by the same guy. CA's is so poorly done. Hmmm. Didn't know they were produced by same guy. Despite loving the TMT and CA sets, I always find myself listening to SnA Live. Digital Man, Circumstances, Way The Wind Blows, etc. They all sound absolutely gorgeous for being a live album. And the DVD is really well made, too. I thought, when I first heard CA Live, that a part of the mixing issue was the venue. The American Airlines Center is huge, and I remember them having a nightmarish evening in terms of sound. When Subdivisions first came on, I turned to my buddy in shock at how quiet it was. About the time they got to Territories, the sound was better - but it never did get to the volume you'd expect for a Rush show. For example, in Lincoln this year, I left believing it was the loudest concert I've ever been to, and probably the best Rush show I'd seen. The sound was wonderful, and the venue isn't all that big. Rambling aside, I believe they take those live recordings from the soundboard, correct? If that's the case, CA was doomed from the beginning. Producer probably had a box of tissues from the moment he opened those raw files.
  6. Thought SnA was the best live album in terms of mix.
  7. I feel like this guy would know a bit more than the rest of us... Sorry if there's a thread about this already... https://twitter.com/TheKJA/status/627899044472291329
  8. I've been alive for half of their career, and I cried. This can't be the end. I refuse to believe it.
  9. Couldn't periscope, but holding back tears even thinking that may have been it. They're just the f***ing best. And will be forever.
  10. Might see Walk The Moon in Omaha next week. Saw DMB on back-to-back nights in KC and STL two weeks ago, and will see them on both nights in Denver in late August. Los Lonely Boys in October? Of Monsters and Men? Plenty of options.
  11. Was wondering on attendance for Lincoln tonight. Pretty damn small market, and it seems like you can still get a shitload of seats in pretty good spots. Definitely not sold out. Tickets for less than $10 on StubHub. How was the Tulsa attendance, by the way?
  12. None, but DMB is a close second - for completely different reasons.
  13. I don't want to make everyone feel awkward, but I'm fully expecting to get somewhat emotional at the end of the only show I'm hitting... I keep running the thought that this may indeed be the very last time I see them, and I don't really think that's registered for me. I know it's something I'll have to accept, but with as much as the band, and seeing the live shows, has meant to me, I don't know how I'll react next Sunday night when it's over. I'm so excited, but I'm also not as excited as I could be because of that thought lingering over my head. To quote Big Head Todd and the Monsters, "It's bittersweet.. More sweet than bitter, bitter than sweet. It's a bittersweet surrender." On a more objective level, I can't see this being the end altogether. As much as people paint Neil as someone who basically hates all of this, I believe that if that was really the case, he wouldn't have come back after his personal tragedies. I think Neil finds value in it, and I think shorter, five- or ten-show runs would be feasible.
  14. Would LOVE to hear Digital Man again. Listening to SnA Live right now. The Limelight --> Digital Man opening is one of my all-time faves. Nothing beats that drum intro.
  15. Hmmm. Very good points. Didn't really think about much of that. That specific listing is gone (which is interesting, because you could have purchased just one or all four). I'll keep looking. And VividSeats appears to add anywhere from $50-$100 in service fees. Blah.
  16. Hey y'all, Just 19 days to the Lincoln show. Still can't believe they'll be in my college town. The last few tours, I hit a pair of shows each time. Often in Texas. We usually just bought a pair of tickets and would go wherever, and sit wherever. Now, with this potentially the last tour they'll do, I want to get close. The closest I've been is sixth row. StubHub is fast and reliable, but expensive. For vividseats.com, there's a ticket on Alex's side, second row, for $218. I'm really close to pulling the trigger. Is vividseats legit? I've never purchased from there, and they're a BBB member. But you never know with these kinds of things. It's not an instant download, and the ticket indicates 'preferred seller,' but I've got no clue what that means. Any help would be great. If only it was StubHub simple all the time :). Thanks mucho.
  17. I'm going to Tulsa, made the same promise, and did the same thing. Good luck. It should be an adventure.
  18. I'll be at the second show of the tour. I've told myself I will not look at anything setlist related so it's a surprise for me on show night. Still a month away from the show, I, without hesitation, clicked on something that said 'spoiler alert.' Boy, these next few weeks are going to be fun. :)
  19. I haven't had a 'bad' concert experience, really. At a festival in Dallas in 2013, I had just recently torn my ACL (though I didn't yet know it - still was waiting for MRI) and it was an all-day thing. I stood almost the whole time, dipping in and out of the huge crowds that were there to see their favorite bands. For some shows, I was at the very front. For others, I was apathetically sitting on the side. I went with four friends and one friend's girlfriend. Early on, my friend with his girlfriend disappeared, only to be found out by the car at the very end of the festival. I didn't really care. I was just glad they were there. His phone was dead and God only knows what could've happened when we lost contact in that crowd. We might've been there for hours. Anyways, two friends and I were together the whole time, thoroughly enjoying Atlas Genius, A Silent Film, and even AWOLNATION (who really isn't good, but puts on a fun show). We were there mainly for Phoenix, which is one of my all-time favorite bands. They were the headliner, and weren't supposed to go on until 10:30. About 7, we decided it was time to make a push to get to the front for that show, knowing we would have to wait through Paramore and Bush. Those shows were entertaining, and Bush, to my surprise, was actually really good. As the Bush set ended, we were stoked that we were getting closer and closer as Phoenix came near. Finally, with just a few minutes to the Phoenix set, we were within the first few rows of people. It was so hot, but it was great. I loved it. Phoenix comes on, and all is well. They sound great. My knee hurts like holy hell and looks like a bowling ball, but I honestly didn't care. Midway through Phoenix's set, one of my buddies just pukes everywhere. We hadn't even been drinking. He just got sick from the heat of the people around us and let it all loose. He made his way to the front where they were taking body-surfers and escorting them to the back of the crowd. Just a few minutes after that, my other buddy decided it was 'too loud,' and decided to do the same. So for about 30-45 minutes, at a festival in which I had attended with FIVE other people on a torn up knee, I was the last man standing, rejoicing with a thousand others at the music of Phoenix. I guess it's just funny, in hindsight. It wasn't a bad experience. I guess I just have concert-loser friends. :)
  20. Sounds like you lost those tickets. The emails go out immediately. Darn. I hesitated for too long. I've been on the sixth row, and I'm trying desperately to get closer. We'll see with the Citi presale and the general on-sale.
  21. I did the MusicToday pre-sale for Lincoln, got eighth row, Geddy's side - but I was on my phone! It took FOREVER to fill out the form and I ran all the way up until the time ended, submitting the form just as it was about to expire. It returned me to the front page, with no confirmation page or anything, and I haven't gotten a email yet. Did the order go through or did I run out of time?
  22. I didn't even know he was still out there making music. Alive and well, though it's odd to think he's about as old as Rush were when they released Vapor Trails... Time flies. I was only seven. :(
