  1. QUOTE (jwoods89 @ Jul 29 2012, 12:39 PM) Do you think Clockwork Angels is one of those albums that takes some time to warm up to? I have listened to the majority of the songs so far and none of them really hit me in the face as some of their other stuff, but I am just thinking that maybe it will take some time to grow on me perhaps? I recently listened to S&A after a few months and that album hit me like a ton of bricks for some reason and now I really, really like it a lot. Funny you mention that, same thing happened to me with Snakes and Arrows. When it first came out I was like " AHH thats POO" lol. But then after coming down my high from Clockwork Angels I gave S&A a listen again and now I'm in love with it. I just think its great that Rush's music is always there and it just takes a certain time or point in life where the listener can really appreciate the different nuances to each album.
  2. 1 Clockwork Angels 2 The Garden 3 BU2B 4 Seven Cities of Gold 5 The Wreckers 6 Caravan 7 Headlong Flight 8 Carnies 9 The Anarchist 10 Halo Effect 11 Wish Them Well 12 BU2B2
  3. Whats funny for me is I couldn't stand S&A, but after I listened to CA it made me want to go back and give S&A another listen. I still think Clockwork Angels is better but now I like S&A alot more then I use to.
  4. QUOTE (Snaked @ Jul 1 2012, 12:08 PM) personally I think the main riff is among the best they've done in a long time. it's nasty, dirty, filthy.. whatever you want to call it and I likes it! I agree
  5. I'm still pretty young, so I'm looking forward more to the future and trying to forget about my past. So I voted NO
  6. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jun 30 2012, 09:08 PM) Halo Effect for me.....closely followed by Wish Them Well.... I'll also add BU2B2 to that list... I admire Geddy and Alex's creativity in "The Wreckers", and their comfort level to play each other's instruments.

  8. QUOTE (Mika @ Jul 16 2012, 08:03 PM) Hmm. Well. I can answer this two different ways: the best closing song, or the best song that happens to fall as the closing song (there's a difference!). I think the best closing song would be 'Everyday Glory' or 'We Hold On' or 'The Garden', as they work very well as album enders. My favourite song that happens to be an album ending song would be 'La Villa Strangiato', along with 'Natural Science' and 'Vital Signs'. Great songs!
  9. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 15 2012, 05:19 AM) i'd put the first 7 all better than the garden but than again i'm not a fan of the garden. i'd also put out of the cradle over the garden. What?!?
  10. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jul 12 2012, 01:12 PM) Should Peter Collins return to the RUSH production fold next time? All the albums Peter produced with RUSH have great production quality. And he's still got it, the Flying Colors album sounds excellent! Come on now you RUSH fools, have at it! I think whoever mixed Caravan and BU2B the first time around should mix for Rush from now on.
  11. I for one think Geddy's voice has matured and sounds better now than the shrilly vocals of old. I love the harmony work he does as well; it adds alot of depth to the songs. I love hearing Geddy embrace his lower register on the live stuff. The "tweaks" to some of the melodies of the older songs don't sound hokey at all to me. Can't wait to see these guys again in Seattle..WOOT!!
  12. I've recently got into wearing corsets, it feels so good to my back when i wear one...the thing is i can only wear them up to 2 hours because it starts to put strain on the lower curve of my back. But the feeling of having a nice straight spine and back; the girls getting alot of support which takes the strain off the middle upper back feels so nice...whenever ive had a hard day at work and my back hurts i do some stretches then put one of my corsets on...makes me feel so much better

I can't believe my ears when hearing that gorgeous masterpiece even after listening to it about 400 time by now. Had to go with Caravan, could be my all time favorite Rush tune, no lie. It rocks, it's progressive, has a sick jam and solo, great melodies, keyboards, EVERYTHING I could ever want in one Rush song. I love Caravan too and am afraid the re-record will not be as good. Why are you afraid of that? Pretty sure they didnt rewrite the song, and I seriously doubt it will sound much different than the original version. because the original is perfect. You do understand they aren't rewriting the song, right? We're just about rerecording it here. It makes no difference since Im pretty sure it's the same 3 guys playing, and the same guys recording it. People are weird sometimes. I'm weird because I'm afraid it will sound different? the production on HF sounds different! For once can you stop being an argumentative troll? So its not just me that thinks Headlong Flight sounds different, and not for the better...

I feel the same way, and not just because it was the first single from the new album. The mix and production was perfect IMO. Its the closest mix to what they sound like live as a band, and you can feel that energy coming off of it as a result.
  15. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Apr 22 2012, 08:21 PM)It's already better than S&A. Diddo
