QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 26 2011, 01:31 PM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 26 2011, 01:46 PM) QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 26 2011, 09:28 AM)QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 25 2011, 02:37 PM) QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Apr 25 2011, 03:30 PM) Calling the board owner a Nazi... nice move. It doesn't bother me in the least. Invoking Godwin's Law always reflects badly on the person using it, not their intended target. Fourthmember, in case you haven't noticed, I and others have stuck up for you and your right to remain here, despite some people calling for us to dump you. I know you've got this out-of-left-field image to uphold, which is fine, but maybe don't lay it on so thick with all these threads of yours, you know? Relax. is 'Geddy's Nose Flaw' thread....threadworthy? I think its really more of an issue of bias. Conform or be cast out type of thing. I have broached some serious topics here that are all in line with what Rush sings about, if the homo sapiens here can't handle my line of questions, too bad. My inevitable banning won't be the first or the last. How big of you to not yet succumb to peer pressure, just because I broach threads like - "Immortality or Another Lost Generation"...oh dear, oh me, some deep waters here. Lets keep things shallow, sweet, and inauthentic. QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 26 2011, 09:30 AM) Dude, you've seriously overestimated how controversial you think you're being. No one cares 1/100th as much as you do about your posts. And talking to 73 last night I can't post here after this. I somehow pity 4th. He's spent this portion of his lifetime, which might be years or days trying to prove me wrong over such miniscule a thing as a hyphen. how and where and when it was used by Neil... I'll never admit I was wrong 4th. Usage implies everyday time after time. Once? twice? Sorry, no. And believe me you DO have bigger battles in your life, I know you do. Can't you just feel the love...
  2. It was during or just before the Roll the Bones tour, when I heard that Rush had made a considerable contribution to a group of gays. Not sure of how much ($500,000.00 ?) or what the name of this particuliar entity of Homosexuals is/was. Anyone with the seedy-underside of this story? and, are they still donating to Flames ?
  3. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Apr 26 2011, 01:12 PM) QUOTE (Digital Man @ Apr 26 2011, 01:31 PM) I think 'broach" was in someone's word of the week calendar this week. a broach is a piece of jewelry. Sounds the same, but the spelling is off.
  4. QUOTE (Digital Man @ Apr 26 2011, 12:31 PM) I think 'broach" was in someone's word of the week calendar this week. so 'broach' has been broached too much for you ? If I said. 'Water is wet', surely one of the anal-retentives here would disagree.

I left change to PW. Because of Natural Science and "change". Just wait till someone broaches how the whole sequence of Rush albums follow the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot Deck, I would but it's a secret I like to hold between Neil and I. Really this whole self important shtick is getting a little old. Self important, or is it possibly true? Believe me, no-one has ever broached this topic on any of the Rush sites...it is way to deep. You should be asking me what it all means....how cool.

  7. The concept of Test For Echo is 'change coming to Rush' Sweet Chariot, Swing Low Coming for me - Totem All through this album, they are voice the coming of something new. The concept of Presto is 'tearing away the veil of illusions and seeing things for what they really are'...in the Available Light.

  9. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 06:13 PM) QUOTE (Undemanding Contact @ Apr 25 2011, 06:52 PM) QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 05:42 PM)hey this is gleamingalloy again is it? You've got a point - whatever happened to him? Then again, you can usually tell a given person's style. It's like a linguistic fingerprint - CosyToes gives off 'tells' all the time that belie his earlier incarnations. My point is that I don't remember GleamingAlloy ever coming across all 'faux religio-nut' (in equally faux polyester-slacks perhaps?) in the way that FourthPedigreeTwaddle does. ok because I DO remember GAAC coming unhinged at the end. And right as I was coming back to TRF...does this entity realize he's wasted an entire day on a hyphen? Oh wait and trying to make me admit I was wrong about something as miniscule as a hyphen and it's being used one time by someone as prolific as Neil Peart. SO if I've stirred the pot myself I apologize, guess it's a case of you can take the guy outta Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey outta the guy. You broached it and now it is fun watching you rationalize.
  10. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 05:41 PM) QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Apr 25 2011, 03:35 PM) There is no hyphen in "no one". They are two separate words. The adjective "no" modifies the pronoun "one". It defines the number of people present (zero). There is no one home. We have no tickets to sell. We have no clue about Rush grammar. No trolls allowed. and let me tell ya something 4thwad Neil used it ONE TIME did he ever use it again? NO so, this huge house you created is built on a foundation of sand And nice way to make yourself useful while I went to work! What else did you accomplish while I was out? Wrong again: Twice...Red Barchetta and Ente Nous. You said 'No-one ever uses a hyphen'.
  11. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Apr 25 2011, 02:35 PM) There is no hyphen in "no one". They are two separate words. The adjective "no" modifies the pronoun "one". It defines the number of people present (zero). There is no one home. We have no tickets to sell. We have no clue about Rush grammar. No trolls allowed. I could care less. Why does Neil write "no-one" on Red Barchetta and Entre Nous, which is the real topic at hand.
  12. Talk to 'BeOhBe Bob' about it, he said, 'no one uses hypens when writing "no one", i thought it was ironic, that Neil does, and he said it on a Rush site. Do we have to submit our posts to the 'How Interesting is Our Posts' Nazis now ? Believe me, i have seen worse.
  13. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 25 2011, 01:45 PM) QUOTE (Babycat @ Apr 25 2011, 11:37 AM) QUOTE (Undemanding Contact @ Apr 25 2011, 06:12 PM) I'm still waiting for an epic FourthMember/Gemini-Rising face off. A bit like By Tor and the Snowdog. ...well, I say 'waiting', 'hoping' would be closer to the truth. Unless, of course, FourthMemberOfRush is Gemini Rising, which would spoil the fun (although but they do seem to be distinct individuals). Do you think they are one and the same..? Gemini Rising actually has interesting things to say. Don't be afraid to supply a 'for instance'. Then I will judge how interesting it is on a scale from 1 to 10. Give us your best shot.
  14. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 01:18 PM) QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 25 2011, 02:02 PM) QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 01:00 PM) QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 25 2011, 01:58 PM) As I said, Tell it to Neil too. Which Rush song in the liner notes uses a hypen with no-one ? We'll see if you are humble enough to admit when you are wrong in saying, "no one uses a hypen when spelling no one". aww did i hit a nerve? Wassup, can't answer the question on where Neil wrote "no-one"? You broached the issue, you should have left it alone. one time? trivial question is more like it. Do YOU know where he used it? If so good for you, now I'm going outside for a while so no peepee or poo on the carpet here's your bacon be a good girl! daddy be right back Tough to admit when your wrong, especially with those you host such hostility with...he he.
  15. Neil used "No-one" on at least two songs, which appears as such in the liner notes. Hmm, I thought there were Rush fans here, no-one has answered the question in almost an hour. P.S. No I am not Gemini-Rising. Maybe we need to meet up and come into an affinity on an issue and take on the whole board. Nah, i can do that myself.
  16. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 25 2011, 01:03 PM) boy, and i thought reani made stupid threads. 4thmember is obviously an alter. Stupid thread, or are you feeling stupid because you and no-one else has answered a simple question on a Rush lyric yet?

  19. QUOTE (usb_connector @ Apr 25 2011, 12:45 PM) QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 25 2011, 01:04 PM) BeOhBe Bob was railing against my use of a hyphen while spelling 'no-one" on one of my posts, attempting to inform me that no one uses a hyphen. Evidently, BeOhBe Bob has not been into Rush for very long, not knowing that one of the Rush albums uses this spelling. Who knows which one? Hey BeOhBe Bob...take it up with Neil. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3653/3390182310_f86c82cb95.jpg 1) Just because you like a band, does not mean you need to agree with everything they believe in and/or do. Bob has a preference, that doesn't mean his preference is wrong, nor does it warrant making a thread to single him out. 2) I guess you haven't been on this forum long enough to realise that there are other boards where non-rush discussions go. Rush is obviously not the main topic of discussion here. This thread goes in the "Grand Designs" section of the board. "Noone" and "no-one" are perfectlly acceptable ways to right the word in the English language. Some people, including myself, have preferences as to which one would be considered more formal. BeOhBe Bob to me on the post, ANOTHER LOST GENERATION: "NEWSFLASH no one hyphenates no one and after little clerical errors like that whomever is posting tends to lose credibility" Based on BeOhBe Bob, Rush has made a 'clerical error' on one of their albums. And now he is going to pay the price.
  20. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Apr 25 2011, 12:23 PM) QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 10:27 AM) NEWSFLASH no one hyphenates no one I do. "Noone" looks ridiculous, and I want to differentiate the phrase from "no single". BeOhBe Bob is going to eat Fat Crow. He said no-one uses a hypen, and Neil did. It is a Trivia Question now on another post, as to where Neil did.
  21. QUOTE (kbomb106 @ Apr 25 2011, 12:12 PM) The only incidence - off the top of my head - at least in terms of song titles would be "No One At the Bridge." I don't have CoS on me, so I can't say how it appears on the actual album cover, but everything I found on the internet had no hyphen. If you were talking about something in the lyrics, I don't know. Yes, it is in the lyrics.
  22. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 25 2011, 11:27 AM) QUOTE (FourthmemberofRush @ Apr 23 2011, 12:34 PM)Based on the Post, "Immortality or Another Lost Generation", no-one could be honest about the original post. Alternately, those posting found the need to attack me (which if fine, I like to stir things up). Hence, those posting have indirectly answered the question...you and Rush are part of Another Lost Generation. Maybe others will come along that want to ascend out of the darkness of mortal consciousness. I expected more from Rush fans, evidently I was wrong. The Rush sites are filled with as much death as the religions around the world. NEWSFLASH no one hyphenates no one and after little clerical errors like that whomever is posting tends to lose credibility and yeah you hit a nerve big deal bob, did you take your meds today? I created a post just for you concerning "no-one". your ass shall be nailed.
