  1. I like the burrito slinger guy (I think that's what he called himself ...?) He just looks like he needs a good scrubbin'! The only thing that gets me is all the sob stories and the tears - especially from the over 30's - enough already - just sing!
  2. Kansas "Always Never the Same" with the London Symphony - love it!!
  3. Pine wood burning when I cut it. But the best smell is babies - you know that Baby Magic/baby powder/Desitin smell with a little bit of Gerber sweet potatoes thrown in. Makes me want to have one all over again - but that's crazy talk!
  4. Like Mara I discovered these on A&E and did the marathon, all day sessions of 6-7 hours of creepiness. It's like you're kicking yourself for watching the creepy, but you just have to see how all the creepiness turns out. My fave - the episodes with David Carradine (or is it Keith?) -- disturbing!! Dr. Reid is sooooo good at the part he plays. I also like Garcia - quirky and fun! A little lightheartedness to all the dark stuff that is going on.
  5. QUOTE (goose @ Oct 5 2011, 08:46 PM) Eddie Money (free concert) was drunk off his ass and could barely mumble through the set. Funny for a while...but... Joe Satriani bored the hell out of me when he opened for Steve Miller. Tix were free. David Lee Roth's Eat Em & Smile in Spokane was pretty weak. He seemed merely human, which was disappointing for a rock god like him. 1/3 of the seats empty didn't help. Also free tix. Thankfully, any show I've paid for has rocked. I saw Eddie Money - similar experience - $25 for John Waits, Lou Gramm, Eddie Money and Rick Springfield. Eddie Money was so high/drunk that he couldn't get his microphone in the mike stand. His daughter came out with her feather boa and sang the "Ronnie" "be my little baby" part on "Take Me Home Tonight" - the whole thing was a little disturbing. Rick Springfield was actually awesome though and was worth the $25, and more, all by himself. Thought it was going to be really "poppy", but he was super high energy and really good.
  6. Speaking of men with beautiful hair ... ... A few years back we went to a Foreigner concert where Mick Jones had to be replaced for the night by Whitesnake guitar player Doug Aldrich. Basically I think this meant that no original members from Foreigner were in the band that night ...? Doug Aldrich was a treat though And is it just me or does their current lead singer remind anyone of Steven Tyler?
  7. They (REO) opened for Styx a week ago and were actually very good. I agree that Kevin Cronin just needs to get over himself with all the yakking for God sake! And yes ... I was more than just a smidge distracted by the hottie playing the bass and his beautiful hair!!
  8. Montgomery to be exact - cute kinda faded southern accent going on. He tells the story about getting discovered in a bowling alley, I think it is, right before he breaks into "Crystal Ball".
  9. STYX!!!!!! #2 Kansas #3 ELO U2 #4 Queensryche Iron Maiden
  10. Saw them last weekend with my husband and there was practically a revolt in the house when my two boys found out. Easily the best Styx concert we've ever been to, and we've been to alot! Lawrence Gowan is definitely a huge asset to the band and Tommy - God that man is dreamy!! And Tommy's got himself some serious guns these days!! I was a goner when he sang "Crystal Ball" - it's always a great concert when Geddy or Tommy make me cry
  11. Okay ... I must admit ... Kansas is my new OBSESSION!! It's all about "Song for America" for me - over and over again. Heard a version of it on youtube with the London Symphony - can't get enough of it.
  12. When I was a senior in high school I used to take ballet class 3 times a week with Janet Jones - who is that you may ask ...? She is now Mrs. Wayne Gretzky and at that time was Miss Dance of America and went on to be in the film version of "A Chorus Line" and "The Flamingo Kid" as well as one of Denny Terrio's little dancers on Dance Fever (I think that was the name). She was not a very kind/nice person, although I have seen her on interviews within the past few years and she seems to have mellowed.
  13. Las Vegas will be much happier when you are back doing your thing on TRF! June 24 and the concert is right around the corner.
